  1. Randy Benson is the next to be broadcast at 2.30pm EST. Bill, I'll ask the next suitable speaker, Randy and Russ Baker might not be in a position to answer. Abraham Bolden has been added to the lineup today.
  2. John, or someone, I am having trouble today finding the stream. Could someone tell me what to do? Last night I saw John Judge and Jim Douglas. Now Cyril Wecht is going to speak and I can't get it. HELP! Kathy C Kathy, http://www.politicalassassinations.com
  3. If you want the audio file from Jim Douglass' wonderful talk from Dallas yesterday, you can hear it here, http://www.esnips.com/doc/b566f563-c0a3-4e...9fded5/VN320006
  4. Cyril Wecht is just about to speak now for those interested.
  5. We have Jim Douglass available for questions RIGHT NOW. If you have one, please post here.
  6. Jim Douglass will be speaking at 7pm EST, that's 1 hour and 45 minutes from now. Audio and video appears to be working perfectly. If anyone has questions for Jim at the end of the presentation, please post them in the chat window underneath the stream on the COPA homepage http://www.politicalassassinations.com All the best
  7. We have been testing extensively this year. We have two camcorders connected to laptops tried and tested, so no problems there. I've done tests with the rest of the speakers too, so I think we re permanently over our gremlins. I'll be going to the Adolphus and the Lawrence early Thursday to make sure all is well. As long as those speaking from home click 'record' when they also click 'broadcast' they should be available for viewing after the lvie stream.
  8. Hello all, Below I have listed the speaker schedule for this weekends COPA conference in Dallas. The speakers to be broadcast live over the internet as they happen are as follows, Jim Douglass, Cyril Wecht, Ronnie Dugger, Doug Valentine and T Carter. Biographies of all speakers are available underneath the schedule. These will be viewable at the times detailed on the schedule at the COPA site, http://www.politicalassassinations.com Each speaker will have time for questions at the end of their talks. There will be a chat window beside the stream for viewers to ask questions. I hope to post updates during the conference on this thread, as well as a few videos and photographs. I will be in Dallas earlier than most of the participants, so I will be wandering around the plaza for a long time. If there are any angles of the plaza that someone would like to see photographed, I would be happy to take them on Wednesday and Thursday and post them on the forum that night. Any suggestions for areas to photograph and video would be interesting. South knoll, triple bypass etc. As I'm arriving early I might see if I can get somewhere on the upper floors of buildings overlooking the plaza. As well as the COPA conference broadcasts, it justed dawned on me that there is a 24 hour a day camera looking out over Dealey Plaza from which you can see the minutes silence, albeit without sound. http://www.earthcam.com/jfk/ All the best, John COPA 2009 Schedule: Friday, November 20 Early Bird Lunch, 12:00 pm Founder’s Grill, off lobby, Hotel Lawrence Dinner, 5:30 pm, Rodeo Bar & Grill, Adolphus Hotel, 1321 Commerce Street COPA keynote speaker, Jim Douglass, author of JFK and the Unspeakable 7:00 pm, Mezzanine level, Adolphus Hotel Movies, 10:00 pm, Second floor Rear, Hotel Lawrence, Houston & Jackson Sts Resource room open on 2nd floor rear Friday to Sunday, books and DVDs, authors Saturday, November 21 Speakers 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Second floor Rear, Hotel Lawrence 9:00 am – Ronnie Dugger, former editor of The Texas Observer (remote) 9:30 am – Lisa Pease, co-author of The Assassinations and editor of Probe 10:00 am – Jim DiEugenio, author of Destiny Betrayed and editor of Probe 10:30 am – Pat Speer, producer of "The Mysterious Death of Number 35" 11:00 am - Dr. Cyril Wecht, M.D., J.D., former president American Academy of Forensic Sciences. This devotion, which entailed studying every bit of testimony regarding the evidence, and hundreds of articles on gunshot wounds and X-rays, led to a unique perspective on the medical aspects of the assassination. Mr. Speer continues to investigate the case, and make new discoveries, some of which will be revealed for the first time in his presentation at COPA. His perspective is explained in part in his online video series and DVD, The Mysterious Death of Number 35, as well as his ever-expanding online book at www.patspeer.com Doug Valentine is the author of five books. 9. Kathy, I just want to echo what John said. Positive outlook, enjoy life. All my best, John
  10. As I said, we have three COPA speakers to be broadcast, though this may increase. The education forum's online seminars were purely text based, but we expand upon this. If some forum participants who intend on contributing and also have a webcam we could, theoretically, have ed forum broadcasts separate to COPA. That's one option. We could leave it as it is and have text seminars on the ed forum and the broadcasts from COPA. The broadcast will be done through ustream.tv. This means that they can be recorded while they are being broadcast and will remain online. We could then put them on youtube. As I said in another thread on the main assassination forum I have begun making a promotional video for the COPA conference. We could do the same for the education forum online seminars. The broadcast is a very simple process. If someone has a webcam it takes less than 5 minutes to get on air, so long as they have been given the login details for the ustream account. I did a run through process with Doug Valentine yesterday and it was very quick. If we were to do ed forum broadcasts as well from members we would need someone to do the timekeeping and make sure that there is a smooth changeover between speakers. Last year Cyril Wecht spoke via webcast. I set up a private chat with Ben Wecht, who was assisting Cyril. I then sent questions to Cyril from people in Dallas and from people online. I would tell them when to log in and when to log out, making way for the next speaker. Let's have a discussion on where we want to go with this.
