Jeff Carter
More on this appears on Bill Kelly's blog. Essentially the controversy involves recent commentary by Sabato and Shenon published in Politico and The Washington Post, where they claim “21st century forensic science demonstrates that Oswald was almost certainly the lone gunman in Dallas.” No such forensic science exists, as Dr Wecht correctly observes. Hopefully he and CAPA can press this point to force some kind of retraction.
Pat Speer
This idea that cutting-edge forensic science has supported or even proved the lone gunman theory has been pushed since the HSCA bought into Guinn's NAA nonsense. It was caca then and it's caca now.

It was caca then and it's caca now. The bullet holes in JFK's clothes are too low to have been associated with either his throat wound or the hairline fracture of the right T1 transverse process. That SHOULD end the phony debate but unfortunately Dr. Wecht and CAPA lack the competence to press that physical fact. The only "blistering debate" is the phony one so many "CTs" insist on waging by denying JFK's T3 back wound, choosing to cite inferior evidence like the acoustics instead. By denying the T3 back wound Wecht & Co are just as much a part of the cover-up as Shenon and Sabato. Cliff Varnell
Wecht — a former county coroner for 20 years based in Pittsburgh and a forensics expert who has studied the JFK death for five decades — repeatedly requested without success last month that Sabato (shown in a file photo below at left) cite his evidence for claiming in a Politico column co-authored with Shenon that “21st century forensic science demonstrates that Oswald was almost certainly the lone gunman in Dallas.” If someone claims that 1 + 1 = 23 do we ask them for proof? We ask them for their evidence? Wecht's response is weak beyond belief.
Cliff Varnell
Our two columns thus focus narrowly on scientific and related media aspects of the current controversy. Why? The case for conspiracy is prima facie. Attention Bill Kelly: glance down upon your shirt on top of your right shoulder -- then casually raise your right arm and wave your hand -- observe the fabric of your shirt INDENT. Congratulations! You've just verified the weaponized fact of conspiracy in the murder of JFK: at 4 inches below the bottom of the collars, the bullet holes JFK's shirt and jacket are too low to have been associated with his throat wound. The weaponized fact ofJFK conspiracy is pointed at all T3-back-wound deniers, whether it's Wecht and Speer, or Shenon and Sabato.
