(iv) Members should not make personal attacks on other members. Nor should references be made to their abilities as researchers. Most importantly, the motivations of the poster should not be questioned. At all times members should concentrate on what is being said, rather than who is saying it.

I have been considering your position, and I will retract the warning level I put onto you. This will reduce you back to 20%, but it is on the understanding - and this applies to everyone - curb your insults. If you want to express your disapproval of someone, then do so in a civil manner.

People will receive one public warning (so that other may see what I am considering acceptable and not acceptable). If you do not take heed, your warning level will be increased. The public warning will be on the thread where the infraction occurs, the raising of your warning level will be record in this thread.

If you believe the public warning is unwarranted, then please note this in the complaints thread. I will then ask other moderators to review the decision. Same with raising of the warning level - if you disagree, note it in the complaints thread and other moderators will review the decision.


Once again - this applies to everyone. If you think that I have stepped over the line, then report me using the "REPORT!" button on the bottom left-hand corner of the post. This will notify ALL mods, and another moderator will consider if I have breeched standards of civility.

Lastly, may I repeat what I have said elsewhere: attack the message, not the messenger.

I have locked the topic "Dont know whats going on here" It was becoming a dumping ground for personal attacks of the usual childish nature.

Deleted additional thread "The Pinay Circle". One had already been posted, no noticeable difference between them, so the latter was deleted.

An image posted in this post was deleted at the request of the photographer, as no permission was gained for its use.

I have locked the thread Coincidence or Conspiracy.

It was IMHO, not a political conspiracy, it was also attracting the usual Ad-Homs, from the usual suspects.

IF ANOTHER THREAD OF THIS PERSONEL NATURE IS OPENED, REST ASSURED, I SHALL REMOVE IT.

In this post, Duane has accused me of altering an image posted by him.

The specific phrase was: "You didn't by any chance "fix" that image for me , did you Evan ?"

Normally complaints go into the complaints thread.

If you have an accusation of a serious nature such as this (a moderator tampering with a post that is not part of their normal moderation duties), then bring it to the attention of John or Andy via PM as soon as possible. John and Andy will check the security logs and advise you.

Do NOT make a public accusation such as the above.

Four posts on this page of the Defense Historians Document 9/11 Pentagon Attack thread set to invisible. The posts belong to, and reason for are:

Jack White - Questioning the motives of a poster
Peter Lemkin - Quoting Jack's post, and also questioning the motives of a poster
Charles Drago - Trying to circumvent the rules, accusing Len of being untruthful
David G. Healy - Quoting Charles' post

David, if you are happy for me to remove Charles' quote from your post, I'll set it visible again. That was the only problem with it.

The remainder will be brought to the attention of other moderators to review my actions.

David G. Healy's warning level has been raised for continuing to make unprovoked insults at other members.

Craig Lamson has been placed on moderation due to an offensive post.

In absence of other mods and due to complaints by forum member, Cliff Varnell's posts in JFK section had a banned word removed. All posts that quoted posts with banned words had to be edited to remove banned word.

Warned Cliff word is not be used, and failure to observe forum rule would result in moderation.

John, e-mail addresses should not be shown unless you have the person's permission or their e-mail address is a matter of public record (e.g. they have published it themselves).

John Bevilaqua's posts on this thread have been made invisible. He is currently under moderation for unacceptable behaviour, and he has now removed his avatar and replaced it with one that does not meet Forum standards.

The topics were regarding the same incident. Moderation action vote called for. Of the five active Moderators, there were 3 for merging, 1 against, and 1 not yet heard from. The vote was for the merging, and carried out. No posts have been deleted or demoted.

I warned Craig Lamson for his attack in post #32 at a previous post - not even aimed at him or any of his posts. I raised his warning level one.

As I knew of no other way to sent Craig Lamson a private message as to his both sending 20 odd 'Reports' about me and yet blocking PM replies from me, I was going to send a message by the raise the warning level form and then immediately lower it again - as I made clear in the message I sent him. I didn't realize the system would prevent me from doing so for some unspecified amount of time. As soon as that time expires, I will do so. The level [will and] remains the same. Sorry Craig and all.
