So people are suspect just because they worked for the government, that is of course unless they are telling what you want to hear. But even IF you are correct and the HPA'a claims are suspect your source committed a lie of omission in not informing his readers about it. He wrote "The London coroner has never even concluded that Litvinenko was a victim of homicide, and there is no evidence that points definitively to Russia's role in his death" the first part was misleading not only due to his failure to mention the HPA's conclusion but because "Preliminary findings from the post mortem examination on the former KGB spy suggest that he was given more than ten times the lethal dose [of Po210]." The autopsy was carried out by three doctors "one pathologist was representing the government, a second acted on behalf of Litvinenko's wife, while the third was an independent specialist attending in case a criminal prosecution takes place"

http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-202_162-2221645.html

Richly ironic that on one hand his standard is " evidence that points DEFINITIVELY to Russia's role in his death" but filled his essay with phrases like:

"The false media stories MAY have been orchestrated by Berezovsky..."

"Alexander Goldfarb, ...was SUPPOSEDLY involved in raising funds for Pussy Riot's defense."

"Author of the 2007 book "Death of a Dissident: The Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko and the Return of the KGB" and REPORTEDLY on Berezovksy's payroll"

"the London public relations firm Bell Pottinger had REPORTEDLY approached a well-known British music agent ..."

he lets go to Colby fantasy world... ROMNEY smart enough not to be blackmailed by CIA (JFK THREAD) ,but demon Putin stupid enough to use a poison that could be traced on the airplane seats of the SO-CALLED assassins back to Moscow. Does Colby use drugs or trance methods to enter the realm of fantasy....people need to know.

The Po210 was almost not detected since it only omits alpha particles which can't pass through human tissue so they could have assumed it would have been discovered. Putin, if he sweated such details, probablly didn't suspect the agents would have been so careless..

Litvinenko's poisoners 'made a big mistake'

Detectives, meanwhile, made an extraordinary discovery: a trail of polonium billowing across central London. Whoever came up with the murder plot must have calculated that the obscure isotope was untraceable. In fact, investigators found the equivalent of footprints in the snow. They tracked polonium to Lugovoi's hotel room, to his plane seat, and to northern Germany, where Kotvun stayed before he flew on to London. The clues pointed in one sinister direction: Moscow.

Ricin is a political poison of twentieth-century origin. It is found in the shell casing of castor beans and is easily produced, thus having the potential to be a large-scale murder weapon. Ricin came to public attention in 1978 when it was used in the assassination of Bulgarian dissenter Georgi Markov in the United Kingdom. Markov worked as a broadcaster for the British Broadcasting Corporation, and relayed pro-Western material to his communist homeland. Markov died several days after being jabbed by an umbrella at a bridge in London. The poison-tipped umbrella injector was designed by the Soviet intelligence agency KGB, whose Bulgarian agent carried the umbrella and delivered the Ricin to the victim. An autopsy revealed that a platinum-iridium pellet the size of a pinhead had been implanted in Markov at the site of his injury. The pellet was cross-drilled with 0.016-inch holes to contain the Ricin. A short time earlier, a similar attempt had been made in Paris against another Bulgarian defector, Vladimir Kostov. This attempt proved unsuccessful because his heavy clothing prevented the steel ball from entering any farther than his subcutaneous tissue. Kostov read of his comrade's death and went for a medical examination during which the pellet was found and removed before any of the toxin could be absorbed. Ricin is an extremely toxic poison. It is estimated that Markov was killed by only a 425 mg. dose contained in the pellet. Ricin is deadly because it can be inhaled, ingested or swallowed and is quickly broken down in the body and is virtually undetectable. Markov's assassination was only detected because the pellet carrying the poison had not dissolved as expected. There is currently no antidote to Ricin although a vaccine has been developed that has been successfully tested in mice.

