Are you now, or have you ever been a teacher of things 'critical of "Western Civilization"'? - If so, you could be arrested soon in Arizona. Only 7 years ago, such insanity would be laughed at - now it is debated as 'rational political discourse'.

Where did we loose America....anyone want to try to name the date?!............

N.B. I just can't wait to find their definition of 'Western Civilization' (with the famous quote by Ghandi very much in mind....)

The bill is absurd, but it seems unlikely to even come up for a vote before the full Arizona House of Representatives according to the Navaho Times

“The bill is currently languishing at the committee level in the House, most likely as a result of public outcry against it. The measure must go through the Rules Committee before being heard by the full House”

And as bad as it is, it would cut state funding to schools whose courses “denigrate American values and the teachings of Western civilization” it would not make teaching such courses illegal.

Unfortunately there is nothing new here people have been trying to control what is taught in public schools in America since before the Scopes Monkey Trial.

The Salazar firing also seems unjustified but also unfortunately is nothing new or does Peter think teachers didn’t get fired for controversial teaching before 9/11?
