  1. Interesting that this should come up, because I’ve always wondered why we argue about the detail of whether LHO was being dangled in a mole hunt and ignore the OBVIOUS evidence that Oswald was a spy working for U.S. intelligence. As I’ve said before, even the cover story for the 1959 “defection” shows Oswald was a spy. But the circumstances around the 1963 passport is just more evidence that he worked for U.S. intelligence. On June 24, 1963, Russian-speaking Lee HARVEY Oswald (the same LHO who “defected” to Russia in 1959) appeared at the U.S. Passport Office in New Orleans and applied for a passport. The new passport was issued the very next day, despite the fact Oswald indicated on the application he was going to visit the USSR and then-Communist Poland. Sheesh. This obvious traitor, who should have already been prosecuted, was given the OK by State Department to possibly defect again! CLICK HERE to see the application and, in the document at the upper right, the evidence that Oswald stated he would, again, go to the USSR. Starting on page 773, the Warren Report includes an elaborate discussion of why the State Department simply HAD to issue Oswald a new passport in 1963, and I don’t believe a word of it. No doubt some people will say they do believe it, but I doubt anyone critical of the Warren findings would be so sanguine.
  2. Matt, Thanks for the above. This is interesting material, much of which is new to me. One thing on the U-2 flights…. A number of people (including Francis Gary Powers, if memory serves) said they believed Oswald had something to do with the shoot down. But this is actually just one of several examples of the real genius of the Oswald Project. Russian-speaking HARVEY Oswald was never stationed in the radar bubble near the U-2 facilities in Japan. It was actually American-born LEE Harvey Oswald who was there. In 1995, John Armstrong interviewed Zack Stout, who was in the radar bubble at Atsugi with LHO. John asked Zack Stout if Oswald ever spoke Russian around him and he answered: "Where do people come up with these stupid ideas? That's ridiculous. No, he never spoke Russian or had a Russian book or a Russian newspaper. If he had any of those things, all of us would have known about it." It was Lee HARVEY Oswald who spoke Russian while in the Marines, not the LHO who served in the radar bubble.
  3. John, My Epson flatbed scanner lives again, and I've emailed you a compact pdf version of the Christina Tippit Brown document recently conveyed via Android. Please let me know if you don't have it. Jim
  4. John, The 9-page file from Westport just arrived via snailmail. Please check your email. The attachment is more than 5Mb so it may not go through. Let me know if you don't get it and we'll figure out something else. My usually trusty flatbed scanner wouldn't wake up, and so I had to scan it with my phone. It's all readable, though. Jim
  5. After reading the introduction and first chapter of State Secret, it was just such a shock to see all those references to Oswald being “a spy in his own mind.” To me, even the cover story makes his spy status obvious: Here’s this Commie-spouting, Russian-speaking U.S. Marine who sat in the U2 radar bubble in Japan, who gets an early discharge because of his mother’s sore nose, and somehow converts military script into the cash needed to travel (staying in first class hotels) to the Soviet Union and hire a private tour guide. He says in the undoubtedly bugged U.S. embassy in Moscow that he’s going to tell the Russians everything he knows, and, when the adventure is over the State Department loans him the money to return to the U.S. and, according to the CIA, the Agency doesn’t even bother to speak to him, even though a U2 is shot down less than a year after the “defection.” And just a few years later, Oswald is granted a passport AGAIN, perhaps so he can “defect” yet again. To me, this doesn’t even pass the smell test. And, to get back to the subject matter of this thread, isn’t it remarkable that the FBI canceled the security alert on Oswald on the very same day that Agency cable indicated Russia clearly “had maturing effect on Oswald.”
  6. Are you deliberately misrepresenting our position? Did you read the very first post of this thread after the actual document (emphasis added)? So, since "Oswald"/Harvey was NOT the biological son of Emil Gardos, then there is only one other possibility: Emil and Grace Gardos (and their real son, John) were his caretakers for a bit in Yorkville in the 1940's. The woman caller saw them together and made the natural (but wrong) assumption that our little boy "Oswald"/Harvey was their other son.
