As the new series starts this Saturday(31st March) The good Dr's travelling companion is to be a Black female, This started me thinking, is it not time for a Female Doctor. Since its inception in November 1963 every Dr has been a White Male, surely the concept of regeneration would allow for either a Black person, or a Female to play the lead role. What do members think. Also who would you like to see as the first Female Doctor? I would have said Helen Mirren, but her sucking up to the Royal family at the Oscars means she is off my list. How about that great comedic actor Frances de la Tour?
