  1. I believe I'll sign off after the last two. It shouldn't be the "politics of Katrina". You are all missing the point. There ARE troops there. There ARE supplies and people who care. Unfortunately, the countries that owe the US the most (Germany and France) offer nothing. Perhaps it's because Chirac just can't SEE the big picture. Hopefully that is being fixed. I leave you all to your political squabblings, your impertinent opinions whil those that you debate ABOUT perish. Good day and God Bless. Carrie
  2. It was not an "illegal" invasion. What exactly is a "legal" invasion. I believe it's an oxymoron to call something a legal invasion. And since we annexed them, when do they start paying taxes? And joining our military to help fight with us for THEIR freedom? Secondly, I agree. John wasn't casting blame. I apologize for cmoing across as such. I will also correct myself in saying that NO other countries were helping us. Fox News just announced that China, Canada, Sweden and Australia have all offered aid. There is at least one American that sends heartfelt thanks to those citizens and governments for assisting us in this tragedy. I stand by the fact that our military follows the directives of the Commander In Chief. They should. But whether you agree with or support the war in Iraq it has nothing to do with Hurricaine Katrina. John was bringing attention to how foreigners view us and our tragedy. I hope you will focus on that. Very few of us see African American, Vietnamese American, Korean American, French American, Iraqi American or any other perfix to the word American. We see AMERICANS in need. We are guilty of ignoring that quite a bit. I am simply saying, question the government when these people are safe and out of harms ways. THEN, write letters, send e-mails, get the media on your side! Paper the streets! This country was founded on that. But we MUST help our fellow HUMANS. I'm wrong. Let's not even look at them as Americans. See PEOPLE. And pray for them. Help if you can. Save the questions and lip service until next week or month if neccessary. Again, pray for YOUR brother and sisters in New Orleans AND Biloxi! -Carrie Driscoll Greenville, SC, USA
  3. John- I've been wondering about the reactions of otehr countries to our tragedy. I appreciate your thoughts. However, not all is at it seems. The money to re-inforce the levees had been allocated by our Congress for over 20 years. New Orleans as a city refrained from using it and would frequently take the money from the allotment to go toward other things. Most of New Orleans current plight is their own fault. Yes, the majority of those left behind are black. New Orleans is a primarily black city. I've been there several times. These minorities are not just poor. Many of them are well off and own and run the businesses in the Quarters which are central to the annual Mardi Gras Festivities. The people still in New Orleans for the most part, simply chose not to leave. As I sit here, I am listening to Fox News and a CAUCASIAN man saying, "I ain't never runf rom one before and I ani't gonna run from one now but I'll never live down there again." He chose not to leave. Yes, these people were warned. They made a decison. Our government is helping as much as they can. My husband, a US Marine that ETS's in 2003 may be recalled. He is ready. The city I live in, has already raised over $400,000 in cash and have trucks lined up in over 50 locations in a 150 mile radius, They are asking for water, canned goods, clothes and blankets. I myself have gone through my children's closets and pulled every piece of clothing that they can spare. I have done the same with mine and my husband's closets. I've gathered blankets from us and neighbors and I've made one huge trip to help them AND conserve gas. The government is the main source but communities all over our country are banding together. My fatehr has been out of work for 3 months and he and my mother just donated more than they could realistically afford to the US Red Cross. People are doing all that they can. And yes, we do have lawlessness in New Orleans, probably the same amount as during Mardi Gras. The thugs are the ones preventing the rescue efforts (Also primarily black). Most of these people are still there for the soul purpose of looting, raping, and killing. It's what THEY do whether there is a hurricaine or not. We are not Cuba. Cuba would move their people but shoot looters on the spot. As for the comment on Iraq. My husband is a veteran of Iraq. My oldest brother is a veteran of Iraq and Afganistan. My sister in law is a veteran of Iraq and she trained teh Iraqi police force. Please do not question what they do. They do what their Commander In Cheif does. And I believe Blair committed the Brits to do the same. Our damage is higher than the sunami. We ahve recieved no offer of help from any other country. Not the French, not the Brits, not teh Germans. No one. I personally am sick of foreigners judging the US for how they handle things. In reality, without my tax dollars and the blood of my family for centuries past, many of these critical countries wouldn't be as successful as they are. Germany and France would either be one or in rubble without the help of the US and Great Britain. The Sunami victims wouldn't be eating without US donations and US entertainers rasing money and making donations. John, you say this is all teh US's fault. We didn't say that after the sunami. We didn't say that after World War II. We don't say that after earthquakes. Private Citizens and MY government will step up and offer money, troops, food and clothing. Where is OUR assistance? Has anyone in Britain looked at that African American baby and said, "Hey honey. You know, I think maybe we have $30 extra this week. Maybe we can send