  1. This wouldn't be the first time you've seen nothing in the background. I double-majored in film and did matte-work. Did you ever study a decent 8mm print of the Z film with a grain focus analyzer? Being reversal stock, a background plate would have more grain than a matted foreground image. If you can briefly set your arrogance aside, I dare you. Do a grain comparison, then publish the...

  2. Interesting interest: motion picture special effects. Like in the Zapruder film? Of course, in those pre-digital days, they had to use optical printers, rotoscoping and traveling mattes, but they got the job done. Didn't they.

  3. Gary Mack has researched the assassination of John F. Kennedy for over thirty years. He was Senior Consultant for the first two parts of the British television series The Men Who Killed Kennedy. He is currently Curator of The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza at the former Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, Texas. His responsibilities include identifying and acquiring artifacts, restoration and preservation of the museum's collection of films, photographs, video and audio tapes, and subject matter expertise about the Kennedy assassination. He has also been a Kennedy assassination advisor to ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox News, and CNN as well as for The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and several other news organizations. He has also been a consultant for several Discovery, History and Learning Channel historical programs. In 1998 Gary co-produced the Emmy award winning documentary JFK: The Dallas Tapes and in 2003 co-produced the award-winning PBS documentary JFK: Breaking The News. Gary has a son who is a musician with the Opera House Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.
  4. Gary Mack graduated from Arizona State University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts. He majored in Journalism, minored in Radio-Television and pursued a broadcast career mostly in Phoenix, Wichita and Fort Worth-Dallas from 1964-1994. Gary served as announcer, news film archivist and producer at Dallas-Fort Worth NBC affiliate KXAS-TV and, as a volunteer, assisted the Southwest Film/Video Archive at Southern Methodist University in 1994. Gary has been a Kennedy assassination researcher since 1975, had been a volunteer consultant to The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza since its planning stages in the early 1980's, and was named the Museum's full-time archivist in 1994. He was appointed Curator in 2000. Gary is a past member of the Society of Southwest Archivists and the Association of Moving Image Archivists, and has audited four graduate-level archival courses at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. Most major print, network and local news organizations have sought his expertise on the Kennedy assassination, including The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, New York Times, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. He has been a consultant on many JFK documentaries and special reports, including ones produced by ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS/Frontline, and Britain's Central Independent Television, and co-producer of the Museum's 1998 Heartland Emmy-winning broadcast and video special "JFK: The Dallas Tapes," with Dallas-Fort Worth's FOX affiliate, KDFW-TV.