  7. Matt, Like a number of other JFK assassination researchers, I believe John Arrmstrong has essentially solved this case (though we’ll probably never know the actual shooters). I’ve been presenting evidence here for many years. Just because you came along in the last few months demanding this and demanding that doesn’t mean I’m going to go over it all again. I would be criticized if I did. If you’re interested, though, there are many lengthy threads on this board about Harvey and Lee that I started and/or made major contributions to. Try this one. I created the Harvey and Lee website a quarter century ago, which was always based on John Armstrong’s work, even in the years before he started contributing to it and making it so much better. Just about anything you want to know about the evidence for the Two Oswalds can be studied there. Hopefully none of the material presented on this forum is about my claims, or yours, or John Armstrong’s. It is about the EVIDENCE. On the previous page, I just showed you school records, published in the Warren volumes, that show one LHO attended school in NYC throughout the fall semester of the 1953-1954 school year, while another attended school in New Orleans during the same period. Is this kind of evidence what you call a charade?
  8. Matt, There is evidence that Russian-speaking Harvey Oswald lived in Texas from July 1947 to Aug. 1948. Before then and after then, for the rest of the 1940s up until mid-1952, there is no strong evidence indicating where he was. This is complicated, because both of the LHOs moved often. Even after studying this material for a quarter century, I still have to review notes sometimes to remember the specifics. One VERY helpful document is a lengthy spreadsheet developed over the years by David Josephs. It shows where each Oswald was on a month to month, sometimes even day by day, basis. I’d be happy to send it to you if you’d like.
  9. As I already stated here, it’s a little more complicated than that. During the early months of 1953, Russian-speaking Lee HARVEY Oswald was truanting school in NYC, serving a brief sentence in Youth House, and then probably was relocated to North Dakota to avoid the NYC judicial system, and, by late summer 1953 was being eased into the New Orleans public school system by taking just two classes for a semester. He stayed in New Orleans until mid-1954. After a brief period in Fort Worth, TX, he was back in New Orleans, at least until late 1955. Throughout 1953, American-born LEE Harvey Oswald was living in the Bronx, NYC and attending school regularly. In early 1954, LEE moved to New Orleans, staying for most of the year at 1454 St. Mary’s, Apt. 6, and then at 126 Exchange until mid-1956. The Warren Commission published documents showing that, while one LHO was attending school in NYC, the other was in school in New Orleans. This NYC Board of Education record shows that LEE Harvey Oswald attended Public School 44 in New York from 3/23/53 until Jan. 1954. But these Beauregard New Orleans records show HARVEY Oswald attended 89 days of school during the fall semester of 1953, at the same time LEE Oswald attended PS 44 in New York City. Harvey only took Phys Ed and Science during the fall 1953 semester at Beauregard, probably because his handlers were worried about his truancy in NYC, which nearly exposed the Oswald Project.
  10. Sandy, Bentley did, however, spend considerable portions of her life in NYC, and it seems entirely reasonable to believe she would have expected greater anonymity as a “resident” of New York City than as an inhabitant of Connecticut. The caller’s choice of the Tippits puzzled me for a long time, but the probable solution is that although she honestly feared being killed, she wasn’t as afraid of the Commies as she was of the spooks running the Oswald Project in America. No doubt it was obvious to her that “Lee Harvey Oswald” was a U.S. intelligence op. Matt, Thanks for the YouTube link. NoTrueFlags’ belief that Harvey Oswald was at any time “controlled by the Communists” while in the U.S. is at odds with John Armstrong’s careful analysis. I agree with you that searching for refugees with a name similar to any part of “Lee Harvey Oswald” would be in all likelihood fruitless. Harvey was probably given his name and new identity after he was already at least a landed immigrant. Lately, I’ve been looking for any association between Edwin Ekdahl and groups such as the U.S. Committee for the Care of European Children and the like, without the slightest success so far. As time permits, I’ll do the same with Gardos, Blair and Weinstock, but even this approach is probably a very long shot.
