Dirty Tricks: Nixon, Watergate and the CIA

I'm pleased to announce the publication of my book, Dirty Tricks: Nixon, Watergate and the CIA on the 'dirty tricks' used by the Nixon campaign in the 1968 and 1972 elections - the Anna Chennault affair, the Ellsberg break-in and Watergate. The book is now in stock at Amazon and I am happy to answer questions about it here. Here's a summary and some advance reviews: SUMMARY The victory of Richard Nixon in the US presidential election of 1968 swung on an “October Surprise”— a treasonous plot engineered by key figures in the Republican Party to keep the South Vietnamese government away from peace talks in Paris, costing thousands of American lives. Dirty Tricks provides compelling new evidence of Anna Chennault’s Nixon-approved role in sabotaging the peace talks and ensuring a Nixon White House. Dirty Tricks also provides the first detailed analysis of the CIA’s recently-released internal history of Watergate, documenting the backgrounds of the burglars and their associations with the Agency in unprecedented detail, and how the Nixon White House sought to implicate the CIA in the emerging scandal. CIA Director Richard Helms’ relationship with Watergate burglar E. Howard Hunt was much closer than previously disclosed and the CIA agent inside the plot was sent on a double agent mission by American intelligence after he got out of prison. The alleged target of the Watergate break-ins was DNC chairman Larry O’Brien’s phone. Dirty Tricks reveals that the burglars didn't know where O’Brien’s office was and tapped the wrong phone with a bug that didn't work while O’Brien was in Miami preparing for the 1972 convention. Prosecutor Earl Silbert could "never determine the precise motivation for the burglary” but Dirty Tricks explains the political and sexual nature of the calls overheard on DNC official Spencer Oliver’s phone, and why no bug was found at the DNC until three months after the Watergate arrests. Drawing on newly-declassified files and previously-unpublished documents, Dirty Tricks debunks the myths around Watergate and deepens our understanding of the “dirty tricks” that undermined democracy during the Nixon years. These scandals turn on the covert action of two powerful interest groups—the senior CIA officers around Helms, and the key advisers around Nixon – in this chilling story of political espionage and deception. REVIEWS “While we have fundamental disagreements about 'Watergate' and the Deep State agenda that shaped it, O’Sullivan is to be congratulated on an impeccably researched work of investigative reporting that adds greatly to our understanding of the affair and its mysteries" - Jim Hougan (author, Secret Agenda). “Dirty Tricks goes well beyond anything yet published, in revealing the mysterious links between the Watergate scandal and the CIA. Was the bungled burglary part of an internecine effort to topple President Nixon? Was the cover-up for fear of secrets being divulged, from a Washington call-girl ring to the Kennedy assassination? This meticulously-researched book draws upon never-before-seen documents in addressing such questions, in a spy-versus-spy story that fills in major gaps in our recent history" - Dick Russell (author, The Man Who Knew Too Much). “Shane O’Sullivan’s new book on Watergate, Dirty Tricks, draws on the millions of records that have become available since 2016, chiefly from the CIA. Anyone interested in comparing that crisis with the present needs to consult the fresh information and perspectives in this well-researched and timely book" - Peter Dale Scott (author, The American Deep State: Big Money, Big Oil, and the Struggle for U.S. Democracy). “This brilliantly researched book will bring back fond memories to those of us who, as was said at the time, wallowed in Watergate. It provides a new generation with the opportunity to relive this intense experience" - Alan Galbraith (attorney for the Democratic National Committee, 1972).
