Shooting at a moving target may result in an uncertain outcome, so the assassination planners included a fail-safe assassin, as follows. One shot likely originated from inside the trunk of the limousine by someone firing through an opening directly behind the president’s head. This may sound far-fetched, but the evidence for this is considerable: frame 313 of the Zapruder film captures the gory result of this shot as it travels forward and almost directly upwards; Dr. Robert Grossman, (neuro surgeon at Parkland Hospital where JFK was treated) said “it was clear to me that the right parietal bone had been lifted up by a bullet which had exited”, also see his ARRB diagram of the wound; the end of the Zapruder film captures Jackie Kennedy climbing on the trunk and banging on the trunk lid in anger at the source of the shot; witnesses observed Secret Service agent Clint Hill also banging his fists on the trunk of the limousine; the official autopsy drawing of the president’s wounds clearly shows a bullet entrance near the base of the skull and pointing upward; an analysis of the president’s head wounds by a forensic expert in the book Mortal Error concludes that a shot originated from the trunk; and several eyewitnesses (20) reported smelling (fired) gunpowder odor at street level near the motorcade. Also noteworthy is the immediate removal of the limousine from Dallas and return to Washington D.C. to be hidden from view and guarded, and then shortly afterward the automobile was completely remodeled.
