I just read an interesting book on the murder of Tutankhamen [ well over 3,000 years ago] in a book by that title by Bob Brier. When one reads it [and he makes a convincing case that the Pharaoh's chief political adviser did it along with the head of the army] little has changed. It even came complete with a cover-up and disinformation campaign to hide it. The murderer married the widow, then got rid of her. Ancient Rome had lots of similar. Why people think today conspiracy for political power and money, sometimes religion or other side motivations is unusual, I'll never know. For most it is a psychological need to see humanity as less evil and full of chaos and plotting sycophants - or those who wish to hide current conspiracies by denying all past ones and the general concept of their garden-variety commonality. It is sad, but true and time people get used to it. From interpersonal conspiracies to cheat on a school exam; dump a lover or get another; corporate boardroom conspiracies daily to the BIG ones, sadly, they are part of our history and humankind. The only way to lessen them is first to acknowledge them, not deny them!