  2. https://medium.com/@pazmarverde/laurie-dusek-sirhans-lawyer-explains-that-even-rfk-jr-believes-in-sirhan-s-innocence-dbbbf2e02119 Please, note: original of an article by Michele Metta also published in Italian here My today’s article is a conversation with Laurie Dusek. She is the lawyer of Sirhan Sirhan, the presumed assassin of RFK. Laurie, let me please thank you, since I am really glad you accepted to answer my questions. The first one of them is why you decided to become Sirhan’s lawyer. Robert Kennedy has been a hero of mine since I was a kid. In the very beginning, I thought Sirhan was guilty, as I saw him on TV with a gun in his hand but, the more I read over the years the more I became convinced that there was a lot more to the story. When I met Bill Pepper I was impressed with his knowledge of the 60s and when he asked if I would be interested in helping him represent Sirhan I jumped at the chance. 50 years later and the words, concerns and hopes of RFK are still relevant today! We, as a country, NEED to find the truth behind his death. When people question my dedication and determination to this case all I can say is we as a country, need to learn from our past, our history, but we can’t do that by hiding from it or ignoring it. Today, as a country we are questioning how we got where we are -politically, economically, ethically and morally. We hear about “Russian” interference in our last election but forgot about the “interference” in the election of 1968. In 1968 the leading candidate of the Democratic party was killed and the media and the masses turned their heads and refused to address the issue of who was responsible… RFK was not Killed by Russians, he was not killed by Sirhan B. Sirhan, he was Killed by forces from within our country and those forces are still active today. RFK wanted to help the poor and the disenfranchised. He wanted to stop the violence within this country and around the world. These are issues that have been largely ignored and thus still face us today. RFK was not a saint, he was a statesman who cared about our country and cared about those who were less fortunate. Let us honor his memory by helping those that are less fortunate and by finding the truth behind his death. As RFK said so eloquently, in a speech in S. Africa, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can strike down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” Let’s send forth as many ripples as we can!!! Have you ever received threats, or insults, for being Sirhan’s legal representative? I personally have not received a threat. I can’t say that Bill Pepper or Dan Brown have been physically threatened but they have been subjected to harassment -especially Dan. Both Dan and Bill have had issues with the IRS after they started working on the case. Dan has been audited for 4 or 5 times and even though nothing is ever found they keep auditing him. He has a very interesting story regarding the audits… Dan also has an issue with his luggage when he flies. His problems started right after his first visit with Sirhan. In one incident Dan noticed an airline official taking his luggage from the baggage area and when Dan questioned them he was told by the person holding his luggage “I have instructions to take all luggage from the Kennedy party” to which Dan replied “I am not part of any Kennedy party… “and demanded his suitcases. Similar incidents have happened to him on subsequent occasions. Our phones were tapped for a while… As far as being insulted- people either think what I’m doing is great or they look at me as if I’m crazy and so I pay no attention. Which evidence exist that he is innocent? a. Eye-witnesses never put Sirhan close enough to the Senator to be responsible for the fatal shot, which was 1.5 to 2 inches from the Senator’s head when fired. Distance is known due to gunpowder residue on the Senators hair and clothing as stated in autopsy report. b. Sirhan was pinned to the steam table and his hand was held down after he fired 2 shots. Impossible for him to have shot the Senator. c. Witnesses placed Sirhan in front of the Senator but all wounds sustained by RFK were shot from behind him at an upward trajectory. d. The Pruszynsky tape (recorded by Stanislaw Pruszynski, a Polish reporter covering the Presidential election and overlooked for 40 years) shows there was a 2nd gun as 13 shots are heard on that tape. Shots 3 & 4 and 7 & 8 are too close to each other to have been fired from the same gun. Numerous tests were conducted on 22 caliber pistols and it’s physically impossible for 1 person to shoot 2 shots from the same gun in that time span. Said test were conducted by Phil Van Praag, an electrical engineer with over 35 years of experience. e. Too many victims (besides the Senator, 5 other people were wounded) and too many bullet holes in door jams and ceiling tiles to have been caused by Sirhan’s gun which could hold only 8 bullets. A lot, if not all of the tiles and doors with bullet holes were destroyed by the LAPD. And there are all the actions taken by the LAPD- destruction of evidence, Scott Enyart’s photos being taken from him, switching of bullets at trial (the bullet taken from RFK’s neck -Peoples exhibit 47- was marked “TN 31” by Dr. Noguchi when he removed the bullet but in 1975 in front of the Wenke Commission, Peoples exhibit #47 had “TNDW” as a marking…) The miss-conduct of DeWayne Wolfer, the chief criminalist at the LAPD Scientific Investigation Division who was put in charge of the investigation of the ballistics. Right after the shooting- a couple who identified themselves as the Bernsteins were outside the Ambassador hotel and they saw a young woman and a man run by them shouting “we shot him” and when the Bernsteins asked “shot who?” the young woman replied “Kennedy; we shot him…” The Bernsteins reported this to LAPD Sergeant Sharaga who put out an APB (all point bulletin) only to be told by higher ups to retract the APB… What are Sirhan’s inside feelings today about the assassination of RFK? Sirhan’s feelings regarding the assassination in many ways have remained the same over the past 50 years. He has always stated that he liked RFK and wished what happened hadn’t. He now knows he did not kill the Senator, as for years he was told by his attorneys he was the killer, and that offers him some comfort and yet if he didn’t do it why is he still in jail??? When I went with RFK Jr. last December to see Sirhan, Sirhan expressed his shame about being associated with the death of Bobby’s father and Bobby patted Sirhan’s hand and told him “I know you did not kill my father.” I believe this gave Sirhan some comfort. Sirhan also told Bobby “Innocent or not, inside I feel guilty as your Dad should not have experienced that nor your family, it pains me…” We all for sure know Sirhan because of what