Getting back to the various operational matters that were ongoing in the fall of 1963, there is an illuminating passage in the book Robert Kennedy: Brother Protector by James W. Hilty, which provides a excellent backdrop to the inner conflict that was present within the Kennedy Cabinet and members of Special Group Augmented.*

......Matters came to a head that summer. On 21 August, American-trained Vietnamese Special Forces raided Buddhist pagodas and brutally suppressed dissent. Those outrages were compounded when the administration learned that Diem, through his brother, Nhu had secretly contacted Hanoi, apparently with ideas of arranging a settlement of his own to neutralize the country. John and Robert Kennedy spent the weekend of 24 and 25 August at Hyannis Port in seclusion following the death of the president and Jacqueline Kennedy's infant son, Patrick Bouvier Kennedy. With Rusk, McNamara, Bundy, and McCone also away from Washington, the alarmists sought to take control. Convinced that the Diem government was about to topple, W. Averell Harriman and Roger Hilsman in the State Department and Michael Forrestal of the NSC staff persuaded the president by telephone to authorize a telegram containing detailed emergency instructions for the newly arrived ambassador to Vietnam, Henry Cabot Lodge. Lodge, whose appointment was intended to make the Republicans think twice before criticizing Kennedy on Vietnam, was one Republican internationalist appointee in his brother's administration that Robert Kennedy neither liked nor trusted...........

......According to Robert Kennedy, his brother regarded the decision to approve the first Lodge telegram as a major mistake, precipitated by what Maxwell Taylor called the State Department's "egregious end run." Indeed, the following Monday during a heated NSC debate the president became unnerved when he learned the Harriman-Hilsman-Forrestal weekend machinations had bypassed Rusk, McNamara, McCone, Taylor, and, just as importantly, as later events demonstrated, Robert Kennedy. "This xxxx has got to stop!" shouted the president. He appeared more distressed by the extraordinary deviation from standard practice than by the contents of the cable itself, for when President Kennedy polled each advisor none wanted to retract the cable.........

Busy with arrangements for the next day's civil rights March on Washington, Robert Kennedy was absent from that Monday's NSC meeting. He was greatly disturbed, however, by the backstairs maneuvers and by the bickering in his brother's administration. From that day on—just as he had after the Bay of Pigs debacle—he inserted himself into the inner circle of Vietnam advisors. Those advisors, he said later, were "split in two . . . the only time really, in three years, the government was broken in two in a very disturbing way."

The Homer of the JFK case -- a/k/a Gerry Patrick Hemming -- told me that the gunman in the TSBD was a "Nazi Rat Line sniper" whose target was JBC, at whom he fired "on full automatic."

Why the governor? Hemming in heavy German accent: "'Because he didn't bid high enough.'"

Was the sniper concerned that researchers would discover his identity? GPH again: "'Just be sure zey shpell my name rrright!'"

Consider the fact that Connally spent a lot of time at Tryall in Montego Bay. Maybe he knew too much. Have you read Jennet Connat's book The Irregulars, about Roald Dahl's wartime experience as an agent for British Security Coordination (BSC) for Sir William Stephenson? It is a must read.

What it reveals is that the British government was spying on the American government all during the five years Stephenson was assigned to Washington, and that Roald Dahl's job was to gather information about vice president Henry Wallace (who had leftist leanings) and who was adamant about dividing up the air routes after the war and cutting off preferences to old imperialists in British and French and other governments with colonies or dominions. The British were incensed by this and were determined to prevent Wallace's point of view from becoming dominant. Dahl got most of his information, which he fed to his superiors, from Charles Marsh, the Texas media mogul who groomed LBJ for power. Marsh was Wallace's best friend and Dahl's biggest financial backer throughout the rest of his life. The book describes their social circle in great detail, including the fact that they were part of the whole propaganda network that took in Ian Fleming, Ernest Cuneo (who founded North American Newspaper Alliance, NANA), Noel Coward, Sir William Stephenson--who later frequently the secretive haven in Jamaica where John Connally and Paul Raigorodsky would later appear.

