There is a new article and audio interview on my main site.

In this conversation Gerry Hemming discusses with researcher, Greg Burnham, the details surrounding the Military Intelligence briefing that he and his team attended in preparation for the President's visit to Miami. At the time of this conversation (1998) Hemming still remained very angry about this briefing--even though it was now 35 years after the fact.

Greg, if GPH was so spooked at the circumstances offered to Interpen members at Miami, why did he show up at Dealey Plaza?

What did GPH say was his mission at Dealey Plaza? Did he ever speak of other Interpen members being at Dealey that day?

David,

I believe Hemming said he was in Florida at the time.

Tommy - you're correct. GPH did maintain that he was in Florida on Nov 22.

What about the photos of the tall, crew-cutted guy on Houston Street, and after the shooting near the east pergola, that so much resemble GPH, and have been taken for GPH by some researchers?

Have these pictures been discredited? Because that looks like GPH to me.

Did GPH ever comment on these pictures?

Did he tell Oliver Stone he was in Miami when he was hired as a Dealey Plaza consultant on JFK?

David,

Hemming was not in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963, in my opinion. I don't think the tall tramp was Sturgis, the old one was Hunt, or the other one was David Christ. I don't think Felipe Vidal Santiago was the DCM either.

Hemming not only denied the photo was of him, but he ridiculed the individual(s) who made the claim. I don't know off the top of my head what he told Stone about that.

Let me reiterate that when I first spoke to Gerry--and continuing for about a year after that--I treated him with disdain; as a suspect. Over time that opinion changed. Noel Twyman had a similar experience.

David,

Do you mean the tall guy with the crew cut and the tie in the background of this photo?

PS I would be interested in seeing a photo of the same guy near the east pergola after the assassination. I don't know that I've ever seen that. Can you share that with us (or refer me to it)? Thanks.

Tommy,

The tall man from Houston Street appears to be standing alone at near center rear, against the back of the northeast pergola in this Frank Cancellare photo.

I cannot upload a larger version, but the largest version I can find quickly is on this page at Robin Unger's photo gallery (click photo to open larger):

Above the "Hemming" figure, inside the pergola, is an interesting figure that appears to be a uniformed Dallas policeman without his cap. I wish I could access a version of the Cancellare photo with better resolution to confirm that it is a policeman, and to better understand the relationship between these two figures. Perhaps Robin Unger can comment, or perhaps the "policeman" can be found in other photos.

A few years ago (and a few hard drives ago) I was better able to make out the faces and other details of these two figures from another version of the Cancellare photo. At the time, I felt that there was enough detail to judge that this was a policeman, and that there was some interaction going on between him and "Hemming." Which, at the time, made me wonder: Why is a very busy cop, with a crowd around him, having a parley with this guy?

If I recall right, this picture was discussed in a thread at EF before 2010, and back then the consensus was that this figure is the man from Houston Street, whether it is Hemming or not. Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Notice that the man carries an overcoat, consistent with accounts of a tall man with a gun concealed under a coat over his forearm, whom some witnesses took for a security operative. Can we reference those accounts for any more circumstantial evidence?

Useful to compare the jawline and hair in this recently posted photo of Hemming with the appearance of the tall man photographed on Houston Street shown in Tommy's post above (see Robin Unger's gallery for a larger version of the Houston Street photo):