happened in 1968. I would instead like to please know from you who intimately is the Sirhan you personally have known through these years of contacts with him. Sirhan is a kind, quite man who stays to himself inside prison. He’s articulate and stays abreast of current matters by listening to the radio. He used to read newspapers etc. but now says he has “lost interest” in reading. I like Sirhan and over the past 11 years I have become somewhat protective of him — especially the more I learn about how he and his family were taken advantage of by Grant Cooper and other legal officials who said they were there to help… What does he feel for still being in prison in spite of his innocence? Sirhan is very religious but in a quiet, personal way. I feel compelled to say Sirhan is a Christian, as many people believe he’s a Muslim and therefore a terrorist. I don’t understand that rationale but I have encountered it over the years that I have worked on the case. I believe it’s Sirhan’s strong religious faith that has sustained him over the past 50 years. The first time I met Sirhan, (June 6, 2007), he told me “if anything happens to me in here I didn’t do it…”. I am amazed at Sirhan’s inner strength and sometimes when I feel overwhelmed I think of him and my mind set changes. Sirhan is a Palestinian. Do you believe that who framed him chose Sirhan exactly because of his roots? Sirhan was a distraction that night-he caught the public’s attention and everyone focused on him and paid no attention to anyone else. It reminds me of a magician who tells the audience he’s going to make an elephant disappear and calls on an assistant to help. Well, we all know you can’t make an elephant disappear but you can distract the audience and divert their attention to a different part of the stage. Sirhan’s being a Palestinian was important and was successfully used by those in power against him. His being a Palestinian was offered as a reason behind his motive to kill the Senator. It made good reading and the media covered that aspect but failed to actually cover the real story. I find a lot of fault with the media for the way the public sees Sirhan — he was portrayed as a terrorist, as a deranged person and from the very beginning as the ‘SOLE’ gunman. The media helped cover up the truth. During my recent interview of Stephen Jaffe, a really preeminent member of Garrison’s staff, the DA thanks whose courage in 1967 the investigation on the assassination of JFK revived, Jaffe reveled that he was the organizer of an astonishing, secret rendezvous between RFK and Garrison himself, adding: “Before that meeting, I had a contact from a close friend of the Kennedy family who asked me to arrange the meeting. We also had help from another US Senator. RFK told Garrison in New York, at this very confidential meeting, that he was going to reopen the investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy but only after he was elected President. Only with that power, he explained, could he do so.” Please, Laurie, what do you think about this revelation? I believe one of the main reasons Senator Kennedy was killed is because if elected President he would have reopened the investigation of the assassination of his brother, JFK. Those involved in Dallas couldn’t let that happen. You should read David Talbot’s book “Brothers” which goes into detail about this. I remember when I went with RFK Jr to see Sirhan, Bobby asked me what I thought happened that night and I told him “I don’t think it mattered what route your Father took that night as I believe as soon as he won the Democratic primary he was a marked man and he wasn’t going to leave there alive…” I have kept quiet for the past 11 years regarding who I thought was responsible for the death of RFK as it is my job as Sirhan’s attorney to show how he could not have committed the crime; it is NOT my job to prove who did do it. Being solo practitioners and working on the case pro-bono, Bill Pepper and I did not have the finances to do any investigative work with the exception of the work done by Dan Brown. We focused on the legal documents filed by other attorneys on Sirhans behalf (which wasn’t always the truth as Grant Cooper did nothing on Sirhan’s behalf whereas Larry Teeter did an incredible job on Sirhans behalf) the LAPD and FBI files as well as numerous books on the subject. I thought it was extremely important NOT to say who I thought was responsible as I felt we were on shaky ground and 1 incorrect statement could negate years of hard work… I was pissed when the State of California in one of their replies to a Court submission by Bill and I, said we should the possibility of a second gunman but didn’t show who it was. In the same Court filing they said we also should the possibility of mind control but didn’t show who did it…. It’s our job to show how and why Sirhan could not have killed the Senator- it is NOT our job to find or name the killer(s). You just reiterated that RFK Jr. himself too started to believe in Sirhan’s innocence. A fact that also emerges from the appreciation he gave to the really talented Shane O’Sullivan for his documentary on the assassination of RFK. What does this documentary tell, and why it matters? Shane’s documentary is important because it shines a light on the many different aspects of this case. Shane is the only journalist who has focused on the work of Dr. Dan Brown and his efforts to de-program Sirhan. The concept of a Manchurian Candidate is met with total disbelief even though we have submitted credible documentation of studies conducted by the CIA showing this was something our government did. We relied on declarations submitted by Dan Brown and Alan Scheflin which detailed the history of the CIA’s involvement with the Manchurian Candidate. This is extremely important as it goes to whether Sirhan acted alone, whether Sirhan acted “under free will” and if the Manchurian Candidate theory is proved it shows government involvement… Another factor that Shane focuses on is how the LAPD miss-handled the case. From the very beginning evidence and eye-witnesses were ignored, evidence was destroyed prior to the trial and more evidence was destroyed after the trial and that same evidence should have been preserved for an appeal. Key pieces of evidence (autopsy report) were kept from the Defense team for weeks. Eyewitnesses were not interviewed by the LAPD- they were interrogated in an effort to get them to change their statements. Shane has taken an objective view of the case and by doing so he has exposed a lot of the inconsistencies by the LAPD, the District Attorney’s office, and the FBI. I do not believe the inconsistencies were innocent oversights or due to negligence- I believe they were deliberate. I say that as 50 years later I still face obstacles in Court and with the prison system.
