  1. Hey Len, Yes, he was. Apologies, I knew when he died, and what I wrote above was a mistake. I edited my above post to fix it and I posted a quick thanks for pointing it out to me. Also, I've looked into this case in particular quite a bit in the past, I've watched various documentaries on it, posted about it on another forum and so on. I found it truly fascinating, although let's just say I wouldn't exactly call myself an expert just yet. Far from it. With posting this thread I'd be interested to hear what everyone's opinion on it is, that's all. I wanted to take an opportunity to try and learn more about it from those who've been looking into it for a great deal longer than me. Well, I know this may not exactly be seen as "evidence", but the reason why I think it's certainly possible that his death was "planned" is, and I believe I'm right in saying that (1) He was being closely watched by the Cointelpro program, one which perhaps can be tied to other illegal activities in the past such as burglaries and even potentially causing death (2) William O'Neal was an informant working for them getting close to Hampton, in charge of security for him in fact and (3) He's said to have provided information to the FBI prior to a raid which took place on Hampton's apartment where he, along with Mark Clark, were killed. According to later investigations the vast majority of the bullets fired were being fired into the building as well. That, for example, is why I'm inclined to believe Hampton's death may have been planned by higher officials and then put into action.
  2. Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I just assumed. Anyway, here's some information from the Spartacus.Schoolnet site. (Source)Here's a documentary on him: The Murder of Fred Hampton, part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn0PiDvVXDY The Murder of Fred Hampton, part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgwrD-dOI70&feature=relmfu The Murder of Fred Hampton, part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6CEaS0PBhc&feature=relmfu The Murder of Fred Hampton, part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPrYLhh2mPs&feature=relmfu He really is a fascinating person in my opinion, and It's a shame he went when he did. And how he did. I've posted this thread as well because I'm going to write up an article on him for my site (which is mainly JFK related but I wanted other topics from the time too) and I'm just looking for as much information on him as I can find, all of which is accurate too. Edit: Here's an interesting article in the Chicago Tribune too: The Black Panther Raid and the death of Fred Hampton
  3. Hey all, As well as the JFK case, there’s other incidents from American history, despite me being a Brit here, that I just find truly fascinating. The case of Civil Rights leader Fred Hampton is certainly one of those. Supposedly, to cut a long story short, he was murdered through the rather controversial Cointelpro program during a raid on his apartment while he slept on the 4th of December, 1969. Information on his apartment coming from and being provided to the FBI by William O’Neal I believe, an informant for the FBI who got close to Hampton and was later found through the Church Committee. It’s said he specifically gave them information on the whereabouts of Hampton's bedroom in particular, this being where most of the shots were fired into from the outside after a failed raid and then subsequent shootout, although as far as I'm aware there's little evidence to say that many, if any shots at all, were fired *from* the apartment itself, instead most of the shots (all but maybe the very first) being fired into the building. As well as providing information to the FBI O'Neal is said to have even drugged Hampton prior to the raid so he wouldn't wake up when it took place, and so on. His death, one I’m sure most reading will know at least something about, is pretty fascinating and is potentially a murder ordered by the highest levels of the FBI who were already keeping a close eye on him among other people of importance with-in the movement. Due to the events surrounding his death and the rather knowledgeable people present on this forum here, I’d really appreciate hearing what everyones opinion on his death is. Was there almost certainly a murder taking place, which is what I personally do believe occurred at this time, or is there perhaps too much dis/misinformation out there? I’m genuinely curious to know. Edited to correct a typo as pointed out to me by Len Colby below.
  4. I don't post too much admittedly but I have to say, I'm very much looking forward to reading this as well. Thanks for posting about it. The calendar has been marked.
  5. Hey there Rodney, I hope you're doing well. Yeah it was down for a short while yesterday, I think an hour or so at a maximum (Although I'm not even sure how long exactly to be honest). It's still new and everything though so I've been working on various stuff, such as a new layout for example. I brought it down a few times while I worked on that as at times it looked rather messy let's say - All is working now however and I have something set up which I'm happy with. But yeah, that's why it my have been down. In regards to thing's picking up.. they have done. A lot. I was kind of surprised by it to be completely honest - Around 100 or so posts in the space of a few days which is great for a forum this old in my opinion. For that, I have to give credit to this thread posted here by Robert and I am genuinely grateful because a lot of work has gone into it, as well as the main site I'm working on as well, so it really would've been a shame to see it never leave the ground so to speak. To get a forum going is tough, very tough. For one person it can be a lot of work and is very time consuming as well. But that's why a bit of extra help like this is greatly appreciated.