They also set up the World Commerce Corp., described by Luce's Time magazine in 1947:

Edward R. Stettinius Jr. might well have imagined himself back in the Secretary of State's office. As newsmen trooped into a press conference with him in a grey-carpeted suite in Manhattan's Savoy-Plaza, he was flanked by a three-man Government mission from Liberia. But this time he had a business deal to announce: a $1,000,000 partnership between U.S. financiers and the Negro republic.

The deal to develop Liberia by stimulating trade was a mixture of free-trading idealism and hardheaded business. With an eye on all the backward countries of the world, Stettinius said: "With our technique and know-how, it just isn't necessary for them to live poorly. I would not, personally, be doing this on a purely commercial basis."

To supply the capital and know-how, Stettinius formed Stettinius Associates with such big wheels as General Electric's Chairman Philip D. Reed, ex-Under Secretary of State Joseph C. Grew and Admiral William F. Halsey. They will raise $1,000,000 in capital to form the Liberia Co., jointly owned with the Liberian Government. This company, in turn, will form up to 20 different subsidiaries to develop Liberia's iron ore, cocoa, lumber and other resources.

Self-Help. One-fourth of the company's 1,000,000 shares of stock will be given outright to the Liberian Government; a tenth will go to endow the Liberian Educational Foundation. As each subsidiary develops, the foundation will set up an industrial training program within the new industry. As the foundation's income increases, it will finance the training of Liberians in U.S. medicine and technology and ultimately help create a University of Liberia.

Stettinius and several other sponsors of the Liberian venture are also associated with a little-known company, the World Commerce Corp., which has many similar world development schemes on its agenda. It has been quietly organizing since 1945. Like Stettinius Associates, the corporation has a paid-in capital of only $1,000,000. But it has unlimited capital resources among its potent U.S., British and Canadian backers.*

Like Stettinius Associates, World Commerce Corp. plans to provide capital equipment and technological know-how. It already has representatives in 47 countries and six partially owned subsidiaries in Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Panama and the Philippines. To overcome the world dollar shortage, it has set up a complex system of bartering currencies and goods. The corporation provided the dollars to buy raw materials from Sweden for a British manufacturer, took payment in British goods. It also started a $3,000,000 cement plant in Jamaica with capital in English sterling, machinery and supplies from Canada and the U.S.

Like Ed Stettinius, the other backers of World Commerce Corp. refuse to believe that when a country is without dollars it must cease trading.

Long before President Truman called for the export of U.S. know-how and capital to other nations of the world (in his famed Point Four), the same idea had occurred to a small, forward-looking group of U.S., British and Canadian capitalists. The group included ex-Secretary of State Edward R. Stettinius, onetime OSS Boss William J. Donovan and Britain's Sir William Samuel Stephenson, World War II boss of all British secret operations in the Western Hemisphere. At war's end, they and associates* formed the World Commerce Corp. and raised an initial $1,000,000 to help "bridge over the breakdown in foreign exchange." Their plan: to provide the tools, machinery and know-how to develop untapped resources. Last week, in Jamaica, World Commerce Corp. was in the midst of one of its biggest developments to date.

Badge of Shame. Jamaicans regard it as a badge of their island's industrial shame that cement must be imported from England. Rich in limestone and gypsum, Jamaica has no cement plant. Jamaica's governor, Sir John Huggins, turned for help to World Commerce Corp.'s Sir William Stephenson, who winters in Jamaica.

He could not have picked a better man. A colleague once described Canadian-born Sir William, now 53, as "quiet, unassuming, inconspicuous—perfect for his work as a spy because you never notice him." Sir William's World War II work was so secret that he will still not discuss it, before the war he was just as unobtrusive, and influential, in British high finance. Settling down in England after a World War I stint as an airman, he soon had a finger in radio, gramophones, aviation, steel, real estate and construction (he built London's huge sports arena, Earl's Court). Also, as a onetime director of Alpha Cement Ltd., he knew that business inside out.

