Pretty sure you don't want me to SHOULD all over you and an ongoing behavior which betrays an ongoing agenda which remains impossible for you to control....

The only truly off the wall, unsupported drek ever peddled with seriousness remains your thinly disguised attempt at forum ridicule with that pet theory in search of support....

It takes special members to ridicule the work of others while contributing so little to furthering the cause.... Or, if having contributed in the past, how little respect is offered as opposed to how so very much is expected.

:up

David,

You should realize that I only post things here that have been given to me by my Deep State Controllers.

"Say, what's this electrode at the back of my head?  I've never noticed it before!  And why does it get warm and start vibrating only when I sign into the JFK Assassination Debate forum?

Hmmm.

Wait!  I think I'm getting a new secret message from Headquarters! ..."

Sandy,

How did they so accurately choose two boys whom they just kinda hoped would grow up looking alike?

Was it Dr. Strangelove-like double sperm deal that worked out better than they could have ever hoped for?

Or what?

Your assumptions are inaccurate as usual.  It resembles a Straw Man argument/tactic...  At least that's what I've heard...

You start from your own misguided opinions about plans to which no one is privy.....

And proceed to insert feet in mouth with childish glee...

As to the words of wit and sarcasm sent in my direction....  You so funny... :zzz

Post something serious occasionally ....so we know the difference...   :up

Tommy,

First, I don't believe the two looked as much alike as you do. But if the CIA wanted the two to look alike as adults, obviously the best way of accomplishing that would be to pick two similar looking youths.

Sandy,

How much alike do you think they looked?  Just enough to fool people who had encountered "Lee" before the assassination into believing, after the assassination, that they'd encountered "Harvey"?

Honest question: Did anyone encounter both of them (probably not together, of course)?

Here is my guess, based on Oswald photos and various accounts I've read:

If a person saw Harvey one day and Lee the next, the person wouldn't recognize them as the same. But if the person were told it was the same guy both times, the person would believe it... though possibly with some hesitation depending upon how observant the person had been.

James, you got me here with this Sidd Finch story.

Was it all a fake story? If not, what ever happened to the fellow and the Mets?

What possible useful purpose does this tongue-in-cheek thread serve? All it does is provide a platform for the Fetzer and White haters. So why was this topic created in the first place? It certainly does nothing to improve the forum's "tone", which is something James R. Gordon wants to see improved, otherwise this forum might go down the drain completely due to a lack of funding in the near future. And this type of wholly unnecessary backhanded swipe at James Fetzer and Jack White (even though I don't agree with their theories either) is just the kind of intentionally antagonistic thread that we shouldn't be seeing at this forum at this particular time (given the posts that have been made in recent weeks by Mr. Gordon, who is deeply concerned about "the future of the forum").

Just my $0.02.

Agreed. Jack White is dead. Fetter is no longer here to defend himself. I am kind of surprised at Len's having taken such latitude in posting this. I am particularly irritated that he has caused me to find myself in agreement with DVP. :P

I concur.

Agreed. What's the point ? To kill the forum entirely ?

Well Joe, the story was published April FIRST 1985.  Plimpton was a comedic fiction writer...

One thing you can say about those heady days of the 1950s through the 1970s is that, while the CIA was torturing and murdering the literati of South America and elsewhere, it was studiously exporting our literary product and supporting our writers and editors.  And that's a better shake than Americans get nowadays.  Hats off to our book-readin' CIA of old.