Apart from the poison pellet umbrella, the KGB is known to have designed several other imaginative devises to deliver biochemical poisons. One was a pen-sized assassination weapon that could deliver gas or liquid poisons. Another was a cigarette case, surrendered by KGB assassin Nikolai Khokhlov upon his defection to West Germany in 1954. The device could fire poison filled hollow-point bullets through the false cigarettes at the opening of the case. Khokhlov, who had been sent to assassinate anti-Soviet émigré Georgi Sergeyevich Okolovich, defected rather than carry out his mission.

In the 1950s and 1960s, a talented chemist and poisons expert worked for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He was Sidney Gottlieb (1918–) and also operated under the name Joseph Scheider. In the 1960s, Gottlieb was involved in various chemical and biochemical projects, none of which was apparently successful. Gottlieb created devises that could deliver poisons by which the CIA could carry out assassinations of political leaders who were assumed to be a threat to U.S. national security. One of these leaders was Fidel Castro, whose liking for Havana cigars was considered to be a possible means of administering poison pellets. Gottlieb is thought to have inserted poison into Havana cigars that were sent to Castro, but which were somehow intercepted and never arrived. Gottlieb then tried to create a poisoned wetsuit, which Castro never wore. Another assassination attempt involving Gottlieb was planned by the CIA on General Abdul Karim Kassem of Iraq by planting a poisoned handkerchief in his suit pocket, but this plan also failed. Gottlieb adopted a slightly different tactic in the planned assassination of African leader Patrice Lumumba, the leftwing prime minster of the Congo (now Zaire). In September 1960, he constructed an assassination package that included a biological agent able to induce tularemia (rabbit fever), brucelloisis (undulant fever), anthrax, smallpox, tuberculosis and Venezuelan equine encephalitis (sleeping sickness). This agent was mixed with toothpaste and placed in a tube that could be slipped into Lumumba's traveling kit. Gottlieb delivered this package to Lawrence Devlin, the CIA station chief, instructing him to kill Lumumba. However, the operation also did not achieve its aim, as Lumumba's enemies in the Congo murdered him first in January, 1961. (NOTE THE CIA ACTUALLY DELIVERED Lumumba TOO his enemies,GAAL)

??? Gee don't you think that since the KGB had already killed one dissident in London with ricin the doctor's would have tested for it if he had the right symptoms? And since they could detect it with 1978 technology they would have been able to 28 years later?

Stop the Pointless Demonization of Putin (COLBY !!)

http://www.thenation.com/article/167746/stop-pointless-demonization-putin

American media coverage of Vladimir Putin, who today began his third term as Russia’s president and 13th year as its leader, has so demonized him that the result may be to endanger U.S. national security.

About the Author

Stephen F. Cohen

Stephen F. Cohen is a professor emeritus of politics and Russian studies at Princeton University and New York... (Colby much less expertise)

Obama’s “reset” of relations was in trouble a year ago. Now, with the conflict over Syria, things have only gotten worse.

###################################################

For nearly 10 years, mainstream press reporting, editorials and op-ed articles have increasingly portrayed Putin as a czar-like “autocrat,” or alternatively a “KGB thug,” who imposed a “rollback of democratic reforms” under way in Russia when he succeeded Boris Yeltsin as president in 2000. He installed instead a “venal regime” that has permitted “corruptionism,” encouraged the assassination of a “growing number” of journalists and carried out the “killing of political opponents.” Not infrequently, Putin is compared to Saddam Hussein and even Stalin.

Well-informed opinions, in the West and in Russia, differ considerably as to the pluses and minuses of Putin’s leadership over the years – my own evaluation is somewhere in the middle – but there is no evidence that any of these allegations against him are true, or at least entirely true. Most seem to have originated with Putin’s personal enemies, particularly Yeltsin-era oligarchs who found themselves in foreign exile as a result of his policies – or, in the case of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, in prison. Nonetheless, U.S. media, with little investigation of their own, have woven the allegations into a near-consensus narrative of “Putin’s Russia.”