  11. I should first point out, for the sake of balance, that Lancer are also holding their conference over the same weekend and that they, traditionally, have closer ties to Lancer than COPA, but there is a good amount of crossover. I've been trying to use the net to publicise the conference as best I can. Firstly, I started running facebook adverts targeting students in Universities in Dallas and Austin encouraging them to attend the conference. This is surprisingly cheap. I've spent less than a dollar and the advert has appeard on 7,000 facebook pages so far. This process is, however, limited as nobody has actually clicked on the advert to see its full content. I made a promotional video for COPA's last Los Angeles conference. That was seen 1500 times. I have made another one for Dallas this year, but I'm having trouble with my editing software. It should be ready in the next few days. I have started compiling a list of blogs that have recently carried stories on the Kennedy assassination. I intend to contact them with information such as the promo video and the news that we will be broadcasting some of our content. The blogs should be able to embed the live stream in one of their posts. The other online medium we can use is forums such as this one. If anyone is a member of other forums in which they think there may be interest in the Kennedy assassination, please post up details. I encourage people to join the discussion on the thread that John has linked to with regard to online seminars.
  12. I thought that I might float the idea that we relaunch the education forum seminar that coincides with the conferences on the JFK assassination in Dallas. I believe the last time we did this was 2007 and it proved quite successful. A number of people offer to write an original paper on a subject of their choice relating to the assassination, then a timetable is set up. Each contributor posts their article at a certain time over the weekend of the 20th-22nd. If we're lucky some people attending the COPA and Lacer conferences might be able to give us updates on developments there. COPA will broadcast some of their speakers live over the internet. So far I believe those speakers to be Cyril Wecht, Doug Valentine and possibly Jim Douglass live from Dallas. Others might be included in this. We could set up a thread about each of these speakers and hold discussions on the talk as it happens. Would others be interested in reestablishing this online conference? I would be prepared to write a piece. All the best, John
  13. If you have registered with veoh.com you can watch the package there online. Executive action is available on youtube as well.
  14. Also, part 1 of the debate is online now, http://blackopradio.com/archives2009.html
  15. Bill Kelly usually loves to do transcripts (well, maybe he doesn't love it!).
  16. Jim DiEugenio will be debating John McAdams tomorrow evening at 6pm (EST) on Black Op Radio. If I were to hold a debate I would want either Jim or Walt Brown arguing for the critics. It promises to be a very interesting affair.
  17. I came across this video on youtube of a possible shooter in the Nix film. I gather that this documentary is reasonably old. Does anyone know how accurate the work of this French technician is?