that to the US Red Cross written to Hurricaine Katrina and buy some formula and diapers to go to her." We haven't even been offered help from the International Red Cross. IF any foreign people decide to help US for a change, write checks to Hurricaine Katrina c/o the American Red Cross. You find a convenient address on the internet. Again, instead of placing blame on anyone, why don't we band together as humans beings and make sure those babies get fed and have schools. We are in our second crisis in 4 years. We are still recovering from September 11. (Are you going to blame that on us too?) Our men and women are still in Iraq. We've had the gas hikes and now we have to listen to the criticizing voices from across the waves telling how we suck. I don;t think we do. I think we take care of everyone else before ourselves. THAT'S why we're in Iraq and THAT'S why that baby is still in New Orleans with no idea of what her future holds. Thank you and pray for our trgedy stricken brothers and sisters. Carrie
  4. I know that no one believes me or Leavelle. But Leavelle has never swayed on the fact that the wallet was on Oswald at the time of his arrest. Regardless, I've always been facinated by the infatuation people have with the location. People that don't believe LHO killed Tippit will not believe it was found on 10th and Patton. I had the luck of getting the "Kennedy tour" from Jimbo in 1996. He took me everywhere that involved teh assassination and talked about anything under the sun. (This is the same trip that he took pics of me in the cream colored suit and hat). He's always been consistent and very forthcoming with me. Doubt it helps anyone but I shared it all the same. -C
  5. I have to agree with all of the above Nic. I also see people's distrust of EVERYTHING involving the case as the biggest hurdle. I have the utmost respect for several researchers but loathe the majority. I believe that many key facts are staring us in the face and have yet to be recognized because too many of us doubt. Is it possible that we've already been told the truth? Maybe not all at once and maybe not 100% of it but I think we know most of what happened. It's just a matter of piecing it together. I honestly believe that the biggest problem with getting information is doubt. -C
  6. You're beautiful. Thank you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nic- I ahve a drawing Leavelle did for me if you're interested but I'm not posting it here. -C
  7. OK... I will apologize for my tone. Yes, I do believe Marina took the photos. Yes, I Marina was told Lee took a show at Walker. Though, after all these years I do believe that the Walker incident has nothing to do with it. That's the problem with all of us researchers (yes, myself included). We spread ourselves so thin, ask so many questions, and try to link so many things that we don't have a clue. We never have. We leave important things alone. And, yes, I think it's rude to even suggest Marina take a polygraph. You're telling everyone on this forum that she's a xxxx. Why would you believe her when she told teh truth it she wrote it on your forehead? All it would do is give vent to more speculation and more accusations. Someone, somewhere would decide that the the polygraph administrator was bought off, Marina was trained in Russia as a double agent to be able to beat it, the questions were phrased wrong, the results were altered. Who knows what ludicrous notions would be brought to the surface. I appreciate everyone's desire for the truth. I really do. But I think certain people need to step back onto the other side of the looking glass. Things look clearer from here. -C Rude to suggest Marina take a polygraph? I'm not suggesting she was involved or "knows something". Did she take the backyard photos as she said, or were they faked as nearly every single CT thinks? Did she see Lee carry the rifle out under a raincoat as she said? Some CTs think Lee never ordered the rifle, and never possessed it. Did Lee tell Marina he took that shot at Walker? Most CTs don't think he did. Lee told Marina he buried the rifle. Did he really tell her that? Most CTs think that's absurd. Marina was the closest person in the world to Lee Harvey Oswald, and it is not barking up the wrong tree to verify if what she said was true. She saw things in their everyday life that have been disputed for years. Do you believe the backyard photos were faked? If you do, then Marina lied about taking them, for whatever reason, pure and simple. Personally I think she did take them, and if she did, then they're not fakes, and every CT who believes they're fake is wrong. Inquiring minds want to know. Regarding the polygraph, from Advanced Research Inc: "While the polygraph technique is not infallible, research clearly indicates that when administered by a competent examiner, the polygraph test is one of the most accurate means available to determine truth and deception. Most available statistics report the accuracy as 87% - 95%, which does not include inconclusive test results. Most examiners do not consider an "inconclusive" result as erroneous. Inconclusive results are frequently the result of subdued physiological responses caused by fatigue, lack of sleep or the presence of drugs (legal or otherwise) in the system." http://www.advsearch.com/lie.htm I would believe anything Marina said if she passed a polygraph test. 8. Hi Carrie, I'm very much interested in the statement you made in your bio, specifically that you are personal friends with Marina. In your post above, you mention "if people haven't told the truth by now...". What's your take on Marina? As you know, so many researchers think she feared for her life, was pressured into making statements, etc, yet she has essentially maintained her story over the years, specifically