Poor analogy, I wouldn't question something I already believed if I found it on a site proclaims:

"This site is for all White people

We must unite to

Save our Heritage

or we will are doomed"

But of course mean "all CHRISTIAN White people" I would have looked for another source.

Regarding the claims of the book the West German government set up the Maschke Commission which investigated the deaths of German POWs 1962 - 74, it was headed by Erich Maschke, a respected historian who himself had been a POW held by the Soviets. According to author Prit Buttar it concluded that of 7.7 million men held by the western allies, "About 25,000 German prisoners died while in French custody, about 5,000 German prisoners died whilst being held by the Americans, compared with 1,300 deaths in British custody..."

Dwight D. Murphey (born June 14, 1934 in Tucson, Arizona) is a retired lawyer and professor of business law at Wichita State University. Murphey studied political science at the University of Colorado, graduating in 1954. He then did graduate studies in business at New York University from 1956 to 1957, and in law at the University of Denver from 1957 to 1959. Much of are documentations is conveniently missing. No such records exist anywhere in the West. In months of work in the archives of the West, I was never able to find the dossier for a single one of the 9 or so million prisoners held. Not one.

What indication is there that the cited records are complete?

Why should the US have kept extensive records on prisoners who were held briefly en masse?

The same might be said for his co-editor, Gunter Bischof, an Austrian. Keegan admires the "scholarship" of Bischof, but Bischof does not know a displaced persons camp from a prison camp. He chastises me for stating that there was a US Army prison camp at Ebensee in Austria: he says that the camp was for DPs. In fact, I have photocopies of General Mark Clark's secret report about the condition of prisoners of war in the camp, plus US Army medical reports of prisoners in the camp, plus eyewitness accounts of the catastrophe among dozens of thousands of prisoners, including the manuscript of a diary kept by the priest Franz Loidl who ministered to the dying. This manuscript is on deposit in the Church History Institute of the Catholic Theological Faculty, University of Vienna.

In the same book so admired by Keegan is a gross error made by Rudiger Overmanns, who does not even know the number of prisoners taken by the Americans. This was not 3.8 million as he says, but over 6 million, according to US Army records in Suitland, Maryland. Of course, this error, conveniently for Ambrose and Keegan, apparently diminishes the number of lives for which the Americans were responsible.

Underlying the Ambrose-Bischof book is a series on German prisoners edited by Erich Maschke. Underlying that series is no important documentation from the US Army archives in Washington. The author of the book on the American camps casually omits all the significant records that survived the paper purges of the late 1940s. However, for an expert judgment on the condition of American camps Mr Keegan may rely on the words of an American Lieutenant-Colonel who was in charge of the camps in France in 1945. In a report preserved at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Lieutenant-Colonel Henry W. Allard wrote that "the standards of PW camps in the Com Z in Europe compare as only slightly better or even with the living conditions of the Japanese PW camps our men tell us about, and unfavourably with those of the Germans". Let us remember that after the war, the Americans executed Japanese for precisely the crimes referred to by Allard.

He is unaware of the US Army report discovered by Richard Boylan, a senior archivist at the US National Archives, which confirms Lauben. The report plainly states that the "Other Loses" category of prisoners meant deaths and escapes.

This astounding fact is normally neglected by the Western apologists, unless they can also use it to hammer the Soviets, saying they all died in the Gulag. Since Baque's credibility is in doubt his undocumented claims can't redeem him. In the 60s and 70s a German commission, headed by a noted historian who had been a POW at the end WWII, spent 12 years looking into the fate of German POWs. The numbers they reached were orders of magnitude lower than Baque's. After his book was published 8 respected historians looked into his claims and found them to be baseless.

Lauben said on at least two occasions he'd been misquoted (see Nizkor link in my previous post). AFAIK Bacque has never posted the supposed report.

People missing after the most catastrophic war in history? How could that be? Get back to us with any evidence in support of Bacque's claim. That's another problem with his claims where were the millions of German's whose husbands, brothers, fathers etc. disappeared? In several Latin American countries there are large associations of the families of the disappeared even though the numbers involved are orders of magnitude below those claimed by Bacque but there don't seem to ever have such groups in Germany. And where are the millions of German POWs who survived the camps saying their comrades died in them?

First, I want you to picture something in your mind. You are a German soldier who survived through the battles of World II. You were not really politically involved, and your parents were also indifferent to politics, but suddenly your education was interrupted and you were drafted into the German army and told where to fight. Now, in the Spring of 1945, you see that your country has been demolished by the Allies, your cities lie in ruins, and half of your family has been killed or is missing. Now, your unit is being surrounded, and it is finally time to surrender. The fact is, there is no other choice.

It has been a long, cold winter. The German army rations have not been all that good, but you managed to survive. Spring came late that year, with weeks of cold rainy weather in demolished Europe. Your boots are tattered, your uniform is falling apart, and the stress of surrender and confusion lies ahead for you. Now, it is over, you must surrender or be shot. This is war and the real world.