Medal for Merit. Sir William agreed to take on the Jamaica cement project. With the same quiet dexterity that won him a wartime U.S. Medal for Merit, he quickly organized the Caribbean Cement Co. Ltd., with himself as chairman (Ed Stettinius joined in as a director). He got a 19-year monopoly on Jamaican cement, and a scale of guaranteed prices (30% below the delivered cost of British cement, but still enough to make a tidy $221,650 annual profit).

In return, the company agreed to build a $4,800,000 factory capable of producing 600,000 barrels of cement a year. To raise the capital, Sir William got the World Commerce Corp. to underwrite $1,400,000, had no trouble at all in selling $2,000,000 worth of stock to enthusiastic Jamaicans. Last week the new company, awaiting $1,000,000 worth of machinery from England, was already clearing its 72-acre site on Kingston Harbor.

...On May 17, 1945, Donovan became special assistant to justice Robert H. Jackson, U.S. prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials. Although the captured German leaders were accused of many things, they were never accused of having accepted money from the Bank of England, or of being financed by the Schroder Bank. Baron Kurt von Schroder had been arrested and transferred to a British detention camp. A German denazification court later fined him 1500 RM and sentenced him to three months detention. Since he had already been held for that period, he was released. The New York Times on Feb.29, 1948 demanded that he be tried by an Allied Military Tribunal – “von Schroder is as guilty as Hitler or Goering”.

In May 1945, William Stephenson formed the British American Canadian Corp. in New York, later changed to a Panamanian registry as the World Commerce Corp. April 2, 1947. When Germany surrendered, the London office of OSS had ten million dollars on hand, deposited in Hambro’s and Schroder’s Banks. This money could not be “returned” to the U.S. Government without stating where it had come from. As proceeds from dealings in gold and jewels, an inquiry could provoke a Congressional investigation. The principals decided to hold it in abeyance for future operations in the new corporations, whose officers were Stephenson, Donovan, Sir Charles Hambro, Edward R. Stettinius, Russell Forgan of Glore Forgan Co., nephew of James Forgan, first president of the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board, and successor to David Bruce as chief of OSS Europe; Sidney Weinberg, head of the Special OSS Mission to Moscow; Nelson Rockefeller; Col. Rex Benson Menzies of SIS and chairman of Robert Benson Co. merchant bankers; John J. McCloy; Richard Mellon; Sir Victor Sassoon; Lord Leathers; Sir William Rootes of Rootes Motors; Sir Alexander Korda; Olaf Hambro; Brig W.T. . Truman set up the Office of Policy Coordination in 1948, which by National Security Council directive 10/2 merged into the CIA Jan. 4, 1951 with the Office of Special and Clandestine Services. Although Truman had dissolved the OSS on Sept. 20, 1945, his 1948 directive appointed three men to supervise the organization of a new intelligence agency, Allen W. Dulles, of the Schroder Bank; William Harding Jackson, a Wall Street lawyer who married into the Lyman family, became a lawyer with Cadwalder, Wickersham and Taft, and later with Carter, Ledyard & Milburn (J.P. Morgan’s attorneys). In Jan. 1944, Jackson had been named head of intelligence at American Military Headquarters in London. He was chief of intelligence for Gen. Jacob Devers, and later headed G-2 intelligence for Gen. Omar Bradley. He Became a partner of J.H. Whitney Co. New York in 1947, served as deputy director of the CIA 1950-51, and later was spec. asst. to Pres. Eisenhower for national security; the third man on Truman’s team was Mathias F. Gorrea, also a Wall Street lawyer, whose mother was of the Figueroa family; his father was head of real estate and investments for the Brooklyn Diocese, and his brother was spec. asst. to the Atty Gen of the U.S. 1946, general counsel ODM 1951-52, and vice-pres. RCA. Truman later came to be deeply suspicious of the CIA. He told Merle Miller, “Plain Speaking”, “Now, as nearly as I can make out, those fellows in the CIA don’t just report on wars and the like, they go out and make their own.” Allen Dulles placed a verse from the Bible (John 8:32) in the entrance to the CIA building, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Allen W. Dulles was chief of the new agency; Frank Wisner was his deputy; it grew from 5000 to 15,000 personnel by 1955. In 1974, it had 16,500 agents and a $750 million budget; in all, the National Security Agency had $6 billion to spend for “intelligence”.

