I had the pleasure of seeing Janis Ian in concert last night in Brighton. She was fantastic. Her voice is as good as ever and she is an excellent guitar player. Her recent songs show that she has lost none of the ability she showed as a teenager with songs like Society’s Child and Seventeen. Just listen to songs like Autobiography and When I Lay Down.

While I'm generally not a big fan of gooey songs, Seventeen is a rare exception for me. A hauntingly memorable standout of the 70's.