You are taken as a German Prisoner of War into American hands. The Americans had 200 such Prisoner of War camps scattered across Germany. You are marched to a compound surrounded with barbed wire fences as far as the eye can see. Thousands upon thousands of your fellow German soldiers are already in this make‑shift corral. You see no evidence of a latrine and after three hours of marching through the mud of the spring rain, the comfort of a latrine is upper‑most in your mind. You are driven through the heavily guarded gate and find yourself free to move about, and you begin the futile search for the latrine.

No more time. You find a place and squat. First you were exhausted, then hungry, then fearful, and now; dirty. Hundreds more German prisoners are behind you, pushing you on, jamming you together and every one of them searching for the latrine as soon as they could do so. Now, late in the day, there is no space to even squat, much less sit down to rest your weary legs. None of the prisoners, you quickly learn, have had any food that day, in fact there was no food while in the American hands that any surviving prisoner can testify to. No one has eaten any food for weeks, and they are slowly starving and dying. But, they can't do this to us! There are the Geneva Convention rules for the treatment of Prisoners of War. There must be some mistake! Hope continues through the night, with no shelter from the cold, biting rain.

Your uniform is sopping wet, and formerly brave soldiers are weeping all around you, as buddy after buddy dies from the lack of food, water, sleep and shelter from the weather. After weeks of this, your own hope bleeds off into despair, and finally you actually begin to envy those who, having surrendered first manhood and then dignity, now also surrender life itself. More hopeless weeks go by. Finally, the last thing you remember is falling, unable to get up, and lying face down in the mud mixed with the excrement of those who have gone before.

Your body will be picked up long after it is cold, and taken to a special tent where your clothing is stripped off. So that you will be quickly forgotten, and never again identified, your dog‑tag is snipped in half and your body along with those of your fellow soldiers are covered with chemicals for rapid decomposition and buried. You were not one of the exceptions, for more than one million seven hundred thousand German Prisoners of War died from a deliberate policy of extermination by starvation, exposure, and disease, under direct orders of General Dwight David Eisenhower.

One month before the end of World War II, General Eisenhower issued special orders concerning the treatment of German Prisoners and specific in the language of those orders was this statement,

"Prison enclosures are to provide no shelter or other comforts."

Eisenhower biographer Stephen Ambrose, who was given access to the Eisenhower personal letters, states that he proposed to exterminate the entire German General Staff, thousands of people, after the war.

Eisenhower, in his personal letters, did not merely hate the Nazi Regime, and the few who imposed its will down from the top, but that HE HATED THE GERMAN PEOPLE AS A RACE. It was his personal intent to destroy as many of them as he could, and one way was to wipe out as many prisoners of war as possible.

Of course, that was illegal under International law, so he issued an order on March 10, 1945 and verified by his initials on a cable of that date, that German Prisoners of War be predesignated as "Disarmed Enemy Forces" called in these reports as DEF. He ordered that these Germans did not fall under the Geneva Rules, and were not to be fed or given any water or medical attention. The Swiss Red Cross was not to inspect the camps, for under the DEF classification, they had no such authority or jurisdiction.

Months after the war was officially over, Eisenhower's special German DEF camps were still in operation forcing the men into confinement, but denying that they were prisoners. As soon as the war was over, General George Patton simply turned his prisoners loose to fend for themselves and find their way home as best they could. Eisenhower was furious, and issued a specific order to Patton, to turn these men over to the DEF camps. Knowing Patton as we do from history, we know that these orders were largely ignored, and it may well be that Patton's untimely and curious death may have been a result of what he knew about these wretched Eisenhower DEF camps.

The book, OTHER LOSSES, found its way a few months ago into the hands of a Canadian news reporter, Peter Worthington, of the OTTAWA SUN. He did his own research through contacts he had in Canada, and reported in his column on September 12,1989 the following, in part:

"...it is hard to escape the conclusion that Dwight Eisenhower was a war criminal of epic proportions. His (DEF) policy killed more Germans in peace than were killed in the European Theater."

"For years we have blamed the 1.7 million missing German POW's on the Russians. Until now, no one dug too deeply ..."

Peter Worthington

(born February 16, 1927) is a Canadian journalist. A foreign correspondent with the Toronto Telegram newspaper from 1956, Worthington was an eyewitness to the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963, and can be seen in photographs of the event. He remained with the Telegram until it folded in 1971. Worthington was the founding editor of the Toronto Sun newspaper, which was created by former Telegram employees upon that newspaper's demise.

Early lifeThe son of Major-General F. F. Worthington, Peter Worthington is a veteran of both the Second World War and the Korean War. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve (RCNVR) in 1944 and served as an air gunner in the Fleet Air Arm until his discharge in 1946 with the rank of Sub-Lieutenant.

From there he went to the University of British Columbia. Worthington left the university before completing his degree and joined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry as a Lieutenant in 1950.

