Craig Lamson
Most local tv/cable stations will still have a beta machine... if finding one gets tough fwiw DJ Goes back way more years than I want to admit, but IIRC I could not playback Betamax cassettes on my Betacam SP player. I think you will find the Betacam machines in broadcast situations. Aside from the tape size and cassette format being the same, Betacam records different than an Betamax. David Healy should have the inside scoop here.
Guest Tom Scully
Such an important historic item, this compilation of clandestine government produced film segments! So important and valuable, yet it the filmed images are still "trapped" on a betamax video cassette, gone wanting for the lack of availability of an obsolete playback/format transfer device. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=betamax+vcr PT Barnum delighted in the fact that a sucker is born every minute. Paying money in advance in the hope of viewing this rare footage may buy you only hope.