  3. Have not seen any of these - thought there may be some interest.... comes from the tail end of the Doc release Index without dates or notes... https://www.archives.gov/files/research/jfk/releases/2018/176-10036-10028.pdf
  4. The FPCC was co-founded by a future CIA agent? We already know the FBI had an informant at the top of the organization in ‘63. Were there any actual Castro supporters running it? And the supposed pro-Castro leftist turned spook, Richard Gibson, is still alive at 87. Jefferson Morley has the goods here: http://www.newsweek.com/richard-gibson-cia-spies-james-baldwin-amiri-baraka-richard-wright-cuba-926428?amp=1&__twitter_impression=true
  5. So I was thinking about the reports filed at the time of the Mexico Incident.... Americans at that Consulate was a big deal... The CIA even had a team for following targets on the ground... LILYRIC? Sorry, doing this on my tab Anyway, as Win and Mann said, outside the hotel and consulates, there is no record of Oswald.... Why not? Given what the CIA and FBI knew of Oswald at the time from New Orleans... and that both had assets in the Cuban Consulate, why do we not have an activity report on this man... the detailed reports of LITAMIL/9 are incredibly specific.. Azcue was a Cuban Intel agent and would, should be interested in the American from at least an Asset or Penetration POV Did Teresa Proenza mention this man she claims, after the fact, to have run into and turn over to Duran on the 27th? (crickets) AFTER the 22nd, ... well that’s another story.... But if we look at LITAMIL/9 reports of the time, he is asked if he or anyone else has seen the man of whom a photo is shown.. No.... the recent release of docs has shown that the theory that “Oswald” in Mexico may have been a charade from a number of angles.... and for a variety of reasons... as was the assassination. That the entirety of the story is just that, as Hoover wrote in Jan 1964.... I realize I return to this as a pillar of my conviction it was indeed an entirely false story... and to my first question, why? Knowing it was False in Jan... he proceeds to invent a trip over the next 9 months and puts it in the WCR... why? Hoover was primarily concerned with Hoover.... imho, he was covering for his asset in Dallas... Harvey Oswald.... The HSCA pulls the worlds largest rubber stamp and holds it over Lopez’s head.... like an axe..
  6. I would be interested to read informed comments about the European edition of the Overseas Weekly and connections to Eugene Bernald who bought time for American religious broadcasts on international radio stations. But Edwin A. Walker specifically named Bernald as the person out to tar him with the brush of the John Birch Society and thereby oust him from his job. This is the same Edwin Walker that Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly took a pot shot at, before he allegedly shot Kennedy and Tippett.
  7. RFK refused the invite by JFK to become the head of the CIA. Sounds interesting to imagine what would have happened if RFK had accepted
  8. Daniel Ellsberg lit the fuse that exploded as "Watergate" with his release of the "utterly useless" Pentagon Papers. Without Ellsberg, there would have been no "Plumbers," and there would have been no Watergate. At all relevant times, Ellsberg had "higher than Top Secret" clearances. In league with two of the major CIA Operation Mockingbird mouthpieces, the New York Times and the Washington Post, Ellsberg leaked the documents with the singular knowing intention of getting E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy moved into position in the White House and Nixon administration in order to launch the CIA hoax that the world knows as "Watergate." A key part of the scheme was for the CIA to work with Hunt and Liddy to stage a phony "break-in" in September 1971 at the office of CIA-linked psychiatrist Dr. Lewis Fielding in Beverly Hills, supposedly to get hold of Ellsberg's psychiatric files. Ostensibly, Ellsberg had previously been a "patient" of Fielding. The actual and only intent of the staged "break-in" was to give Ellsberg a guaranteed "Get Out of Jail Free" card that would be melodramatically played years later, with great fanfare. It was carefully arranged so that no trier of fact ever would even have an opportunity to try the "merits" or facts of the case of the alleged "break-in" of Fielding's office—and it's a good thing, because even a cursory inspection of the "facts" surrounding the event proves beyond the slightest shade of doubt that both Ellsberg and Fielding were entirely in on the fraud with the CIA, Hunt, Liddy, and the Cuban CIA veterans who were brought in to stage it. The full context is covered thoroughly in my book, Watergate: The Hoax, but the publishers have kindly made the chapter dealing specifically with the Fielding farce freely available as an excerpt, here: CIA Crimes: 1971—Daniel Ellsberg and The Fielding Farce I'll be happy to answer any questions. Ashton Gray