  11. According to an AP story entitled “Refugee Children Learn Rapidly in the U.S.” from the 5/30/1948 edition of the Richmond-Times Dispatch, U.S. INS figures “show 28,789 displaced persons came to the United States between late December, 1945 and Nov. 30, 1947. Ninety-eight percent were from Europe, among them Austrians, Czechs, Germans, Poles, Hungarians and Yugolslavs.” The article goes on to name agencies active in bringing WWII era children to the U.S., which included Church World Service, United States Service for New Americans, Catholic Committee for Refugees, and United States Committee for the Care of European Children. According to one organization's spokesman, “The speed with these youngsters become part of American life is amazing…. they fairly gulp the English language.” And then the article summarized the situation for war orphans coming here:
  12. Thanks, David. Searching for "Lee Henry Oswald" on the database, the first six hits did not include a page with that material, which struck me as odd.
  13. Just asking once more.... Can anyone find a copy on the Mary Ferrell JFK assassination database of the infamous 10/10/1963 CIA cable which includes the sentence: "US EMB MOSCOW STATED TWENTY MONTHS OF REALITIES OF LIFE IN SOVIET UNION HAD CLEARLY HAD MATURING EFFECT ON OSWALD". Can anyone explain why this document was produced the same day the FBI cancelled the security watch on "Lee Harvey Oswald?"
  14. I stopped reading it at that point also. If memory serves, Mr. Simpich said at least three times near the start of his book that Oswald “was a spy in his own mind.” Despite the obvious scholarship of State Secret, the author apparently didn’t even consider the possibility that “Lee Harvey Oswald” was, in fact, an actual spy! This despite the fact that CIA accountant James Wilcott testified that he made payments to an encrypted account for “Oswald or the Oswald Project” and told HSCA staffers that Oswald’s CIA cryptonym was RX-ZIM. Richard Sprague, Richard Schweiker, and CIA agents Donald Norton and Joseph Newbrough all said LHO was associated with the CIA. Oswald owned an expensive Minox spy camera, which the FBI tried to make disappear. CIA's Ann Egerter, who worked for J.J. Angleton's Counterintelligence Special Interest Group (CI/SIG), opened a "201" file on Oswald on December 9, 1960. Egerter testified to the HSCA: "We were charged with the investigation of Agency personnel....” When asked if the purpose was to "investigate Agency employees," she answered, "That is correct." When asked, "Would there be any other reason for opening up a file?" she answered, "No, I can't think of one." No one has yet explained how, before ever setting foot in the Soviet Union, Oswald scored equally on Russian-language and English-language exams in the U.S. Marine Corps. How? Mr. Simpich’s desire to discuss all this civilly is admirable, and I respect him for that. And despite the apparent culpability of a number of Agency and Bureau officials in the assassination of JFK, I still believe the U.S. government, as a whole, was then and remains now better than most others.
  15. Wikipedia: Russian War Relief (RWR) (also known as the Russian War Relief Fund and The American Committee for Russian War Relief) was the largest American agency for foreign war relief. It had the "express and exclusive purpose of giving succor to the Russian people at a time of crisis." According to the Feb. 8, 1945 edition of the Mount Vernon Argus (White Plains, New York—emphasis added): The Mount Vernon Russian War Relief Committee held an executive board meeting this week at the home of the chairman, Mrs. Jacob Rabkin, 312 East Devonia Avenue. Mrs. Grace Gardos, publicity director of the National Russian War Relief Society, announced that February is Russian War Relief “food month”….. No mention is made in the article of refugees, war orphans, or immigrants, but near the end of the article it mentions that RWR sent aid of nearly $23,000,000 in 1944 to Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Russia, and possibly other nations. A fellow has been sending me all kinds of news clippings about WWII refugees, especially involving the U.S. and organizations from the US. So far, I haven’t seen RWR named, but personnel from that committee surely ran into organizations such as “Care of European Children” (see below). From the Buffalo News of Feb. 11, 1947:
