Hi Hank,

Congradulations on your book Terrible Mistake. It looks really good and I can't wait to read it. I'm sure there are a lot of overlaps between Olson and JFK research.

Dr. Jose Rivera should be right down your alley.

You know he worked under Dr. Lamanna, who also did research on Anthrax.

I am a little confused about the reference to his being the "cousin to King Louis of France," but if it was meant literally

the legitimate claim to that title in 2009, is Henri VII, Count of Paris, Duke of France, whose first wife was Marie Therese of Württemberg.

Haven't I seen her name cited in some genealogical threads? Or am I imagining that?

I have been looking into Rivera and have found lots of disinformation and erroneous reporting, however, that is not to say he is a most interesting character who factors well into the Oswald saga.

Hi Hank,

After reading Rivera's 800 some page incomplete military file obtained by the ARRB, I thought his associations with Fort Detrick and the US Navy Research Center in California were most interesting, as well as his being stationed in San Antonio, Texas and New Orleans at pertinent times.

I didn't see any active disinformation - or intentional falsefication of the records by an intelligence agency or agents.

Can you site some disinformation related to Rivera that I might have missed?

Thanks,

Bill Kelly

CIA Denial of Coddling Nazis Far From the Truth - Part 2 [Voltaire]

Buettner’s extreme heat research led him to closely consult with two US Army researchers at the Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The two researchers were Lt. Col. John A. Moncrief and Major Jose A. Rivera. Moncrief and Rivera conducted a six-year study of “more than 1,000 burn cases” that focused on “the mortality rate from septicemia [infection] for 55 percent of all deaths.” Moncrief, Rivera, and Buettner met on many occasions related to this study, as well as several other projects overseen by Buettner. [see the forthcoming book by H.P. Albarelli Jr., Exploiting Evil: Project Paperclip, the Pentagon, CIA and Human Experimentation to be published this year by Progressive Press from which sections of this article are extracted].

Both Moncrief and Rivera also worked at the Brooke Center with former Nazi Dr. Ulrich Cameron Lutz, hired through Project Paperclip in 1947 to perform rapid decompression experiments at SAM. From 1951 to about 1963, Lutz served intermittently as a consultant on high altitude acclimatization for both the Air Force and the CIA. This work included the ultra-secret development of the CIA’s U-2 spy plane. Ulrich, the son of a Scottish mother and German father, was born in Berlin in 1910. He was schooled as a research physiologist and physician, and by 1938 was an authority in the fields of lung physiology and the physiological effects of oxygen deprivation.

In 1937 and 1938, Lutz traveled as part of an expedition to climb Nanga Parbat [in Pakistan], the ninth highest mountain in the world. In 1954, William Randolph Lovelace II, a prominent American scientist who maintained a long-standing relationship with the CIA, invited Lutz to head the Department of Physiology at the Lovelace Clinic for Medical Education and Research in New Mexico. The CIA’s Project Oxcart made extensive use of the Lovelace Clinic in the training of high altitude spy pilots. Lutz passed away peacefully in 1991 at his Albuquerque, New Mexico home.

As some readers may be aware, Maj. Jose A. Rivera went on to become a figure of mystery due to his peripheral and bizarre involvement in the JFK assassination. Months before the assassination, in April 1963, he is reported to have dosed a woman with LSD and then attempted to hypnotize her. The woman, Adele Edisen, was then a 35-year old post-doctoral fellow at the National Institute of Health’s Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness at the Louisiana University School of Medicine. Edisen encountered Rivera at a medical conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey. During their subsequent encounter in Washington, D.C., Rivera said a number of bizarre things to Edisen, including asking her to telephone Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans and to tell him “to kill the chief.”

According to Col. Jose Rivera's official military records, he worked at Fort Detrick, Md., under Dr. Lamanna after WWII, and then reunited with Lamanna at the U.S. Naval Biological Laboratory, affiliated with the University of California at Berkeley, but actually situated in Oakland, California, from 1959 - 1961.

here are some things:

http://stinet.dtic.mil/cgi-bin/GetTRDoc?AD...oc=GetTRDoc.pdf

In the late '60, Rivera was involved with the lab and other agencies in Project Tektite - research into lengthy stays under water conducted in Virgin Isles.

