This is just a thought:
Emperor George has given himself the power to declare Martial Law (under whatever pretext he chooses to imagine, say, "a terrorist attack"). The length of time is indefinite, during which the constitution will be suspended, and of course he stays in power during the "crisis". These are rules on the books. It could even be a natural disaster, like another Katrina, it doesn't matter he can make up whatever reason he wants.

So, who says there will even be an 'election' this year?
And even if there is, it still may not matter since he can declare Martial Law at any time as long as he's still in the chair.

Has anyone else thought about this?

Well Randy, sure he could do that but why bother with something so obvious. The last two presidential elections in the US were rigged. He was not elected he was appointed President by a judge. The US Constitution has for all intents and purposes been suspended for at least the last 8 years. The Republicans can't take all the credit for it though. The Democrats did their bit too and just lay down and played dead. Why, I have no idea but that sure looks like what they did. I'm sure the trusty Diebold betting machines will come through again.

Yes, it has been mentioned by me and others on this Forum and many other places. Yes, the rules are in effect and he can do this, BUT, I think they will have to come up with a really 'good' emergency now for the American People to 'buy' it....something like 911 squared - certainly possible given their lack of morality. I think they are 'betting' on something real or false-flag happening after their attack on Iran that might fit the bill. They will carefully weigh if they can get away with it [to keep Chaney in power behind the throne]; if not that might shoe in McCain; if not they'll let a one-term Democrat who gets assassinated politcally or in fact, and they get back in and then try something like that. We are headed in that direction, unless the American People wake up. As Maggie points out the Constitution has been mostly sidelined in the last 8 years [more than just the way the 'President' was 'elected'!] and our democracy now hangs on a thread and their evaluation on if they can get away with something like that. If they feel they can, they'll try it. If they feel they can't they'll work to scare the Public further to the point the will accept it. Perilous times indeed. Clinton's administration was certainly a very conservative one with many wars, criminal economic programs, and laws starting to limit the constitution. While the NeoCons are taking the lead on this, I see it as a general trend. The American Public now due to the economic crisis and choas of the last 8  years sense something terribly wrong, but still don't seem to want to face the full facts of a group wanting to turn the country into a policestate, under Corporate control, under control of the Oligarchy, under an excuse to 'protect'. Had the economy not gone 'south' they'd have an easier time of it. Now, people will not so easily be fooled, I hope....but one never knows.

Although, I am partial to the Democratic Party, ultimately I subscribe to the view that there is something called The Unitary Executive, which, simply put, means there is a small group of individuals at the top of both the Republican and Democratic Parties, which act in unison on matters of national security.
The issue of resolution of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, is the ultimate example of how a flawed assassination plot, can, in effect, become the perfect crime.
Why?
The theory goes as follows:
Irrespective of the issue of the guilt or innocence of Lee Harvey Oswald, if there was a conspiracy, there was a built-in mechanism to make the assassination in effect, the perfect crime. Because?
The answers of Who, What, When, Where, Why regarding the unresolved questions of the Kennedy Assassination to the layman, are housed in the National Archives, but, are the National Archives secured for the documents themselves?
Apparently not, if the accounts of missing and/or destroyed documents are indeed accurate.
But, the ultimate issue is using the premise of National Security, as the methodology of keeping the truth buried.

If the answer is no, Does anyone really believe the American's of 2017, will be outraged and demand the complete and whole documents in their original intact versions.