  9. In a new article, the Italian journalist Michele Metta shows CIA documents exist strongly connecting, from day one, Clay Shaw's Centro Mondiale Commerciale, the Italian branch of Permindex, to the Israeli Intelligence http://www.lantidiplomatico.it/dettnews-centro_mondiale_commerciale_nuovi_dirompenti_documenti_cia_confermano_i_legami_tra_cmc_e_israele/82_23303/
  10. Right Hotel, wrong dates... unless we're talking about a different Oswald or someone impersonating him.... According to the needed evidence, he leaves the hotel the morning of Oct 2nd (after having him leave that afternoon since the photos of "Oswald" were taken on Oct 2 at 12:22pm he must leave after that... but then GOODPASTURE dates it OCT 1 so they can drop the 2:30pm Oct 2 departure time for the 8:30 am bus... If the CIA has him entering Mexico in a car on the 26th... and the CIA informants have him in Mexico already... and we know for a fact Harvey is at the Paines Oct 4th... PAUL et al: it was a charade... the man who Ruby killed was not in Mexico City... ALVARADO was a CIA asset, DURAN did not say the things they say she did... and the ODIO sisters were correct.

    201 File - Help needed

Please, I need your help. Thanks in advance. If a CIA document states that news about someone are inside a 201-XXXXXX file, where XXXXXX stands for whatever number, does this mean that that someone is CIA agent?
  12. Has anyone else read this book? "Written as a fast-moving novel, Charles W. Weaver writes with more than a casual observer's perspective. From a young radio salesman dispatched to collect the monthly advertising revenue from Jack Ruby's SILVER SPUR in Dallas, to overseeing a ship docked in international waters of the Baltic Sea that may have been doing more than just playing Rock 'n Roll, Weaver's fictionalized web of conspiracies will leave the reader with little doubt about the men who killed Kennedy." Triple Double Cross: The Story Behind the Conspiracies to Murder John F. Kennedy Hardcover – June 10, 2008 by Charles W. Weaver (Author) In the 1970s I met and talked with Bill Weaver before he wrote this book. I was investigating the bogus claims made about the start of Radio Caroline in the UK during 1964. What I learned from Bill Weaver all checked out as true. I recently bought a copy of this book he privately published. He had boxes of books delivered to his garage, only to have them wiped out by Hurricane Ike flooding. Meantime, Bill had died following a long physical illness. The book falls into four sections. One part is based upon input from Jones Harris; another part centers around Phillip de Vosjoli; another part deals with the offshore 'pirate' radio ship Bon Jour which Weaver claims was chartered to the CIA and anchored off Stockholm as a listening post to KGB transmissions in the Baltic Sea. The ship station called Radio Nord lasted only a brief time and was allegedly the work of Clint Murchison and Gordon McLendon with management by Robert Thompson. Weaver claims that Radio Nord was a 'cover' for the CIA listening post on board ship. Weaver worked in management for McLendon at Houston and he did have custody of the vessel when it berthed at Galveston in March 1963, and remained there until December 1963. That part I have verified. But Weaver claims and his wife who I have spoken to confirms, that Weaver was sent to Stockholm to close Radio Nord down after it had served its CIA purpose. That was in the summer of 1961. The last part of the book appears to have been written hastily by someone else after Weaver died - because it is poorly written and total fiction. There are only a few copies of this book still available. After I bought a used copy at exorbitant price, others came forward to offer copies at a reasonable price. I am working on a research project for publication and I would like feedback from anyone who has read this book.

    JONES HARRIS

Jones Harris is still alive and he is the person who began the questions about whether Lee Harvey Oswald was standing on the steps of the Book Depository the moment that Kennedy was shot. This raised the question of how LHO could be in two places at once. Then it spawned the Billy Lovelady controversy. From there we ended up with two people: Lee Oswald and Harvey Oswald. What is the current strength / weakness of this form of speculation?
  14. Why are the timelines relating to the assassination of John Kennedy so limited? I note that Larry Hancock in 'Shadow Warfare' does include a reference to the mv Olga Patricia, and while Joan Mellen devoted an entire book ('Our Man in Haiti') to de Mohrenschildt, she makes no reference to Don Pierson who occupied the same time and space and involved people like William Colby in his claims for redress against Haiti. The same is true of the biography of Gordon McLendon which does reference the mv Bon Jour (later renamed Mi Amigo), but it does not tie the fate of that ship into the activities of offshore broadcasting in the UK from 1964 to 1967, and neither does it include any information about McLendon's involvement in the Republic of Ireland prior to that time. There are many other missing threads in the currently limited timeline and plethora of books about the JFK Assassination. But how can a comprehensive study be undertaken if half of the evidence is excluded to begin with?

