Now this turns up.  The first thing Jenner says is "this is a continuation...of Mrs. Paine's testimony...we had concluded late in the day yesterday".  This was on Saturday the 21st.  So she testified on Friday the 20th too?

https://www.jfk-assassination.com/warren/wch/vol9/page331.php

Yes, she did, and IT was a resumption of testimony on the day before that per Senator Cooper's opening statement!

http://www.history-matters.com/archive/jfk/wc/wcvols/wh3/pdf/WH3_RuthPaine_2nd.pdf

Naturally the testimony of Thursday 3/19/64 starts with "Testimony of Ruth Paine Hyde RESUMED" at 9:05, they recessed at 12:45 that day.  Friday's 91 single spaced pages are quite tedious, covering the whole day.  Repetitious too.  The curtain rods are curved on the end?  Yes, they curve around to where they connect to the bracket mounted on the wall.  Later,  We did determine that the curtain rods are curved on the ends?  Yes.  How long are they?  Condensed 36'', expanded... Thursday was only 42 single spaced pages.

Apparently they did come back Thursday afternoon.  Look at the part before the start of Fridays testimony.  "Whereupon at 5:30 PM the President's Commission recessed."  I've not found anything on the Thursday afternoon or Wednesday the 18th testimony.

If 3/19 begins with testimony of Ruth Hyde Paine Resumed, and its at 9:05, then there must have been something on the day before right?

Or did they begin with off the record matters? If so, that is really unusual.

The first thread I posted on in the forum, Where's Ruth's Couch by Chris Newton contained a link that led to this picture I'd never seen.

http://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=10897#relPageId=11&tab=page

I got excited when I saw two, two drawer file cabinets in the lower right part of the picture.  I thought are these the file cabinets I've read somewhere about a Dallas cop taking files from about pro Castro supporters?  Files that had disappeared?  Those in the picture were too big for Oswald to be toting around from Fort worth to Dallas to New Orleans, and Ruth back to Dallas since he came back from Russia.  No, those are not the files I'd read of, somewhere, sometime.  Dallas County Deputy Sherriff Buddy Walthers confiscated those on 11/22/63 and turned them over to Captain Will Fritz at the Dallas Police Department.  I've been looking and found nothing about them ever being seen since.  In his Warren Hearing testimony Walthers describes them as "little metal file cabinets...they would carry an 8 by 10 (11 1/2?) folder...but with a single handle on top of it".  ...

Ron,

The logical solution to Dallas Deputy Sheriff Buddy Walther's unconfirmed claim to have seen "six or seven metal filing cabinets full of the names of Castro supporters" in Ruth Paine's garage is that Buddy Walther's was exaggerating a different fact.

What Buddy Walthers actually saw, IMHO, was something that was confirmed, and was photographed.   I attach the list of property taken from Ruth Paine's garage in connection with the JFK assassination.  This from WC volume 21, p. 596.  The items in question are highlighted in red:

1 Yellow box of Kodaslide single.

1 Blue check telephone index book (addresses)
    1 Bracket (Instruction for mounting)
  • 1 Book white paper back (Russian)
  • 1 Roll Kodak film
  • 1 Kodak Kodachrome film
  • 1 Kodak Kodachrome film
  • 1 View master reel (Glacier National Park)
  • 1 View master reel (National Park Alaska)
  • 1 Russian newspaper
    63 Kodachrome transparency slides
  • 1 picture from catalog of womens clothing
  • 1 letter addressed to Mrs. Marina Oswald from Russia
  • 1 Envelope to Marina Oswald from Ruth Paine postmarked Jul. 22, 1963
  • 1 letter addressed to Marina Oswald from Fairhope, Ala.

Why would Buddy Walthers wish to exaggerate the case against Michael and Ruth Paine?   IMHO, Walthers was a sympathizer for Dallas Radical Right politicians, and was part of the plot to frame Lee Harvey Oswald (and by proxy, the Paines) for the JFK assassination.

The fact that nobody, but nobody was ever able to confirm Buddy Walther's claims -- not even the Dallas Police -- should set off bells ringing in everybody's heads.  This was Buddy Walther's biased imagination at work.

Buddy Walthers

"Upon searching this house we found stacks of hand bills concerning "Cuba for Freedom" advertising, seeking publicity and support for Cuba. Also found was a set of metal file cabinets containing records that appeared to be names and activities of Cuban sympathizers. All of this evidence was confiscated and turned over to Captain Fritz of the Dallas Police Department and Secret Service Officers at the City Hall."

"Mr. WALTHERS. You could tell it from the way it was tied and the impression of where that barrel went up in it where it was tied, that a rifle had been tied in it, but what kind---you couldn't tell, but you could tell a rifle had been wrapped up in it, and then we found some little metal file cabinets---I don't know what kind you would call them---they would carry an 8 by 10 folder, all right, but with a single handle on top of it and the handle moves.
Mr. LIEBELER. About how many of them would you think there were?
Mr. WALTHERS. There were six or seven, I believe, and I put them all in the trunk of my car and we also found a box of pictures, a bunch of pictures that we taken.

 "Some imagination."

Nice one Ray.

It appears to most normal thinking people that either the WC or the FBI fiddled with the evidence here.  As I have noted before from Greg Parker's forum, they reduced the number of files, and they stripped out the contents.

In my view, anybody who accuses the Paines of the JFK assassination is playing into the hands of the same Dallas Radical Right who sought to blame the Communists (via Lee Harvey Oswald) for the JFK shooting.

Buddy Walthers was accusing the Paines of being Communists from the East Coast.  That's the subtext.

The Dallas Radical Right tried their best to frame the Paines as Communists -- and Buddy Walthers was one spoke in that wheel, just as whoever wire-tapped the Paines' telephone was another spoke in that wheel.

The John Birch Society mentality still survives in CT literature, but instead of the right-wing pushing it, now its the left-wing, paradoxically.  Well, lots of JBS ideology is today pushed by the Left -- including their slogans about the East Coast Establishment, and their envy of the rich.

Buddy Walthers is guilty as sin.  One only need to read his WC testimony with a critical eye to see what I mean.

I've found nothing on 3/18/64.  E. G. If you scroll all the way down, in spite of the title, it ends with the resumption of the afternoon session, with Ruth after Michael in the morning then nothing, literally, end.

Ruth Paines’s testimony begins in Vol. II right after Michael’s testimony.

The first two sessions are here:

https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=38

They continue into Vol. III (2 more sessions):

https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=39

In Vol. IX the first session is in DC.

The following 2 sessions are in Irving, TX (broken up by the short swearing in of SS Agent Howlett)

https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=43

In Vol XI RP executed an affidavit providing clarity on a few matters:

That’s all that I’m aware of from the WC

Chris, so this link is incorrect?

Ruth testified Wednesday afternoon 3/18, Thursday 3/19 and Friday 3/20 in Washington, but Not on Saturday 3/21?  The next testimony was Monday evening 3/23 in Irving?

I want a set of clean RP testimony as well. For the record, one of my Mcadams PDF's has this intro:

"The testimony of Ruth Hyde Paine was taken at 9615 a.m., on March 21, 1964, at 200 Maryland Avenue NE., Washington, D.C., by Messrs. Albert E. Jenner, Jr., and Norman Redlich, assistant counsels of the President's Commission. "

Ron, That is the first Ruth Paine session in Vol. IX.

A very "clean" copy direct from the original WC volumes is here on this link (that I had provided above):

I have  to admit that I meant clean and "free".

I guess it's time to fork out some dough to the MFF, :)