Even the epithet commonly applied to Putin is incorrect. The dictionary and political science definition of “autocrat” is a ruler with absolute power, and Putin has hardly been that. There are many examples of his need to mediate, sometimes unsuccessfully, among powerful groups in the ruling political establishment and of his policies being thwarted by Moscow and regional bureaucracies. Moreover, if Putin really were a “cold-blooded, ruthless” autocrat, tens of thousands of protesters would not have appeared in Moscow streets, not far from the Kremlin, following the December presidential election. Nor would they have been officially sanctioned – as were the thousands who gathered yesterday before a small group breached the sanctioned lines and violence ensued – or shown on state television.

But consider the largest, and historically most damning, accusation against Putin. Russian democratization began in Soviet Russia, under Mikhail Gorbachev, in 1989-91. “De-democratization,” as it is often called, began not under Putin but under Yeltsin, in the period from 1993 to 1996, when the first Russian president used armed force to destroy a popularly elected parliament; enacted a super-presidential constitution; “privatized” the former Soviet state’s richest assets on behalf of a small group of rapacious insiders; turned the national media over to that emerging financial oligarchy; launched a murderous war in the breakaway province of Chechnya; and rigged his own re-election. (On February 20, outgoing president Dmitri Medvedev shocked a small group of visitors by finally admitting that Yeltsin had not actually won that election against the Communist leader Gennadi Zyuganov.) Putin may have only moderated those fateful policies, but he certainly did not initiate them.

The catastrophic Yeltsin 1990s, which have been largely deleted from the U.S. media narrative, also put other anti-Putin allegations in a different perspective. The corruption rampant in Russia today, from seizures of major private investments to bribes demanded by officials, is a direct outgrowth of the violent and other illicit measures that accompanied “privatization” under Yeltsin. It was then that the “swindlers and thieves” denounced by today’s opposition actually emerged.

The shadowy practices of that still-only-partially reformed economic system, not Kremlin politics, has led to the assassination of so many Russian journalists, most of them investigative reporters. The numbers, rarely cited by era, are indicative. According to the American Committee to Protect Journalists, 77 Russian journalists have been murdered since 1992 – 41 during Yeltsin’s 8 years in power, 36 during Putin’s 12 years.

The exceptionally vilifying charge that Putin has been behind the killing of political opponents focuses mainly on two victims – the investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot to death in Moscow in 2006; and a reputed KGB defector, Aleksandr Litvinenko, who died of radiation poisoning in London, also in 2006.

Not a shred of evidence or an element of logic points to Putin in either case. The editors of Politkovskaya’s newspaper, the devoutly anti-Putin Novaya Gazeta, believe her killing was ordered by Chechen leaders, whose human-rights abuses were one of her special subjects. And there is no conclusive proof even as to whether Litvinenko’s poisoning, despite the media frenzy and rupture in British-Russian relations it caused, was intentional or accidental. (Significantly, Scotland Yard still has not released the necessary autopsy report.)

In other circumstances, all of this ritualistic Putin-bashing would be merely a cautionary example of media malpractice, an anti-textbook for journalism schools. But it has made Putin’s Russia toxic in Washington, in both political parties and especially in Congress, at a time when U.S. national security requires long-term cooperation with Moscow on vital fronts: from countries and regions such as Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran and the entire Middle East to issues such as nuclear weapons reduction, stopping nuclear proliferation, and preventing terrorism.

In all of these regards, the relentless demonizing of Putin makes rational U.S. policymaking all the more difficult. Mitt Romney’s recent assertions that Russia is America’s “number one geopolitical foe” and that Moscow has made no “meaningful concessions” seem to reflect widespread ignorance or amnesia. Are U.S. policymakers aware of Putin’s extraordinary assistance to the U.S. war effort in Afghanistan after 9/11, his crucial help in supplying NATO troops now there or his support for harsher sanctions against Iran? Do they know that for these and other “pro-American” concessions he is viewed by many Russian national security officials as an “appeaser?”