The CIA has often been called the Central Investment Agency, not only because of the Wall Street backgrounds of Donovan, Dulles and many other principals, but because of the many commercial operations in which it has engaged (the CIA is always referred to, not by accident, by its insiders, as “the company”). A great deal of stock trading is based upon inside CIA information, buying and selling on the basis of secret intelligence gathered by the CIA all over the world.

The CIA has also spent billions to influence foreign elections, always for candidates inimical to the interests of the people of the United States, but dedicated to the program of the World Order. However, its principal influence has been through its control of foundations and universities. The American people remain blissfully unaware that their Constitutional government with its separated powers of legislative, judicial and executive departments, has been entirely superseded by the foundations, which generate basic policy for all three branches. Monetary policy is generated by the Brookings Institution and implemented through the Federal Reserve System independent of Congress, which has constitutional power to regulate the monetary system. Social policies, originated by the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, are enacted into law by Congress and upheld against all challenges by the Supreme Court. Foreign policy, a prerogative of the executive branch, is entirely based on foundation “studies” and recommendations. Staffs of all three departments are heavily infiltrated by foundation operatives. The CIA functions as the coordinating agency between the foundations and the departments of government. The Washington Post of Dec. 8, 1984 verified this with an obituary of Don Harris, relating that he came to Washington in 1950 as an economist with the Brookings Institution, then moved to the CIA as chief of the Far East and the West Europe staffs for three years. He then joined the Defense Intelligence Agency’s directorate of plans and policy, where he served until 1983....

When Lee Oswald made plans to attend Albert Schweitzer College, the Warren Commission had access to a document which was entitled List of References, followed by a voluminous list of over 65, persons representing 20 different countries.

My own impression of Albert Schweitzer College was greatly influenced by George Michael Evica, who no doubt would have been interested in the Rev. Robert H. Schacht who, was listed in the above referenced document under the heading U.S.A.

Further research leads to a Unitarian Church and a fire which took place in 1966 which caused a great deal of damage.....

So the connection is found in the pages of the URL listed below, which states.......

George Michael was indeed extremely interested in Dr. Schacht and the First Unitarian Church in Providence, RI. I helped him get together with the good doctor's son, who proved to be a courteous and helpful source.

On a glorious July 4th weekend I escorted the Evicas, along with my uncle Arthur, on a tour of the East Side of Providence that included the church, an imposing edifice on Benefit Street.

From my Introduction to A Certain Arrogance:

"As he meticulously follows Oswald’s ASC paper trail, [Evica] is led not toward the Swiss campus, but rather into brick walls and empty rooms. A prime example: Oswald applied to the college on March 19, 1959. Less than two months later, when the chairman of ASC’s American Admissions Committee (and, at the time, the pastor of the First Unitarian Church of Providence, Rhode Island) submitted to Switzerland the applications and related materials of prospective American students, Oswald’s folder was included.

Today those documents – critically important evidence in the investigation of the crime of the 20th century – do not exist in any official repository. Yet copies, or perhaps even originals, were in the Providence ASC file seized by the FBI after the assassination. This troubling absence, within a broader context fully substantiated in A Certain Arrogance, inevitably leads the author to conclude that Oswald’s application to ASC is 'a still-protected American intelligence operation.'”

George Michael Evica spent an enormous amount of time and energy on C.D. Jackson. I have reviewed his Jackson research materials, which will be catalogued, along with the balance of his papers, over the next few months.

If you have ever seen some of my more obscure posts, you know that it's not like I've never perused Mae Brussell's Nazi Links to the JFK Assassination.

