The inevitable end result of our last 56 years

You guys are making a bigger deal out of "wires" and ear pieces than it deserves.

It's a given he needs help at this point.

It would be impossible to hide from the Trump team. (We are just looking at video clips and photo stills. I'm sure the Trump campaign could get a closer look at Biden's "ear hole.")

  • Team Trump insisted on an electronic device "inspection" before the debate.
  • Team Biden said "no."
  • Team Trump agreed to allow Biden to wear his "hearing aid" for the debate on the condition that Biden agree to a second debate.
  • Unless Biden is replaced, we'll have a 2nd debate.

All of this "wire" talk and drug-testing is just a bunch of "horse trading" and gamesmanship.

Out of all the possible Democratic Candidates, from the official primary runners to a few of the Covid State governors (Cuomo, Newsom, Murphy) to maybe even Michelle Obama or some other surprise choice, isn't Biden the best possible candidate from Trump's perspective?

Ex-Bernie, Biden is the only one older than the 74 year old Trump.

Buttigieg, or Warren, or Newsom wouldn't come across as more fresh and coherent than Biden, or Trump for that matter, during a Televised debate?

Biden is Trump's dream candidate.

Biden can wear an ear piece or contact lenses that are also a video screen (I don't necessarily believe the contact lenses, but some people says the technology exists), just as long he stays in the race.

From a pure, "appears coherent" perspective, Warren beats Biden any day of the week, no matter how many gizmos Biden is hooked up to.

Warren strikes fear into billionaires like Bloomberg because she knows exactly what levers to pull to make them pay. That's why he decided to run. Not out of the goodness of his heart to stop Trump. But to stop Warren, who he called "scary" because she knows how to get it done.

Michael Bloomberg called Goldman Sachs bankers his ‘peeps’ and promised to defend them, leaked tape reveals.

Trump interrupted Biden 145 times Tuesday night.

Cliff: I agree about not packing the court to 13. I'm joking and providing a historical perspective on fair jurisprudence.

As for Mark's inquiry about Biden. I think Trump's strategy was no less than to continually interrupt Biden at the beginning of what he was saying and make Biden stutter and then point to Biden and say "look at old Joe stuttering". It was really as simple and cruel as that.

I really question the value of  Biden getting coaching through an earpiece for example. Any more stimuli than Biden just hunkering down and starting and finishing what he had to say would be just too confusing for Biden. I'm not sure what other reasons there would be, would that be an aid for Biden's health?  As for the reaction to the inquiry, I don't think anybody's being unfair. They are going with what they think is the most obvious conclusions and assumptions And it is  up to Mark to prove otherwise.

Wheeler has always been quick to level the charge on other's here calling him a racist. I've seen little evidence of that. I do think Wheeler has been careful to not appear racist, but I've noticed he is a quite a homophobe and takes every opportunity  to let us know when some member of his opposition is gay.

As far as Byrd goes, people can change over the course of their lives. He could have defected to the Republicans during Nixon's southern sweep in 1968, but he didn't. He saw the writing on the wall. People should be encouraged to change for the better.

*******Ok, Bill Maher's gloating, but he's earned the right to.

Odds now show Biden overwhelming likely to win election

Sounds promising for the Democrats but my concerned thoughts are ...  watch out!

Trump and his Corporate / Banker / 1% base are the most "super aggressive" power group we have ever seen in American federal government political history.

In Trump's 4 year term, he and they have bulldozed over Congress and the rules of Constitutional law so belligerently and blatantly as if they don't even exist.

And they are more emboldened than ever by their success.

Based on this reality it seems more than likely this drunk with success bully power group would create a nation shocking and frightening "October Surprise" event beyond anything we have ever seen before or could even contemplate.

They are that provenly brazen and bold.

This isn't baseless Trump fear or hating hyperbole.

We have all now seen with our own eyes Trump go to unprecedented extremes in his abuse of the balance of power framework, and time and time again get away with it.

Just the appointment of one of his most extreme right wing / 1% authoritarian philosophy sycophants, mega-donor Louis DeJoy, to head the Postal Service is just another example of a political power grab that is outrageously unethical and potentially very dangerous to the voting process this election.

The head of the postal service has the power to stress or change the entire mechanism of mail processing which opens the door to the invalidation of millions of mail-in ballots.

Here again is another clear and perfect example of Trump bulldozing through an outrageously self-serving political power grab, right in front of the entire nation's eyes and right over an emasculated Congress.

Control the postal service and you can quite possibly control the mail-in vote.

Heck, this power grab alone may negate the need for a Trump 1% October surprise.

Yet, with the super aggressive, power drunk Trump who loves to exercise this power and obsessively increase his own wealth..."It's never enough."