  17. Since I am of the conclusion Oswald did not go to MX at all in Sept/Oct 1963... any and all evidence of said travel must be fabricated for OSWALD from either real evidence for someone else or from thin air. This means the "car" story is also part of the plan for Phase 1: Oswald the conspirator... and never happened. So let's look at some of the evidence suggesting he took a car.... and/or was driven. ================ When we understand he was in Dallas at Odio and then at the shooting range that weekend, you can begin to see what the FBI did. Yet initially they were given info via the I&NS thru Hosty to Hoover on Oct 18th.... Lee HARVEY again... We will see down below how different info goes to different people at diff times... "At 2:05 pm, 11/27/63, while talking to Inspector Don Moore of Division 5 .... . I read to him an article from The Houston Press, dated 11/27/63, which was telephonically furnished to this office ..... in which article stated Oswald left the US by private car, ownership unknown, and returned on 10/3/63, through Laredo, Texas. He advised that Oswald did travel by car and did return to the US through Laredo, Texas on 10/3/63." (FBI memorandum from ASAS J.T. Sylvester, Jr., to SAC New Orleans, 11/27/63.) The FBI finds the initial evidence points to Oswald having traveled by car. Yet then proceeds to take the next 8 months proving he took a bus. The story of the BRILL's results... and again the "car" theory is not corroborated..... So is the car story simply that? The CIA - D A Phillips - creating a circumstance where conspiracy MUST be considered seriously... now we can see how ALVARADO and his $6500 red-headed negro fits.... He is driven down to MX to get paid to kill JFK to then escape thru Cuba to Russia - pure PHASE 1 He cannot be driven down since he was a Lone Nut unconnected to anyone - conspiracy car becomes Lone bus - pure Phase 2. The evidence of Oswald taking a car into and out of Mexico is just as poor as the subsequently invented evidence of the FBI and their Gobernacion asset(s). It is impossible to proceed unless there is awareness of both the CIA and FBI assets entrenched within the Mexican Government from which the desired "scenario" could be developed.... We start with the manner in which the State Dept gets their info for the following telegram.... In Warren Commission Document 442 we find a telegram from Mexico City to Sec of State Rusk stating the records show on October 3, 1963 a Lee HENRY Oswald left Mexico by Automobile. https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=10876&relPageId=9 NONE, I repeat none of the evidence has the name HENRY... (see bottom image) so why would MANN use it? One last bit of intrigue is the statement that “the IMMIGRATION RECORDS show entry into Mexico of one Lee HENRY Oswald” when there is not a single piece of I&NS evidence that substitutes HENRY for HARVEY as either his middle or in the case of Mr. H.O. LEE, his first name. In fact the 3x5 cards from which this information originates, which in turn came from the FM-11 coming from the FM-8 visa all says HARVEY (images and links earlier in this document) while the exit information refers to Harvey Oswald LEE. The FM11 is the source for the information given to Tijerina to type up for Harvey CASH of the US consulate at Nuevo Laredo. It is also proven that the FBI asset who provided this document "added notes and details to aid clarity" #99 is Harvey Oswald Lee... who will be listed and alphabetized under "O" as opposed to "L" - his traveling last name... On page 23 of CE2121, after the name Buell Moore and before Maurice Ouellet we have “HARVEY OSWALD LEE, FM-8 #24085”. Except according to the Mexican officials, they believed the passenger’s name from the visa was Lee, Harvey Oswald which becomes “H.O. Lee” on his departing documents. LEE comes well before MOORE. In fact, Mr. LEE should have been #800 before Mr. Mason. One has to wonder who in Mexico would have known this passenger to be Mr. OSWALD when preparing this list as opposed to Mr. LEE as stated by his travel documents. The CIA, by 7pm on 11/23 had received info from US Consulate at NUEVO LAREDO (Harvey CASH)... yet what CASH tells the CIA is not the same as what he tells I&NS... I&NS in turn relays info to FBI SA Hosty.... CIA and the STATE dept are initially pushing the Oswald-Castro conspiracy while FBI and I&NS are being misled by these two... The CIA's Nov 23rd note about the car travel COMES from CASH yet stays within the CIA/STATE partnership. Despite all the evidence showing HARVEY... Amb MANN still sends that note I posted above (NOT using STATE Dept Channels??) as I felt, the STATE dept would help the CIA with the CASTRO PLANNED IT charade... and then enter Alvarado on the 26th to tell his "Oswald gets money" story. The theory I am putting forth is that all records related to Oswald going to and coming from Mexico City are part of a 2-phase (PD Scott) plan to first "suggest" a Cuban conspiracy thru the evidence, remind people of Oswald in Mexico talking to KOSTIKOV (which of course he never did) and begin letting out created evidence which backs the story... when that effectively stops inquiry and the idea of a conspiracy is simply too much for LBJ to shoulder... the LNers come out of the woodwork... In the afternoon of the 22nd, within hours of the assassination, "Presidential staff" arrived at all 4 bus lines in MX and took the pertinent records for the 26th/27th and the 2nd/3rd ONLY. They even went as far as to get the copies of these records from the different border towns as well... Arturo BOSCH's changes to the Frontera manifest to get Oswald onto an Oct 2nd 2pm bus is a great example... when the travel could not get him to agree with the established FACTS, they changed it so it would. Problem being that the "car to MX" story has just as many problems as the "bus to MX". Unless the idea was to covertly get Oswald into Mexico to stage the Sept 27th events... That STILL does not account for the calls/transcripts from the 28th, 1st, or 3rd.