about the Walker shooting, the backyard photos, seeing LHO cleaning the Mannlicher Carcano, taking it out under a raincoat to practice with, etc, etc. She wrote the ARRB when they wanted her permission to get LHO's tax records released, told them that she wanted certain FBI records released, but wouldn't give them what they wanted unless she got what she wanted. Stalemate. IMO she needs to submit to a polygraph to clear up some very important misconceptions. To coin a phrase, what does she know and when did she know it? RJS <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I believe that Marina was a Russian immigrant wife who didn't know her husband as well as she should have because he hid things from her. I also know that she she has changed her opinion about whether she believed Lee did it. As for the backyard photos- she has maintained her former position with me. I will also point out that it is rude to say SHE needs to submit to a polygraph. Why? As I asked before- would you believe her would you just say that they are only 75% accurate and therefore inadmissable in court? Would youd ecide that tehrefore, the polygraph was a moot point? BEsides, I really believe that Marina doesn't know anything. She's striving for information just like you are. She even went so far as to support and cooperate with a group of high school students in the mid 90's to try to get files. I think that with Marina- every one is barking up the wrong tree. -Carrie
  9. Tim- I hate to point this out, but IF these people haven't told the truth by now, do you really think that your Super Interogator could get them too? If he/she did, do you really think you could prove it? Or that you would believe it? I have serious doubts that after all of these years that I would believe the truth if I was shown he evidence. We've seen so many documents that show that Oswald did it, more that say the Mafia did it. We've even seen diagrams that prove beyond a resonable doubt that it was an man with an umbrella and a poisonous flachette. The theories go from realistic to dillusional. It's insane. BUT, if you want to fund something like that, I'd love to watch you get stonewalled. If people don't want to talk to you, they won't. Believe me, I know. They're not hostile. They're silent. And I can't blame them. Forty two years later, jerks like us are STILL calling them. STILL writing them and STILL doubting them. You would want to talk to someone that thought and told people they thought you were lying? I know you respect Blakey, but has he published the truth? All of it? Were his interrogatory tcechniques successful to the point that you aren't still demanding "professional interrogators"? Apparently not, because you're still trying to sell this ludircrous idea that there is some hypnotist/mind reader someone that can force people to tell him/her everything. It's not going to happen but I wish you luck in your fantastical idea. -C
  10. Interesting questions Charlie. I was waiting to see if anyone would bring her up. I feel that the only people that know the truth are Jackie, the otehr Kennedys and of course every President since then with Executive Authority to view them. -C
  11. Why the hostility towards JFK Lancer? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> John- A very long story from a while back. All I will say is that it involves the death of Jean Hill. I won't elaborate because it does nothing but cause more hard feelings. I will also say the 6th Floor Museum ad the Conspiracy Museum are out of teh running. For the record. I believe I'll just give them to Nic as she is young and I believe she too will put them to good use. She has the passion that I put into my kids now. Thanks for asking though! Best- Carrie
  12. I don't have room for 5,000 books, but if you can't find anyone to take your interview notes, I would take them. Steve Thomas <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Steve- I'll keep you in mind. -C
  13. [ Carrie, sorry to butcher your post, but I assume this is an ironic comment? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stephen- No, not ironic. I really mean that. See, I'm getting out of all of this. I'd rather spend time with my kids. I really just got on here to find someone to give all of my research materials too. I don't need them anymore. Since you guys still have the passion I've lost, I didn't want these things to go to waste. I find myself responding to topics on here but I'm staying away from the conspiracy stuff. I'll be gone in a few days. I promise!
  14. The only statement she has changed is that she believed Oswald did it. However, keep in mind, Marina was a Russian wife who spoke very little English living with a man she THOUGHT he knew and didn't. I've asked her most of those questins over the years. Then I realized something: Marina didn't do it. She wasn't there when it happened. So, she knew as much about what her husband was doing most days as I know. He's at work right now. Which is where Oswald was on November 22, 1963 and most other days. I look at Oswald and I realize he was just a name. No one really knows anything about him. How many FACTS do we really have? I don't know of anything. Everything is contradicted. No fact is supported and firm. It's all speculation. Marina took the backyard photos. But what does that mean? He did take a pot shot at a military official. Does that mean he did or did not kill a President? No. How many of you would LIKE to do something like that? Does that mean you're all assassins? Anyhow, I am rambling. Marina has been fairly consistent with ME (I can;t speak for anyone else) the whole time I've known her. Granted, speaking Russian I may have gotten some translations wrong. Though, in English conversations, she stays the same. Hope that helps. -C