  18. Some comments from the maker of the video in reponse to youtube users 1 of 4 Partial and misleading information doesnt help your cause. Your definition describing the rifle as second hand, misleads people into thinking it was a poor rifle. All military rifles are second hand. When you say he could have purchased a new rifle but would have had to give his name? That is more misleading nonsense, there were not mandatory rifle registration laws then. 2 of 4 When you say his scope was misaligned it is also intentionally misleading. It gives the reader an impression that his scope was not functional. The rifle tests were conducted by FBI firearms expert Robert Frazier. He tested the rifle and found that at 100 yards, it fired 2.5 to 5 inches too high, and 2 to 5 inches too far to the right. Ironically, this slight misalignment actually benefited Oswald. 3 of 4 With a 160 grain 6.5 Carcano round, on a target 88 yards away, traveling at 11 MPH, the vertical lead would have been just less than 4 inches, and the horizontal would have been approximately 2 inches. Please dont mislead with blanket statements like, misaligned scope. 4 of 4 And finally, about my rifle being accurate, my rifle was made at the same plant as LHOs, and it was manufactured the same year. LHOs rifle was roughly 20 years old when he shot JFK, mine is now 60+ year past the date it was manufactured and shoots very well, but somehow you wish to mislead people that my rifle is accurate, while LHOs was not. Weak. Im my other video posted here on youtube, I fire seven rounds from this same rifle at a 24 inch by 24 inch wooden target posted at roughly seventy yards. I was able to get off seven shots, all hits, in 6.8 seconds. And yes, it would have been easy (for anyone familiar with this type of rifle, Oswald was familiar with one) to accurately get the shots off as Oswald did. 7 of 8 Craig never saw the rifle, he certainly never observed a 7.65 Mauser, and his own statements support that. He alleges that he clearly saw 7.65 Mauser on the top of the receiver. Thats interesting, because the top of all the 7.65 Mausers is covered by the scope mount, he never would have been able to have seen the 7.65 stamp as he alleged. 8 of 8 And lastly, the recovery of the rifle was filmed by Tom Alyea of WFAA-TV, and his footage shows the rifle to be a Mannlicher-Carcano. Please Google "firearms factoids bogus buff ballistics." For a more in depth look at that claim. This site also provides information how the Carcano could easily be mistaken for a Mauser. What do you all make of this video and the creators comments? The video has 1940 views, so it is not very popular by youtube standards.
  19. I'm interested in compiling a list between us of people who have expressed the opinion that JFK's murder was as a result of a conspiracy or was, at least, suspicious. By notables I mean public figures like journalists, authors, politicians and those close to the Kennedys. I suppose they can be put into two categories, those who openly opine on the subject, and those who have expressed themselves through actions. By the latter I would mean Jackie Kennedy's behaviour in ordering an investigation into the murder would suggest that she believed in a conspiracy. In the memoir 'Palimpsest', Gore Vidal lambastes Gerald Posner and lauds the work of Waldron and Hartman, believing Kennedy to have been murdered by Marcello, Trafficante and another mobster whose name escapes me. Can anyone add other examples? I will update this first post to reflect the names that we come up with to make browsing the thread easier.
  20. This video of the Church Committee was uploaded to youtube today. In it a CIA official confirms that the CIA has journalists on the payroll. Does anyone know who is being interviewed? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzUsvUkvvQM
  21. I just contacted Mack Royal on facebook. Thanks Nathaniel. Thanks kathleen
  22. I'm looking for as much stock footage from the assassination and JFK's time in office online as I can get. I've pretty much found all of the best material available on youtube. Many thanks to Gil Jesus, David Von Pein and several unknown others for the volume of material they have up there. Would anyone be able to suggest websites where I might be able to get some stock footage from the missile crisis, bay of pigs, Vietnam war, JCS? I already have quite a lot of footage, but I'm trying to get as much new material as possible. Most of that online has already been used in previous documentaries. Although I will be using a huge amount of original material I would still like some new stuff. Photographic archives would also be welcome. I have saved a large amount of photographs from this forum and I'm sure there is much more to cover. Many thanks, John
  23. I'm looking for peoples input on a few things for the documentry. Would you be able to summarise what events, motives and people surrounding the assassination that you feel to be most pertinent. Who are the most important witnesses, excluding those in Dealey Plaza. I know this is difficult to do, but generally, what motives and themes do you feel should be covered? I'm simply looking for suggestions like -Abraham Bolden and the Chicago plot -JFK and Vietnam -Richard Case Nagell etc Many thanks, John
  24. I will be on black op radio tonight for anyone who wants to hear a bit more about the project. It will be available via podcast also. http://www.blackopradio.com
  25. Dawn Meredith tells me that Oliver Stone gave Bill Maher a copy on air last night and told him to read it. That must be the reason for the huge jump in sales. It seems that Stone still has very much a keen interest in the assassination.
