Ice Cube stars in a number of movies portraying no-nonsense black people:

xXx - the next level (Oz release), (State of the Union in the US) is one high tech action thriller, which includes a spectacular tank attack on the White House to save the President from a Coup.

"NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons (Samuel Jackson)...and his agent Darius Stone (Ice Cube) must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by Willem Dafoe, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation's capital."

Quotes:

(Ice Cube) Darius Stone: Wars come and go, but my soldier stay eternal.

Agent Augustus Gibbons: I like that. Who said it? Jefferson? Patton?

Darius Stone: Tupac.*

------------------------------------

Darius Stone: The fate of the free world in the hands of a bunch of hustlers and thieves.

Agent Kyle Steele: Why should tonight be any different?

------------------------------------

Uptight Businessman: You got any advice for us?

Darius Stone: Well, Dick, perhaps you could tell your members to stop buyin' country music, stop burnin' crosses, and stop shootin' black folks. Hear me? Now, if that don't work, try a cookout with free food. Preferably fried.

*"Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names: 2Pac, Makaveli, or simply Pac, was an American artist renowned for his rap music, movie roles, poetry, and his social activism. He is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the best selling hip-hop artist, with over seventy-five million albums sold worldwide[1] including over fifty million in the United States alone. Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up around violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society, and sometimes qualms with other fellow rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social, and racial equality as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and conflicts with the law. Many fans, critics, and industry insiders rank him as the greatest rapper ever."

Tupac was assassinated in an as yet unresolved drive-by shooting in new jersey in 1996.

Other notable Ice Cube Movies:

Dangerous Ground (1997) - often derided for good reasons as the plot is not tight and some of the acting is unconvincing, but as a movie that deals with relevant topics and Ice Cubes frustration with the influence of drugs in culture as an American returning to post apartheid South Africa is refreshing.

"Vusi Madlazi returns to the South African village he left as a young boy (he was organizing against apartheid, and left in fear of his life) to bury his father..Vusi proceeds to learn how conditions have changed since the end of apartheid, not always for the better for black men."

A movie very much about the use of drugs to destroy black solidarity.
