The HSCA interview of Loran Hall is available at the Mary Ferrell site.
http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/....do?docId=60422 http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/....do?docId=60423 Some interesting things include Hall's fumbling around his association with Rip Robertson. The interviewer asks if Rutherford could have also been a name used which Hall thinks possible. Curious that Robertson did in fact use the alias Rutherford which suggests the HSCA were well aware of who Rip Robertson really was. Hall gives lots of background to the Bayo-Pawley raid. He also talks about being interviewed by the CIA, FBI and Military Intelligence while under arrest in Dallas during October of 1963. He recalls the FBI man's name as something like 'Hosler'. I wonder if this could have been James Hosty? FWIW. James |

James, do you know anything about a Niko Crespi? (John Simkin)
John, I don't know a lot about Crespi other than he was in charge of a recruiting office located on Cole Manor in Dallas. He was also closely associated with Rudolfo Godinez who worked at Parkland Hospital. James |

I've always thought him an interesting figure and I wonder if he may have been involved with Lawrence Howard in some strange goings on down on a farm near NO (just outside Jackson) where Howard and some other cuban exiles where reported to have been seen in the period leading up to the assassination. What are your views on his involvement in the assassination? Also, are you saying that this Rudolfo Godinez was a cuban exile working at Parkland?! If so, is that just happenstance or something more sinister? This post has been edited by Francesca Akhtar: Jul 8 2007, 03:36 PM |

No worries, Francesca. We should really thank the Mary Ferrell site for hosting the complete interview.
It is my opinion that Hall was to be a designated patsy that day but something happened to change that. Whether he smelled a rat and took off in the other direction, I don't know. As to Godinez, he seemed to be right amongst the action when it came to exile activity in Dallas. He also had the right associations to be approached as a 'handler' of sorts and I do think he knew the identity of the mystery Cuban (as mentioned by Father MacChann) who worked at Parkland hospital - and I further contend it was this mystery Cuban who planted the so-called magic bullet. FWIW. James |

FWIW. James Woah. I thought Ruby planted the magic bullet. What other reason would Ruby have had for popping up at the hospital? To make sure the president was dead so the plotters wouldn't have to use plan C? |

Myra,
I am speculating of course. I would have thought that having a hospital employee on side would make sense as access to areas that would otherwise be off limits may come in handy. Just my opinion. James This post has been edited by James Richards: Jul 9 2007, 12:29 AM |

What other reason would Ruby have had for popping up at the hospital? To make sure the president was dead so the plotters wouldn't have to use plan C? I've always thought Ruby's job was to make sure that the President was dead and then that the patsy was...whomever the patsy was to be. He may have also been used to pass messages to others about same. James' idea that an insider [regular employee] in the hospital wouldn't raise suspicion is very true....even a cleaner or orderly...it need not be medical staff. They'd be perfect and no one would suspect or hardly notice them and they have keys to all rooms and have as their normal course of business being most everywhere without raising an eyebrow. Such would be good tradecraft and it was used throughout. They knew wounded or dead, he was coming to Parkland. Seems to me that in the months leading up to Dallas 'they' had a whole list of possible and 'good' patsys to choose from for the different locations, scenarios and ways it would finally come down. I think a whole bunch of people located both near/in and way outside of Dallas suddenly ran for iron-clad alibis when Kennedy was kiled, suspecting they had been set-up. More were set-up just to keep their mouth shut than due to direct involvment...but a whole hel l of a lot of them must have realized even if they were not directly involved...people they knew and usually worked with were! I'll bet some who thought they knew the hit was to happen and they were in the know also suddenly felt more vunerable than they had expected after than at breakfast that morning. Even thought 'they' got some things wrong and the original plan for the designated patsy [and perhaps role Tippit was to play] didn't seem to go perfectly, they got the hit off in such a way as to, in the end, pull off the coup and the cover-up that followed - and lives-on. I've even wondered if the mystery shell game that went on with JFK's body wasn't in some way pre-planned, as a contingency. They didn't think of everything, but they did think of a lot of things..... When, where and under what circumstances did Hall die? What did he do with the rest of his life and how did he support himself? I love the way he never quite gets Robertson right....or Hosty or Bissel and a few other names he just couldn't seem to remember fully....very telling. They were working together on the Nonte/Masen weapons thing. Dave |

Thanks, Dave.
Any ideas why these guys were so keen to speak to Hall? It doesn't seem all that routine to me. James |

Thanks, Dave. Any ideas why these guys were so keen to speak to Hall? It doesn't seem all that routine to me. James James, If I was to speculate, I'd say that Hall was a sometimes informant. Hall and Seymour were arrested (this is all from memory) in Dallas (Oct 17?) for towing a trailer with no plates. The police found dexadrine in their car. If I recall, they were on their way back to Dallas from Miami to pick up some weapons that they left at Lester Logue's father's place. These weapons that they picked up at Clint Wheat's house in California needed to be converted rfom semi-auto to full auto. This is where masen came in. He contacted Nonte about spare parts for conversion. Notice that Seymour was questioned and soon released but they held onto Hall for a few days before Hall could contact Logue and have Logue call Robert Morris. But hey, it's all speculation and I've been known to be wrong...:-) |

Thanks, Dave,
I think you are probably right on the money. I agree regarding Masen. James |

John,
James, do you know anything about a Niko Crespi? This is kind of interesting, on page 40 of his testimony, Hall talks about going to Dallas and hooking up with Niko Crespi, "after April and before the middle of July." According to the official record, the LHO we all know and love had moved from Dallas to New Orleans on April 24th. I wonder who the "Oswald" that was going to give a pro Castro talk was. And I've never seen this public talk mentioned anywhere else. Steve Thomas |

This is in his The Man Who Knew Too Much. Dave |
