Steven: It is my understanding that there were three hit teams in Dallas on November 22, 1963. The first team was successful in assassinating JFK near the School Book Depository. A second team was in wait at the Mercantile Trade Mart where JFK was to give the luncheon address. Its services were not required. A third team, whose services were also not required, was to assassinate him at the airport as he prepared to depart Dallas. This team was headed by "Big Al" Carone (see links below).

There was no way JFK was going to depart Dallas alive on that fateful day.