  6. Hello Mr. Hall, Thank you. And thanks to all those who choose to join and share some of their knowledge. It is appreciated at least by me.
  7. Hey Kathleen,

No, I know on the internet not everyone's going to be so comfortable with throwing out their personal details so I'm not making it so using real names are mandatory. I've used mine though to try and promote that use and to show it's ok and everything but nothing like that is being forced. I just don't think it's entirely fair.

  8. Hello, Well this was a bit of a surprise to see admittedly, lol. But a nice surprise as it's my forum being advertised, I set it up with-in the last week or so now. I agree with Robert, no one has to, or is being asked to leave this forum. Far from it. I like it here myself, some of the debates I've read (as I have been more of a reader than a poster) have been truly fascinating, have been full of knowledge and I really do hope they continue. With setting up my forum though I originally wanted to have a place of discussion of my own though, an add-on to the main site I was building up - This site being something which I hoped would become something that helped in learning more about this overall case, the JFK case, and in turn hopefully helping some others as well as I wanted to try and gather as much information on all areas of the case as I possibly could. It's a rather large project I guess but one I thought was more than worth doing still - Even after almost 50 years, I hardly think this is a case that should be easily forgotten or dismissed really. But anyway, thank you for posting my forum here. That was nice, I do appreciate it. It's still very new of course as was highlighted already and I'm still working on getting it fully up and running exactly the way I want it, such as setting up a new layout which I was actually working on just before I stumbled across this thread, but I like to think it's slowly getting there. Thanks..
  9. Hello John, Yes, it is a very interesting case to discuss and think about I've found. In fact It's just one of those cases which, after you've started to look into it even a little bit, you find just impossible to ignore. I'm also pretty interested in other cases as well btw, such as the RFK assassination, the Chappaquiddick incident, the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, Jack the Ripper, the unfortunate death of Marilyn Monroe, Lee Bowers, Dorothy Kilgallen and many more. On another forum I'm a member of I think I've wrote about all of these cases if I remember right. So because of this I may start up some threads on this forum in the near future to hopefully have the opinions of those who know these cases very well.
  10. Hello to all who may read this post. On another forum that I'm a frequent member of I recently started a thread on the topic of James Kelly and his potential connection to the original Jack the Ripper from the late 1800's, but upon doing some research into this character I found that towards the end of his life, and shortly after returning to broadmoor asylum after a dramatic escape around 40 years earlier, he's said to have wrote out a rather detailed "end of life confession" as it's sometimes known, or a diary of his movements in the time he went missing from 1888 to 1927. Particularly discussing his time in America for example. As far as I'm aware though nothing has ever been admitted in this diary of his but It's claimed that subtle hints connecting him to the Ripper can be found, such as, I believe, a claim that "I have been on the warpath since I left Broadmoor." And he's also said to have shown his strong distaste for certain women, referring to them as "skank." In starting this thread however I'd like to ask if anyone out there knowns of any copy of what was in this diary of his exactly? Is there a transcript of it anywhere online perhaps? I'd love to read through it in full myself after all especially as opposed to solely relying on the claims made by the single source where I've come across it... which is this documentary titled: Jack the Ripper - In America. (Shown below) (I'm only allowed to post a certain number of media files so I'm afraid all I can post is part 1 of this documentary) I've not looked into all the strong candidates for Jack the Ripper admittedly, instead I've used a lot of time looking at just Kelly so I'd be grateful to hear opinions from others who have been looking into this case for a great deal longer than me also. Thanks for your time. Edit: Here's an interesting source on James Kelly: Casebook: Jack the Ripper - James Kelly
  11. Hello, My name’s Billy, I’m 19 years old and I’m currently living in the UK where I’ve been all my life so far. I came across the JFK assassination over a year ago now where I chose to look into it just by chance (I guess I wanted to see “what it was all about”) and ever since I’ve just been so fascinated with the entire case, particularly Lee Harvey Oswald, his time in Russia, the possibility of Intelligence work involving the assassination of JFK, and of course the events surrounding his death at the hands of Jack Ruby. Ever since looking into this case just over a year ago and a few months now, I’ve been looking for as much information as I can possibly find such as from reading assassination books, watching documentaries and YouTube videos on the case, debating on other online forums and so on. I ended up setting up a small website a few months ago to help with research that little bit more as well. In joining this forum I’m probably going to be more of a reader than a poster as I still consider myself new to the case, although I do feel as though I have a good grasp on it still (just not as much as many here of course). I feel as though a lot can be learned from a forum like this though and it may be somewhat intimidating at times, but I’d still like to try and have the opportunity to contribute wherever possible. Thanks for having me. All the best, Billy.