In the Korean War he was a platoon commander, then battalion intelligence officer in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) in Korea, and ended the war with the U.S. Air Force, 6147 Mosquito Squadron, directing air strikes at enemy targets.

After his discharge, he returned to the University of British Columbia. He received a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a bachelor's in journalism at Carleton University.[1].

[edit] Toronto TelegramIn 1956 he joined the staff at the Toronto Telegram newspaper. One of early assignments was to cover the Canadian troops stationed in the Gaza Strip. Canadian forces were sent under the directions of the United Nations. From that beginning, he would go on to interview King Hussein of Jordan in 1958, Thomas Anthony Dooley III in 1959, and Albert Schweitzer in 1960.

In April 1961, Worthington was in Algiers, and on May 15, 1961 Worthington was in Luanda, Angola, covering the Portuguese Colonial War. In 1962 he was in Netherlands New Guinea, covering the invasion of the country by Indonesia. He was also in the North East frontier of India and China when Chinese forces invaded in that same year.

On assignment for the Telegram, Worthington was in Dallas on November 25, 1963, where he was an eyewitness to the killing of Lee Harvey Oswald. He covered the trial of Jack Ruby in February 1964.

Starting in January 1965, Worthington was posted in Moscow. In 1967 he was assigned to Cairo, where he covered the Six-Day War. On August 21, 1968 he was in Prague, Czechoslovakia.

Worthington covered the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 to 1970 in a series of reports that resulted in his second of four National Newspaper Awards and a National Newspaper Citation.

Editor of the Toronto SunOn Saturday September 18, 1971 the Telegram announced it was closing. Joining former employees of the Telegram, a new tabloid was started (the Toronto Sun newspaper), the first edition appearing Monday, November 1, 1971, a day after the last edition of the Telegram. Worthington was the new paper's founding editor-in-chief.

A conservative, Worthington led the brash new tabloid throughout the 1970s as it campaigned against the government of Pierre Trudeau. In 1978 he became the first Canadian journalist to be charged under the Official Secrets Act for a column in the Sun identifying 16 Canadians who had been recruited by the KGB into treasonous acts on behalf of the Soviet Union. After a year of preliminary hearings, the case was thrown out of court.

Following the 1981 police raid of gay bathhouses in Toronto, Worthington, in an editorial and again in an interview with CBC Radio's Sunday Morning threatened to publish the name of future found-ins.[1]

Political careerWorthington stepped down as editor of the Toronto Sun in order to enter politics in 1982. He sought the nomination of the Progressive Conservative Party for a by-election in Toronto's Broadview—Greenwood riding, but was defeated in a hotly-contested campaign in which the six candidates sold thousands of party memberships.

Worthington lost the nomination to Bill Fatsis, who was supported by the riding's large Greek-Canadian population. Worthington then ran as an independent candidate, and placed a strong second to the winner, New Democrat Lynn McDonald. He succeeded in becoming the official Progressive Conservative candidate for the riding in the 1984 general election, but was again defeated by McDonald.

Return to the SunAfter resigning as Toronto Sun editor and taking a leave of absence for his political campaigns, Worthington returned as a columnist for the Toronto Sun and its sister newspapers. In 1989, he was fired by publisher Doug Creighton after being quoted in a rival newspaper saying that the Sun was not a serious newspaper. He was re-hired soon after to be founding editor of the Ottawa Sun for a year, when that paper was relaunched as a daily, and returned to the Toronto Sun and the Sun chain as a columnist. He continues today as a columnist for Sun Media's parent, QMI.

Political viewsWorthington is a committed conservative and anti-Communist. Less well known is his support for animal welfare and animal rights and long-time involvement with the Toronto Humane Society

Alleged FBI informantWorthington was accused by the Ottawa Citizen of being an informant for the American Federal Bureau of Investigation about the suspected political sympathies of a number of his friends, including June Callwood.[2][3] Worthington filed a complaint against the Ottawa Citizen with the Ontario Press Council and won a categorical apology for its error.

In 1996 Worthington was inducted into the Canadian News Hall of Fame.[4]

Despite your absurdly over long post the only thing in it resembling evidence are two short supposed quotes from a supposed review of the book. Get back to us with evidence Worthington really said those things and based them on "his own research through contacts he had in Canada" rather than simply swallowing Baque's claims. Even if that was the case how would the conclusions of a Canadia journalist (who presumably did not speak German) who spent a few weeks looking into this by calling other Canadians in 1989 more authoritative than those a commission of German historians who researched it for 12 years starting in 1962?

Yes that was the author's opinion for which he provided no evidence. Odd that if it truely were a war crime no one tried bringing charges against Ike, Truman or the others involved. The reclassification has been explained and was ordered by Ike's superiors; there simply was not enough food in Europe to feed the civilians and POWs at the same level as American GIs. So to comply with the Geneva Convention the US would had to have given the prisoners more food than civilians.
