Tomorrow 15/12 is the first anniversary of the setting up of the forum.

When John and I first thought of the idea of an international teacher's forum I don't think either of us envisaged such an interesting year or that the forum would be used by such a diverse selection of people.

To celebrate our first birthday I would like members to use this thread as a "birthday party" where they can do all the sorts of things we like to do at birthday parties, most importantly get to know other people at the party. Perhaps ideas about how to improve the "party" in the year ahead so more people can become involved could be posted here too.

However as John Simkin (total abstainer) is one of the administrators there will of course be no drinking and no smoking allowed

This is of course untrue. I drink alcohol although I don’t smoke. You can do as much as you want of these things at our online party.

The International Education Forum has a large number of sections. Most members only meet people from their own section. The online party will provide an opportunity to meet people from other areas of the forum. The idea is that we will talk about the things that people normally talk about at parties. Feel free to start conversations (threads). Hopefully, people will talk to you. I have started three so far. Please talk to me. The party will last until 25th December.