Many years ago, Will Rogers quipped: “Russia is a country that no matter what you say about it, it’s true.” Evidently, it is still true, but it’s no longer funny.

Did the good Dr. type these words with a straight face? I'm not familiar with the Politkovskaya case but there certainly is evidence and logic which points to Putin, though one could argue that they are less than conclusive. But it gets better (worse).

The Christian is not to be Unequally Yoked

Introduction: The prohibition against being unequally yoked is found in Paul's teaching to the Corinthians. Paul wrote: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…" (2 Cor. 6: 14). Unequally yoked in 2 Corinthians 6: 14 is translated from the Greek heterozugountes. Heterozugountes is a compound word made up of heteros, another of a different sort and zugos, a yoke, serving to couple two things.

I. The unequal yoke, an application.

A. The text in which the unequal yoke prohibition is found is generally discussing a yoking of opposites, such as the temple of God and idols; righteousness and unrighteousness; light and darkness (vs. 16, 14).

B. Notice that Paul is not simply forbidding a yoking together, but the yoking of two things that are severely opposite and incongruous.

C. It is important to notice that the "unbeliever" of the First Century was usually a pagan who aggressively worshipped idols and sought to convert others to his idols. a.Many Christians have learned too late as to why they should not form business yokes with the dishonest and morally deprived.

II. The unequal yoke and marriage.

A. One common view of 2 Corinthians 6: 14 is that Paul is teaching that it is inherently a sin for a Christian to be married to a non-Christian. However, the passage does not mention marriage.

B. In addressing marriages between the Christian and the content unbeliever, Paul instructed the marriage to continue (I Cor. 7: 12-16).

a. If such a union had automatically been a sin, Paul would have required the dissolution of all such marriages. Nonetheless, it is not recommended for the Christian to marry a non-Christian.

III. The paramount lesson of the prohibition against the unequal yoke is that God must be put first in the life of the Christian (Matt. 6: 33).

A. Regarding the yoking together of extremely dissimilar animals, the Law of Moses condemned such (Deut. 22: 10).

B. One cannot serve two dissimilar masters (Matt. 6: 24).

Conclusion: The kingdom of God and his righteousness must constantly be on the mind of the Christian. All relationships that place the Christian in sin must be avoided.

I doubt anyone will try and decipher your theological babble never mind be convinced by it. You aren't shy about tossing out all sorts of accusations against others but positively bashful about providing evidence let alone admit error when shown to be wrong. You claimed "Colby hates Putin because he is Christian" Get back to us when you have evidence. In any case it's hard to believe someone who was a diehard servant of the "Godless" Communists for so long really is a Christian.

West Demonizes Putin

America's interference in Russia backfired and caused Russians to overwhelmingly support Putin. Russians were offended by the protesters and Washington's impedance and they gave Putin almost 64% of the vote. The vote reflects independent polls that declare Vladimir Putin the favorite and most popular among Russians. However, this is not reflected in the Western media especially by the US and Britain. They give a one sided view or non-reporting, always biased. They never showed the many Pro-Putin rallies prior to the elections. There is no such thing as journalism in the US. The news people are commentators. It is all propaganda. Every TV news channel and newspaper seem to be the same. If you travel Russia like I do you can see Putin is favored by the majority. RT does a good job in investigative journalism in this report.

US media mostly focused on discontent among many Russians, with some outlets going as far to claim "rampant fraud" and a "stolen election." RT's Gayane Chichikyan remarks that this could insult the majority of the Russians who voted for Putin. Not only the vote, but all the opinion polls conducted before it, confirm the outcome, she adds.

Richard Spencer, founder of the online magazine Alternative Right, believes that both the left and the right in the American media are unified in treating Putin as a threat. They view him as a pariah because he questions the world order that Washington wants, Spencer told RT.
