The inevitable end result of our last 56 years

From the article: Every American should be horrified by this latest report from the ICIJ; every American should be outraged that the U.S. is now second only to the Cayman Islands for hiding dirty money for criminals; every American should demand that the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal give this story the front page coverage it deserves; and every American should look at this upcoming presidential election as the defining moment in whether the United States can be saved or will join a sad, tragic list of failed democracies.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents tasked by fired former Director James Comey to take down Donald Trump during and after the 2016 election were so concerned about the agency’s potentially illegal behavior that they purchased liability insurance to protect themselves less than two weeks before Trump was inaugurated president, previously hidden FBI text messages show. The explosive new communications and internal FBI notes were disclosed in federal court filings today from Sidney Powell, the attorney who heads Michael Flynn’s legal defense team.

Emphasis added.

James Comey tried to destroy Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign by re-opening the Clinton e-mail matter 11 days before the election, turning 3 cable news channels into a non-stop Hillary Bash?

‘Trump Was Right’: Explosive New FBI Texts Detail Internal Furor Over Handling Of ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ Investigation

The explosive new communications and internal FBI notes were disclosed in federal court filings today from Sidney Powell, the attorney who heads Michael Flynn’s legal defense team.

“[W]e all went and purchased professional liability insurance,” one agent texted on Jan. 10, 2017, the same day CNN leaked details that then-President-elect Trump had been briefed by Comey about the bogus Christopher Steele dossier. That briefing of Trump was used as a pretext to legitimize the debunked dossier, which was funded by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign and compiled by a foreign intelligence officer who was working for a sanctioned Russian oligarch. From the Federalist More...

Aren't they doing a two part mini series about Comey's book?

You want someone to explain Donald Trump? Good luck.

Ron,

After I had posted this, my wife explained to me that wearing a mask was conditional for Trump entering the Supreme Court building. He had been told that he wouldn't be allowed to come in without one.

I've watched this clip several times. The TV and print commentators said that Trump was booed when he came out at the head of those stairs.

I didn't hear boos. I heard a collective howl of pain and anguish. I've never heard anything like it. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

The sound that you heard was the sound of human beings with a conscience, realizing that its the future of our republic lying in that flag draped casket.

Who can forget the Trumps attending the World Series and when their names were announced and their faces shown on the stadium Jumbotron, thousands erupted into loud boos and a collective "LOCK HIM UP, LOCK HIM UP!"

Never before has a President been so mass booed at a major sport event like that.

It was so bad, the main stream media turned down the actual loudness of the booing and shouting and got it off the main page in one day.

It was so bad with thousands breaking out in angry shouting and booing it was embarrassing. This is what Trump receives when he is facing real non-screened rally Americans.

Even Morning Joe Scarborough tried to defend Trump regards this humiliating reception. Scarborough said these people should have shown more respect! This was our President good or bad. HA!

And guess what Trump rewards Scarborough with later on for Scarborough's defense? He retweets news reports of a young aide of Scarborough's suspicious death when he was a Congressman and inferred Scarborough had something to do with her death!

Joe....hope this backstabbing of you shook you out of your Trump defense oddity.

The Comey Rule, new Showtime docudrama on Comey and Trump, premieres Sunday.

I can't judge everything from a trailer, but Brendan Gleeson looks and sounds great as Trumpfinger:

Greg Olear's take on the show.  I hope it's not quite as Shakespearean as he paints it.  Because Trump's more Jack Cade than King Lear.

Bond: I couldn't help noticing that you defecated in your trousers on the last hole, Goldfinger.  I was under the impression that you only use a golden toilet for such occasions.

Goldfinger: My golf habits are none of your business, Mr. Bond.  In a moment, Odd Job will show you how he decapitates statues and trouble makers by throwing his hat like a Frisbee.

I guess that's why Goldfinger wears the plus fours, so it all collects at the knee.
