Miguel Mariano Cruz

Recommended Posts

Miguel Mariano Cruz, 18 in 1963, was one of the Cubans arrested with Oswald in New Orleans for disturbing the peace.

Since he was so young at the time, he could be alive today.

At the time he lived at 2526 Mazant, Apt. C.

Is he in any of the photos?

Does anyone have any other information about him?

Thanks,

Bill Kelly

Here's a 17 year old kid, whose right in the thick of the whole New Orleans Cuban gumbo, is a friend of Bruinguier, is arrested with Oswald, and is probably still alive, yet we haven't heard a peep from him?

Bill,
Does anyone have any other information about him?

It's interesting. He had two brothers who were married to a woman named, "Olga".

Also mentioned in Carlos Bringuier's book, Red Friday (1969) pp. 26-28.

Celso, Cruz and Bringuier could not find the unknown "young American passing out pro-Communist literature" during their first search. Bringuier returned to the store "disappointed because we had not found the 'fidelista' when Miguel Cruz ran in to report that they had spotted the 'Communist' on Canal Street and that Celso was watching him in case he should move on to another location."

Cruz and Bringuier proceeded to Canal St, met Celso, confronted Oswald and were taken to the Police Station by Lt. Gaillot.

Thank you for that Peter, I'm glad somebody is paying attention. And I think there's a lot more in Bringuier's book Red Friday than meets the eye. He also has an interesting chronology and the names of those anti-Castro Cubans who were left ashore by the Rex and other CIA raiders.

Since Cruz was only a school kid at the time, there's a good probability he's still alive. And since Bringuier is still alive, he may not have to talk to Morley, but he would have to respond to a subpoena from Congress or a Grand Jury.

Bringuier also has another important piece of evidence that was not entered into the WC exhibits, and should have - Oswald's USMC handbook, which he tried to pawn off on the internet for six figures.

There's two living witnesses, Bringuier and Cruz who should be properly questioned.

Could that be the nearly 18-year-old Miguel Mariano Cruz following Carlos Bringuier out of the New Orleans court house at 3:43 of this Black Op Radio video?

I can only assume that the tall thin man with the moustache and sunglasses following right behind him is 47-year-old Celso Hernandez, as he was arrested along with Bringuier and Cruz on 8/09/63.

Dear Bill,

Could that be the (almost) 18-year-old Miguel Mariano Cruz following Carlos Bringuier out of the New Orleans court house at 3:37 of this Black Op Radio video? (Warning: He's visible for only a split second.) He is shown again at 3:43.

I can only assume that the short guy with the moustache following right behind him at 3:43 is 47-year-old Celso Hernandez Hernandes, as he was arrested along with Bringuier and Cruz an Oswald on 8/09/63.

Dear Bill,

In his notes in the Baylor Archives, John Armstrong has your Miguel Cruz as "FBI Informant T-2".

Note: Armstrong (carelessly, IMHO) lumps together the two filmed leafleting incidents (the 1st by 14 year-old Jim Doyle on 8/09/63, the 2nd by a New Orleans TV station on 8/16/63).

Armstrong claims that Lee Oswald and Celso Hernandez were arrested in late 1961, whereas Simpich, in his article about the twelve men that built the Oswald legend claims the arrest, presumably the same one referred to by Armstrong, occurred in late 1962. Obviously there is a huge difference.

Any pics of Celso Hernandez?

Simpich says there appears to be two with the same name, one of who was possibly a Castro agent, the other anti-Castro DRE.

Dear Paul,

The bottom part was copied and pasted here from Bill Kelly's "Miguel Mariano Cruz" thread. [And now back here, again.]

Now, if you read it carefully and follow the instructions I've provided in it, you'll see a short, mustachioed, light-colored suit wearing, middle-aged, Cuban-looking guy leaving the courthouse with Bringuer, and dark-suited, 17-year-old Cruz. Seeing as how Bringuier, Cruz, and Celso Hernandez were all arrested together on 8/09/63, it's reasonable to assume that they left the court house together, kinda hanging together like that for "moral support." Just a hunch, Paul, just a hunch. I believe I've read that the "Celso Hernandez" who was allegedly arrested 2 years earlier with "Oswald" was about 45 at the time. Going from memory here, Paul.

Found it. After the teenager there are two mustached men, short and tall. I can also see the powerful looking neck scratcher a bit later. Is his height consistent with Morales?

Really? You can? Where, exactly? (At what minute and second mark in the video?)

Thanks,

At 3:55-3:59

Dear Paul,

Isn't that the video's segment I've been pointing out regarding "Neck Scratcher" for a couple of years now?

-- Tommy :sun

PS We know that Morales was 5'10". Do you think "Neck Scratcher" is too tall to be Morales?
