In looking for something else, I ran across an interesting site:

History of Dallas-Fort Worth AM Radio Stations

http://www.dfwretroplex.com/amlist.html

KLIF, Dallas. Station named for its original location in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. McLendon sold KLIF and his other Texas AM stations to keep them away from his wife during divorce proceedings.

WFAA – Acronym for “Working For All Alike”

Started as a 9X9 foot tent on the roof of the Dallas Morning News building.

KCNC, Fort Worth

Willie Nelson (later a C&W singer, of course! Willie's opening line on his first day was, "This is your ol' cotton pickin', snuff dippin', tobacco chewin', coffee pot dodgin', dumplin' eatin', frog giggin' hillbilly from Hill Country!"