I would have liked to been there [schacht] if for no other reason than to be the proverbial fly on the wall.....There are two areas that I feel have been understudied in the assassination, one is the right wing extremists, domestically and the other is the international fascist network that existed at the time of the assassination. Sparked in part, by reading a memo from Hoover to Rankin after Dealey Plaza in which he stated that the FBI did not maintain files on right-wing groups in Texas in 1963.

I remember thinking, Jeez how did he get away with that one. Until I realized, everybody else got away with something too!

I was not privy to the Evica Schacht-the-younger exchanges.

But logic tells us this much: If Dr. Robert Schacht was part of the plot, there would have been no need to raid his Providence files to remove evidence that, as Evica noted, LHO's application to ASC is a "still-protected American intelligence operation."

George Michael was indeed extremely interested in Dr. Schacht and the First Unitarian Church in Providence, RI. I helped him get together with the good doctor's son, who proved to be a courteous and helpful source.

I can attest to George Michael's interest. In 2001 when I organized for John Bevalacqua to contact the son, I posted the results of John's discussion with him, along with most of my research pertaining to Hjalmar and Robert. I was soon contacted by George Michael and asked to cease looking into those areas as he himself was on the verge of uncovering a familial relationship between the two men. Obviously that didn't pan out, and was probably the sole disappointment I had with the book - though only because of the expectation built. It was in all respects, an outstanding work.

John btw, was also taken by the charm of Mr Schacht - in fact, I'm tempted to suggest, taken in by his charm .. but then, I was not there and any such suggestion may be unfair on both....

Similarly, the ascendancy of the 'Go South' Faction in Japan following the resounding defeat by the Soviets pre Op Barbarossa of the Go Northists, resulting (apparently with a little help from friends) in Pearl Harbour, and suddenly the Isolationist was out of the picture, (or were they?) with USofA youth volunteering in a flood.

Thus The Soviets, culminating with the Korean war, when 'Uncle Joe' was no longer an ally but forced into a stalemate through the unnecessary show of power in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. A typical pincer movement with reservists carrying it through.

Abroad, a teletype machine aboard a military aircraft carrying the Cabinet members to Japan began chattering the first report that shots had been fired, there was a moment of panic ,fearing an international plot, and with codes and procedures for such and emergency,Sec. of State Dean Rusk and Press Sec. Pierre Salinger attempted to contact the White House for verification..The did reach the Situation Room but were prohibited from authenticating the data because the "official code book was missing"..from it's special place aboard the plane.

After a futile search the Sec of State was forced to break procedures with coded communications ,Rusk was forced to break the code and communicate with the WH in plain English..

This was not happenstance that the President, the Vice President and six members of the Cabinet were away from the centre of power on Nov.22/63.It seems as though it was by design that Sec. of State Dean Rusk, Treasury Sec. Mr.Lodge was in Honolulu for a nine hour summit conference on Nam with Sec. of Defense Robert McNamara ,Sec of State Dean Rusk, financial aid chief David E.Bell ,Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Maxwell D.Taylor, Admiral Harry D.Felt, and General Paul D.Harkins, then the Commander of U.S.Forces in Vietnam..

This group of high level political and military policymakers had just decided to step-up military operations against communist insurgents in Nam.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive, and indeed the football and the missing radio codes cut right to the heart of the matter. The Valkyrie plot plan, as adapted for use against Castro, and used at Dealey Plaza, leads directly to a number of important items, including LeMay in the Chair at JCS, the DOD cooperation with CIA maritime raids against Cuba in fall of 1963, LeMay bringing in a communications specialist for Cuban ops, the read-only letter from Bundy to JCS via Gilpatrick regarding security on Cuban operations, NSAM on Four Leaves on military communications, the use of the special law on defense industry and changes in COG, which includes Silver Dollar and the football.

It started to get deep so I backed off and will review the whole story again with a clear head soon.

The Homer of the JFK case -- a/k/a Gerry Patrick Hemming -- told me that the gunman in the TSBD was a "Nazi Rat Line sniper" whose target was JBC, at whom he fired "on full automatic."

Why the governor? Hemming in heavy German accent: "'Because he didn't bid high enough.'"