  19. Hello all. I am confused.....I own the audiobook of Newman's "Oswald And The CIA" and this seems to be the 2008 Edition for absolutely sure. My confusion stems from the fact that the new epilogue (2008 ed.) is missing. It is not read by the narrator (Tom Weiner). Can anyone shed any light on this oddity? I believe this is the 2008 ed. (even has the cover?).This is unfortunate as I would've loved the newer epilogue in audio/narrative form along with the rest of the audiobook.
  20. I would like to turn the attention of Forum members to a remarkable testimony of Mr. Wynne Johnson. Wynne was 15 years old in 1963, and had a girlfriend Vicki. Vicki and Wynne liked to visit the roof of the Southland Center to view the scenery of Dallas. And so they did on September 7, 1963. As unexpected and unbelievable as only the life can pose, these two children became witnesses of an event which researchers of the President Kennedy assassination consider as a clear and undisputed proof of a direct contact between Oswald and Maurice Bishop alias a CIA asset David Atlee Phillips: their meeting in Dallas in September 1963. Thanks to Gaeton Fonzi’s research, we know that that meeting also included Antonio Veciana, one of the chief representatives of anti-Castro movement in Miami. It was Veciana who told Fonzi and the House Committee about the Bishop-Oswald meeting. Wynne and Vicki were approaching the Southland Center when a taxi cab passed and a young man, Lee Harvey Oswald, stepped out. Oswald entered the main lobby, met with Phillips and both men started to talk. Shortly, Veciana came in via a different entrance. And while the three men stood together in the lobby, Wynne and Vicki also entered a long corridor and headed towards the three men. Mr. Wynne Johnson recorded details of their encounter with Oswald, Phillips and Veciana in three video sequences. Wynne followed every possible lead to support his story. More than fifty years which elapsed could have taken its toll on the vividness of Wynne’s memories. However, Mr. Wynne Johnson had the courage to come forward and speak. Mr. Johnson, in my view, is an honest man and seeks neither fame nor money. Wynne also shows a certain type of charming naivety in his approach towards researchers and certain books owing to the fact that he did not research the assassination case for fifty years. This only strengthens Wynne’ testimony in my eyes. Mr. Wynne Johnson posted his story on YouTube, and this is how I came to it. I decided to suggest Wynne to present his story to the Forum members since his story is also a part of the history of the assassination case, and as such it has to be preserved. I would therefore appreciate if those researchers who disagree or have doubts about this comparatively recent testimony could express their views in a polite way – about the same polite way as it was the custom in old Forum posts from 2005. Please find here the links to Mr. Wynne Johnson’s YouTube videos: Southland Center 1963, part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKw_ELuXYj8&t=5s Southland Center 1963, part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO1-Ezw6Qkw Southland Center 1963, part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhxMlnkeFV4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wrote a message to Wynne few weeks ago. I wanted to know what could be the reason for Lee Harvey Oswald to undertake a long trip from New Orleans to Dallas and not to spend any time to converse with Phillips. This is what Mr. Wynne Johnson wrote back. I am copying the relevant part of his email with Wynne’s approval: Mr. Wynne Johnson, 9-10/2/2017: “With a certain qualification, the only people at that end of the lobby arrived in the order: Phillips, Oswald, Veciana, and then, simultaneously, Wynne and Vicki. Oswald had a very short amount of time with Phillips before Veciana came in. This is known from Oswald himself in phone conversation with Judyth Vary Baker. See her book Me & Lee. I myself know that Phillips and Oswald did not have much time together before Vicki and I came in, but slightly longer than you might think, because Vicki and I came down the long corridor at an exceptionally slow walk. … It is true that Oswald was supposed to meet with Phillips that day, but Phillips sent him away, back to New Orleans, as soon as the three of them got outside. We know this both from what Veciana told Fonzi (see his book) and what Lee himself told Judyth. What they did not know is the probable reason why Phillips changed his mind about talking to Oswald then. The reason is me. Phillips suspected that 15-year-old -- in fact, probably both of us 15-year-olds. I assure you that this actually happened. I saw Veciana in person in Miami in October, 2015. He does not remember the encounter well. We spoke entirely in Spanish. Although I did not ask him, a good friend of his had told me by e-mail that he did not know English very well in 1963. Therefore, he could well have been in a kind of foreign-language fog, so that he did not understand what was said and whatever he heard would have become easy to forget.”
