John Armstrong was in Alaska when this happened.

He did a hell of a lot of work on this and it is contained in his papers at Baylor, which are on-line....

....The man was Neil Bergt, a former airline pilot for Western Airlines. This man got his start by taking over, from the National Bank of Alaska, two Hercules airplanes that were in bankrupcy. The story goes that Bergt "leased" the planes to a south American government until construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline began (this may be BS...... they were probably leased to CIA).

After the pipeline began Bergt, and his small airline, were the only people allowed to haul freight to the North Slope (now that takes some serious political connections).

According to this 1982 newspaper reporting, Elmer Rasmuson, associated with the National Bank of Alaska for forty years, controlled 55 percent of the Bank's stock.

The "book" I posted, clearly shows Neil Bergt hired by longtime Alaskan bush pilot,

....Planeload after planeload of "booze, girls and prospectors" were hauled to the site, one source says, before et was discovered the story was , or rather, Some suspected that Mr. Magoffin spread the rumor to hypo fits business, but he says the villain was a preacher who had flown on one of his flights.

The tiny company s first beg growth came m the early 1950s, when et begun hauling materials for of a US detection system en Alaska.

Annual revenue jumped to around $2 million from $100000.

Not long afterward, an unemployed 21year-old pilot, the

the ink barely dry on his license, arrived in Fairbanks from Anchorage with only the E20 he had won the night before m an Anchorage crap game.

The hired him, and until he drew his first paycheck, Mr. Magoffin put him up in a spare room at home.

The pilot, Neil G. Bergt, later became the airline s president. In the early 1960s, Interior hauled oil geologists around the North Slope of the Brooks Range.

Then en July 1968, word of a major oit discovery at Prudhoe Bay flashed around the world, and Interior began to think it might be handy to have a Lockheed Hercules for hauling things Irks drilling rigs.

Until then, tt had operated only light ,in;,le?and twin-engine airplanes. bit.

Magoffin set out to find ;4 million to buy a Herc.

Seattle was the first stop, but he recalls, "The bank took one look at our financial statement and said it wouldn't jus- :~fy a peanut s4and, let alone a $4 million " For six weeks, the search went ..n "I missed my son s wedding and the of"rang day of duck-hunting season, some- !l;ma I hadn't done since I was six years ~?~~....

My "book" post displays early 1970 reporting of Neil Bergt as "vice-president" of the James Magoffin founded airline. Late in the year, after a bankruptcy filing caused by suspension of North Slope activity related to environmental litigation challenges, the restructured airline was lead by Bergt as new president, to satisfy bankruptcy financing demands, and Magoffin as chairman.

When North Slope pipeline construction resumed, the airline did what it already had been doing, hauling air freight in large cargo planes. I see no evidence of political clout resulting in exclusivity of this air cargo business.

Anyway, this man went on to purchase many local airlines including Wein Airlines, Reeve Aleutian Airways, Northern Commerical Airways, and a host of other airlines in Alaska. He became, according to the New York Times, the richest man in Alaska during the

1980's. Now comes the good part....

When Bergt and his wife got a divorce she told the press (see Anchorage Daily News) that Bergt had worked with the CIA for years (that explaines his connections via hauling to the North Slope--FAA approvals). It also connects Bergt to Bogg's death via his connection with the company that leased the airplane that crashed with Boggs and Begich aboard, and could also explain why this plane was never found.

Bergt himself had made no secret of his longtime ties to the CIA, (as reported in 2004 by the Village Voice).

Jim, the story here is that GW Bush and his father were enmeshed with CIA and with Bergt from the early 70's. GW Bush's Yale roommate was an Alaska politician sponsored since the 70's by Bergt.

In contrast, the ties between Bergt and Bogg's death in a 1972 plane crash are at best, tenuous to the point that there seems no point in mentioning them. Where can you go with that information, by the criteria of your own standard, as applied to the Bushes and the Assassination of JFK? GW Bush deliberately avoided any disclosure of seeking out, and then accepting work with Neil Bergt in 1974.

I think if you applied the same approach and standards to consideration of all of the evidence in this pursuit, uncovering who was involved in the murders of JFK and LHO, and then in the cover up, you would have at least mentioned that Bergt was associated with the Bushes.

I think I've now provided some balance. Isn't my response along similar lines to what you observed of Torbitt, that everything under the sun was linked to the assassination plot, except the CIA?

I was not familiar with Bergt. I read your post, I found the description of his political clout, intriguing. When I looked deeper, I found the real story to be about GW Bush and his father.

