  1. I´m Spanish and teacher of English, so I need your help. Can any one recomend a couple of good History and Geography textbooks for pupils that are 5 to 11 years old? Thank you very much for your help!
  2. Congratulations. John! So glad to learn you are a Super Super John!
  3. Thank you very much John. I have a new question from you acting as a translator of that friend of mine. He is interested in textbooks for pupils that are 5 to 11 years old in History and Geography. Thank you very much for your help! I posted a reply earlier today and I do not know where it went. It might be in another section of the forum. I'll check just in case
  4. Dear Friends It's been a long time since I last used the forum! (almost a year, which is quite a lot on ICT terms) I've got a friend who is a University teacher in Spain. He is interested to have information about the Curriculum for history in England and Wales. Unfortunately he does not speak English. Can you help us? I would like to congratulate John Simkin for this wonderful Forum!
  5. ¿Alguien interesado en este proyecto con Polonia? Dear Ms de Salvador, Could you possibly help us get in touch with teachers in your country who might be interested in joining our educational project (described below). We started the project too late to join Spring Day in Europe but hope that national coordinators of the network are still in a position to assist new initiatives with similar objectives. Thank you very much. Best regards, Alex Schejbal Project coordinator est@est.iq.pl The Brody School in Poland is looking for European secondary schools to join an intercultural discussion forum project (2 – 10 Internet based lessons required to take part) exchanging general information about the pupils outlooks, hobbies, schools and lifestyles. The exchange should be done in English. The project is called Quest for Young Europe and is hosted on the school website http://www.gim2brody.iap.pl/forum/ Students from other schools can take part in the exchange either as a class or individually. We are particularly interested in getting answers to the first set of questions (Think Before You Write on the Forum) since it contains some issues more “elaborated” than the other parts. The whole debate is the youngsters’ initiative, with the teachers’ role confined to general supervision and advice. The website includes more information on registration and participation rules (Forum Guide EN). Please get in touch if there are any further questions.
I am enclosing the letter written by our students who wish to express their deepest condolances for all the innocent victims of the brutal terrorist attacks in Madrid. headteacher, Meta Kamšek The message says: One moment you are driving to school and the next second you realise that you might die. We can only ask ourselves whether human life is really so unimportant in this world. But people world wide condemn the terrorism, we grieve over with you because for us human life is still an important value. The attack shocked us and made us all furious. But we, young people, must never forget: we are the future of this world. We must not just heal the consequences, we must dispatch the motives. We all hope that the tragedy won't happen again and we utter to you our deepest sympathy. The students from Gimnazija Kočevje , Slovenia Mil besos a todos

We are looking for a partner school from your country for our project Spring Day in Europe 2004. Can you help us? Our country (Slovenia) is a candidate country to the EU. In our school we are planning to make a huge map of Europe and we will stick postcards of the different countries on it. What you should do: 1. send us a postcard of your county 2. write some information about your county or your town (you can send an e-mail) 3. write some basic details of yourself: who you are, age, school, your interests etc.(you can send an e-mail) 4. send us your address (you can send an e-mail) so that we could send postcards to you too. Our address: Svjetlana Urbancic Osnovna sola Cvetka Golarja Frankovo naselje 51 SI-4220 Skofja Loka SLOVENIA Best regards, Svjetlana Urbancic
  11. ¡Felicidades Xavier!
No he ido a visitarla todavía, y de hoy no pasa.
I've just heard that Dr Janez Potocnik, the Slovenian Minister for European Affairs, accepted to be on-line to chat with the Spring schools. The event is scheduled for Friday, 13 February at 10 o'clock CET (Central European Times). The topic will be decided tomorrow, but it will be around European issues. The chat language is English. If you would like to take part in, please provide me the following information: School name: Teacher name: Teacher e-mail: Petru Dumitru [petru.dumitru@longboy.eun.org]