  21. Absolutely insane amount of pages 75K on Frank Sturgis. In comparison to a Oswald file posted at that1archive it amounts to almost double Oswald's file size. From the page: his 75,253 page FBI file is more than four times as long as the FBI file on Watergate and almost twice as long as the combined Watergate and Kennedy assassination FBI files. Most of these pages have never been released, and if they were released it was in a highly redacted form. The file covers his paramilitary activities in Cuba, his ties to assassins and assassination plots, accusations about involvement in the Kennedy assassination and meeting with Lee Harvey Oswald, his confirmed CIA employment, his involvement in the break-in of the Chilean embassy, and possibly much more. https://www.muckrock.com/news/archives/2016/sep/21/frank-sturgis-crowdfund/ Just to clarify this is a FOIA req. for the files. But the sheer size of it all is simply mind boggling.

  23. Good Day.... FYI.... http://www.courthousenews.com/2016/01/25/conspiracy-theorist-entitled-to-foia-fees.htm <QUOTE> Courthouse News Service Conspiracy Theorist Entitled to FOIA Fees By JACK BOUBOUSHIAN (CN) - A reporter who fought the CIA for over 10 years to force it to release documents related to the Kennedy assassination is entitled to attorney's fees even if the records reveal little new information, the D.C. Circuit ruled. Former Washington Post reporter Jefferson Morley has spent years investigating a potential link between a deceased CIA officer and accused Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. Morley asked for records on George Joannides, the chief of psychological warfare operations in the CIA's Miami station at the time of the assassination. On the his website jfkfacts.com, Morley writes that Joannides controlled the Revolutionary Cuban Student Directorate, also known as the DRE, "one of the largest and most effective anti-Castro groups in the United States." He claims Joannides gave the group up to $25,000 a month and insisted the members "submit to CIA discipline." Members of the Directorate had an allegedly contentious relationship with Oswald, an ex-Marine who idolized Castro. They confronted Oswald on a street corner, "stared him down in a courtroom," challenged him to a radio debate and called on Congress to investigate him, Morley claims. Unsure of what to make of Joannides-DRE-Oswald connection, Morley asked for Joannides' personnel file. He says the CIA gave him 150 pages of "heavily redacted and obviously incomplete records." The CIA claimed it withheld information on privacy grounds or because it couldn't find the requested files. But in 2007, the D.C. Circuit ordered the CIA to look again. "Despite its burden to show that withholding is necessary, the CIA has failed even to articulate the privacy interests in the records, let alone demonstrate that such privacy interests meet the standard for an agency's withholding" under the exemption, the court wrote. The agency has to show that disclosure would constitute a "clearly unwarranted" invasion of personal privacy. The CIA eventually turned over several hundred documents, including travel records and a photograph, the value of which is "at best unclear," the D.C. Circuit said Friday. According to Morley, the records revealed that Joannides received a Career Intelligence Medal just two years after "stonewalling congressional investigators about what he knew of contacts in 1963 between accused assassin Lee Oswald and CIA-funded anti-Castro exiles in New Orleans." Morley sought attorney's fees as the prevailing party in the litigation, but a federal judge denied him, finding that Morley's efforts "yield little, if any, public benefit." On appeal, the D.C. Circuit agreed that "the released documents appear to reveal little, if anything, about President Kennedy's assassination." However, it said the court's job was not to evaluate the public value of the information received, but the potential value of what documents Morley sought. "Morley's request had potential public value. He has proffered - and the CIA has not disputed - that Joannides served as the CIA case officer for a Cuban group, the DRE, with whose officers Oswald was in contact prior to the assassination. Travel records showing a very close match between Joannides's and Oswald's times in New Orleans might, for example, have (marginally) supported one of the hypotheses swirling around the assassination,"U.S. Circuit Judge Stephen Williams said, writing for the three-judge panel. It was therefore plausible that Morley's documents request could have generated useful new information on Kennedy's assassination, "an event with few rivals in national trauma in the array of passionately held conflicting explanations," Williams said.