Was the sniper concerned that researchers would discover his identity? GPH again: "'Just be sure zey shpell my name rrright!'"

Oft times, here on the Forum the response to a very revealing post such as the one Bill Kelly has made here, would be to supply supplemental documentation buttressing the facts and/or assertions contained therein. Many of the Califano papers are incredibly lengthy, and I am not as well versed as some are in that area.

So instead, I would like to take a moment to hopefully to do something just as important, which is to address the advocated, some might say "pablum for the masses" theories on the Castro did it wellwishers and the illogical or, downright ludicrous claims they espouse......

One claim is the allegation that Fabian Escalante was scurrying back to Cuba after coordinating the assasination of JFK in Dallas.....

Counterpoint: Does anyone really believe if that was true that, there would not be a counterintelligence operation that had been monitoring it from the beginning, or close to it, and that if you accept the aforementioned premise, that there would also not be any photographs and supporting factual documentation showing Escalante in the act of doing what it is claimed he was doing?

Instead, we are supposed to assume that yes "that is what happened," but the documentation is postponed in full in the archives, even though it is, in essence the linkage that would have given the causus belli for the invasion that subsequently, never happened.

To which my next response would be, not buying that either; for if such material did exist, the desired action of assassinating President Kennedy and eliminating Castro by a accompanying invasion would have the de facto Cuban involvement in the assassination, that in my view, has never existed!

Another claim centers on one Autillio Ramirez Ortiz.

In those pages you will discover that Ortiz is magically morphed from someone who hijacks a plane to Cuba and in the next paragraph is "given a job at a Cuban intelligence facility,"...I suppose my mental prowess isn't developed enough as Mr Russo's, to make a long story short yes, you guessed it Ortiz "discovers" the lauded "Osvaldo-Kennedy" file.......

Russo in the next paragraph goes on to tie John Martino to Ortiz, since Martino's source was "a Cuban named Ortiz."

You are right on the money, Robert. I never considered either Gus Russo or Lamar Waldron to be anything but totally clueless and completely careless on the JFK case, almost to the point that they should be considered deliberate disiniformation artists. The effect is the same, only their intent is to be questioned. Shute, they line up with such other Mind Control experts as Rev. Gerald L K Smith and Dr. Revilo P. Oliver who were paid to push the "Castro did it" and the "Khruschev did it" commie scapegoating B.S. No one fell for that line of garbage then and no one credible is falling for it now either. ...and so it goes.

In fact I was unable to take the time to go digging for any birth certificates either due to previous commitments. I think that if their was any familial relationship, George Michael Evica would have discovered it. He was only 65 miles away in Hartford. There are over 2,000 Schacht's in one 411 directory I queried in the U.S. alone. I do think that you are being unfair to both of us given the fact that we both were involved with our careers, our families and our research simultaneously. Reminds me of a professor from Berkeley who insisted that I must be a made Mafia member in order to ignore the Mafia evidence in the JFK case, since I live in the same State where some purported "Mob lawyers" reside with the same last name. Only problem is that their name is spelled with the letter "c" included as you wrote in your posting and our family has no letter "c" in the name. In fact, I am directly related to Klaus Schenck von Stauffenberg due to my Austro-Hungarian relatives and a link to the Uxkull branch I belive it was. Does that make me a Nazi? And if that is true, then why am I one of the few persons avidly pursuing the Nazi and neo-Nazi pro-Fascist links into the JFK hit? Makes no sense at all, does it? I have gone down a few dead-end leads as I am sure you have. Just accept the fact that we are all human and we all make mistakes and get over it. And apparently neither Robert Schacht or myself were born in Rhode Island either which throws all "guilt by dint of geographic and namesake association" arguments out the window. I would have expected more detailed analysis and discovery and forethought certainly from a Berkeley professor as well as from you. This professor actually still avoids and ignores me because he is so convinced that his brilliant analysis was right on the money and that I must indeed be some type of a mafia mobster. What a sad joke on him and what a sad commentary on his research skills and on his analytical abilities!