The lab was listed in a 1970 AFSC paper called Weapons for Counterinsurgency as performing "epidemiological research relevant to biological warfare applications"

Bill, this is just a small sample... there is plenty out there on it.

I'm reposting this because I wonder if there is a link between the U.S Naval Biological Lab at Presideo and the Defense Language Institute at Presideo?

It is well known that many of the Kennedys died at the hands of others. It is possible that the death of JFK’s and Jackie’s baby boy, Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, born after JFK was elected president was not a natural death? Has anyone ever explored this? He died on August 9, 1963, having been born prematurely by five and a half weeks. Did someone clandestinely arrange for Jackie to eat or drink something that induced the premature birth?

The reason I bring it up is that in entry #104 on p. 7 in this topic the following appears:

The following evening Rivera gave Adele Edisen a tour of Washington. When they passed the White House he asked Edisen, "I wonder what Jackie will do when her husband dies?" After Adele replied "What!", Rivera said, "Oh, oh, I meant the baby. She might lose the baby."

In the past year I posted a topic on the forum that showed all of the Kennedy deaths, beginning with Joe, Jr. in World War II, fell within the same hour of sidereal time, which is a measurement system based upon the repetitive motion of the stars.

I wonder of the baby’s death in 1963 also occurred in the same sidereal hour.

i wondered the same thing. The birth and death of Patrick figures into the story a number of times, such as the recording of JFK calling a military officer a horse's ass for bring photographed at the special bedside arrangements made for Jackie at Ottis AFB if the facilities were needed, and the fact that JFK took the Jetstar plane to Ottis, the only time he ever used that plane, which did not have special communication facilities.

And then in Houston on the day before he died, JFK visited the Army hosptial where Jose Rivera was stationed for eight years, and going off schedule, inspected the special breathing and oxygen tanks that were being developed that would save the life of a newborn like Patrick.

Not that Patrick was killed by him or other, but knowledge of his condition before birth was known to Rivera, who had an office in Bethesda.

My recent foray into the background of Anthony Lapham and the curious facts that he was the best man in the 1973 wedding of Tex McCrary's niece, Wendy Iglehart McCrary; that the groom, covert CIA agent Henry R. Breck was also the godfather of Lapham's son, Nicholas, despite no known school, professional, or family ties between Lapham and Breck, influenced me to take a closer look at the other Lapham. This Lewis J. Lapham is not the brother of Anthony Lapham, Lewis H. Lapham is Anthony's brother.

A search of maryferrell.org brought up the 1971 accusation by a former CIA employee against Lewis J. Lapham and A. Spencer Braham, et al, that around 1960, Lapham and Braham had steered the employee to an inoculation in Paris and the the two, along with several other agents, sexually assaulted her. There is an element of memory block or erasure in her accusations, ignored by CIA and then reported to the FBI.

Searching further, the word "Brooke" stood out in results I found related to the background of Lewis J. Lapham, Dr. Lowell W. Lapham. The coincidences here overlap impressively well with the experiences with Dr. Jose Rivera in 1963 described by Adele Edisen, right down to Lewis and Jose living in Bethesda, MD.

I have not been a supported of Adele Edisen's amazing account, but I have tried to stay open minded.

A longtime assistant to Don Hewitt, producer of CBS News, 60 Minutes, is proven to be at least an acquaintance of a daughter of Col. Dr. Jose A. Rivera, and has been married to Rivera's wife's nephew for the last 23 years.

Now this has been going on since this notification to the government more than 35 years ago. The photos in my last post are published on the internet by someone publicly admitting their direct connection to Col. Jose A. Rivera, (standing accused by a reliable witness with never a response from the government), and connected to the former Don Hewitt associate described in my last post. Let us get off of our duffs and get this resolved. What in God's name, are we waiting for?