Jim, this is what I am trying to influence.... and I promise, if you can come around to fully supporting this....pressuring these old men, even one of them, to share the truth with the public, you won't be embarrassed, and you won't regret it.:

I am hoping George HW Bush, Thomas J Devine, John D Macomber, Joseph F. Dryer, John PC Train, and Lester Crown --- do not ALL want the following to be their "On Line", legacy. Unless one changes course and attempts to clear up the well supported impressions they are leaving, these observations will be lasting parts of their legacies,

We dp not have much time to gather and share additional information before these six old men become incapable of choosing to speak candidly, hence we must quickly lay more details in front of them, in the fading hope of moving one or more of them away from their longstanding silence or obfuscation.

Please read this post with an inclination as to what you can do to help end the 21 years old absurdity of GHW Bush claiming that...

A hop, skip, and a jump.:

Read who the best man was in William HG Fitzgerald's 1943 wedding.:

Thanks for your input David, I agree with your assessment.

And great pix Bernice.

Also, a tip of that hat to Tom Scully for filling me in on the fact that the Desmond Fitzgerald, son of the former Ambassador to Ireland, is still alive in Connecticut, so he can't be Desmond Fitz of the CIA.

Why am I not surprised there are two Desmond Fitzgeralds?

I can't wait to catch up with the Bill Kelly who keeps getting me in trouble.

I'd like to read an obit for the CIA's Desmond Fitzgerald, but I can't seem to find one on line.

Deceptive Investing

Harvard’s shady deal with Harken smacks of corporate decadence and irresponsibility

By The CRIMSON Staff,

....Harvard’s involvement in Harken Energy Company began just a couple of months after George W. Bush joined Harken’s board of directors. At the time the Harvard Corporation, the University’s seven-member top governing board, included Robert G. Stone Jr. ’45 among its members. Stone retired from the Corporation last spring; he remains a director of Harvard Management Company, Harvard’s investment arm. Stone is a fellow Texas oil executive and a contributor to Bush-family political campaigns. Such close ties between Harvard and Harken offer a possible explanation for Harvard’s involvement with the ailing company, raising the troubling possibility of cronyism driving Harvard’s investments.....

There is nothing inherently odd about Boggs' plane not being found, the wrecks of lots of planes that crash in isolated areas are never found. Steve Fossett's plane was discovered by hiker who happened to wander through the area and the Sierra Nevadas are a lot less isolated than the wilds of Alaska

In this new interview Nick Begich talks about the strange circumstances surrounding the deaths of his father, the Congressman from Alaska, and of Representative Hale Boggs in October 1972. He shows how the Watergate scandal might have elevated Boggs to become President and how just prior to his death Boggs was advocating the reopening of the Warren Commission of which he was a member. (Could it be that Boggs had connected the dots between the JFK assassination and Watergate and was determined to expose these?)

Begich also discloses that while the wreckage of the plane that carried Boggs and his father was never found, documents obtained under FOIA by a publication reveal that the U.S. government was aware at the time of the incident that two of the plane’s occupants were alive at the crash site.

The above observations by Begich are made in the fifth and final video. However, the preceding four videos contain vital information by him on a number of important subjects and viewing them is time well spent.

Thomas Hale Boggs was a member of the Warren Commission. Boggs originally agreed that John F. Kennedy and J. D. Tippit had been killed by Lee Harvey Oswald and that Jack Ruby was not part of any conspiracy. However, later he began to have doubts claiming that "Hoover lied his eyes out on Oswald, on Ruby, on their friends, you name it."

Thomas Hale Boggs disappeared while on a campaign flight from Anchorage to Juneau, Alaska, on 16th October, 1972. No bodies were ever found.

The Los Angeles Star, on November 22, 1973, reported that before his death Boggs claimed he had "startling revelations" on Watergate and the assassination of JFK.

Sounds very interesting John!

Jerrys Word haha...I rather prefer the following statement.

With no emotion in his voice, but with his hand trembling, Angleton replied: “Fundamentally, the founding fathers of U.S. intelligence were liars. The better you lied and the more you betrayed, the more likely you would be promoted. These people attracted and promoted each other. Outside of their duplicity, the only thing they had in common was a desire for absolute power. I did things that, in looking back on my life, I regret. But I was part of it and I loved being in it... Allen Dulles, Richard Helms, Carmel Offie, and Frank Wisner were the grand masters. If you were in a room with them you were in a room full of people that you had to believe would deservedly end up in hell.” Angleton slowly sipped his tea and then said, “I guess I will see them there soon.”
