  1. I am the webmaster of the educational portal - KlasCement - of the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, Flanders. The portal is made by and for teachers and stimulates exchange of lessons, good practices, links, free- and software, ... We give teachers free webspace for educational material and there's a forum with more than 3000 members. This huge website is supported by the Flemish government, department of education. As an educational co-ordinator and ICT advisor of the Anytime Anytime Learning programme of Microsoft Belgium I am regularly visiting schools, helping them using ICT in the classroom. I give teacher trainings in electronic learning environments (Smartschool, Blackboard, ...), on line interactive exercises (Hot Potatoes, Class Server, ...), the use and creation of a schoolwebsite (FrontPage), ... Twice a year I also organise a hands-on ICT teacher training event for 400 teachers from primary, secondary and higher education. As a former ICT-co-ordinator and teacher I'm familiar with the technical skills to maintain schoolnetworks, servers, administrative schoolsoftware, ... and with the pedagogical skills to motivate colleagues using ICT. This school is member of the European Network of Innovative Schools (ENIS) and I have been involved in the Virtual School, department Mathematics. Since 2004 I'm also a founding member of the Organisation of ICT-co-ordinators in Flanders, dIdaCTo. 2. Hello dear colleague, I started an investigation about the support of European governments and Ministries of Education for ICT in schools. How is IT in your country? Are schools financially supported? Do ICT-co-ordinators get support, money, time, ... ? Does your country have an educational portalsite by and for teachers funded by the (or a) government? Please take 5 minutes of your time to answer the 3 questions at: The ResearchPage You can also read some of the first results (Italy, Netherlands, Flanders). Compare! Are you better or (even) worse supported? Thanks a lot for your contribution! It can be very useful for decisions of your government concerning ICT. Greetings Hans De Four Advisor "ICT in schools" - Flanders, Belgium