As Trump's niece Mary proclaimed in the title of her book about him..."TOO MUCH AND NEVER ENOUGH."

Who else's interests does Trump promote and enhance more or even close to than the 1%?

Warren Buffet himself stated publicly that his personal wealth increased 23 BILLION dollars the day Trump's tax bill took effect.

There isn't a Republican political party anymore.

It has been highjacked. It is now the 1% party.

One could also call this the "Billionaire Party."

Your "Proud Boys" focus is another wishful dog whistle.

Any assemblage of more than five white guys with similar interests is going to be deemed "racist." The relationship between the five guys could be anything.

  • Fraternities have been Racist since Animal House came out.
  • Spike Lee insinuated the 1980s Boston Celtics were Racist.
  • The swimming team at Dartmouth was defunded this past July because of a lack of diversity on the men's roster.

I have personal knowledge of the Dartmouth situation and can tell you that's the real reason, whatever official explanation was given.

If you put five or more White guys in the same room, and hang a sign on the door that implies an affiliation, "Glee Club", somebody is going assume that they are all thinking similar Racist thoughts.

I can see how the "Proud Boys" would trigger the Social Justice Warrior brigades, including this threads participants. You are all perpetually offended.

I never bothered to see what the Proud Boys were supposed to be until this morning. They seem like regular guys to me. They are pushing back against Political Correctness the idea that masculinity is inherently racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.

I'm sure there are racists, sexists and homophobes in their ranks. Just like the racist Biden supporters that;

  • call Black Republican's "Uncle Toms",
  • accuse Women Trump voters of undermining feminism;
  • insist homosexual Trump supporters suffer from mental health issues.

Here are the crazy "tenets" of the Proud Boys. (linked)

  • Minimal Government
  • Maximum Freedom
  • Anti-Political Correctness
  • Anti-Drug War
  • Closed Borders
  • Anti-Racial Guilt
  • Anti-Racism
  • Pro-Free Speech (1st Amendment)
  • Pro-Gun Rights (2nd Amendment)
  • Glorifying the Entrepreneur
  • Venerating the Housewife
  • Reinstating a Spirit of Western Chauvinism

The left is always going to try to demonize any group that does not agree with them. They are used to most supporters of one or more of the bullet points above of succumbing to accusations of racism, homophobia, sexism, and not speaking up.

It is why we have so many instances of Political Correctness run-amuck, many of which even the "traditionally liberal" here see a problem with (I will post links to some of your issues with the PC crowd if I see the need too.)

If the Proud Boys bullet points above is just a cover for an inherently racist ideology, then wouldn't keeping the Drug War going keep more Black Men in jail for selling $50 bags of weed.

Isn't that what Biden endorsed as Senator, Clinton Signed off on, and Obama did nothing to rectify in the eight years he had a chance to do something.

I am not a member of the Proud Boys or any other Political or Advocacy Group, except for being a registered Republican.

In 2018, Gavin McInnes,  the founder of the Proud Boys, began a speech to the New York Metropolitan Republican Club by staging a reenactment of the assassination of Inejiro Asanuma, the leader of the Japanese Socialist Party. Wearing glasses with caricatured Asian eyes drawn on them, McInnes played the role of Asanuma's assassin,  an ultranationalist, far right extremist named Otoya Yamaguchi. McInnes ended his play on a serious note, saying "Never let evil take root.”

The Proud Boys also proudly wear a t-shirt that bears the slogan “Pinochet did nothing wrong!”

It makes me wonder about what Trump is asking the Proud Boys to "...stand by..." for.

Here's a sick weird contradiction mix truth about Trump's supporters - his base.

Law enforcement and ... outlaw biker gangs?

Billionaires and ... rural area food stamp, government subsidized medical care and welfare accepting trailer trash?

Christian Evangelicals and ...  godless corrupt serial 10 commandment violating groups and individuals like Jerry Falwell Jr., Ghislane Maxwell, Roger Stone, Putin, etc.?

Catholics and ... anti-semitic, white supremacy Nazi groups?

It's just nuts.

Going back and viewing other presidential debates, I compared these to Trump's manic bullying interrupting ( 145 times ) over-talking, personal insult attacking ( you're not smart ) and debate rule and moderator abusing performance Tuesday evening.

Nixon/Kennedy, Ford/Carter, Bush/Dukakis, Reagan/Mondale, Bush/Clinton/ Perot.

OMG!

Junior High School election debates are more mature and respectful than this debate!

Trump has lowered the bar to drunken saloon or football stadium crazies fight level.

Then show me.

Their might be instances where I agree with them.

You know the 2nd Amendment is not for shooting at ducks, don't you?

Funny you should mention that; the original intent was for shooting at black people.

You seem fairly knowledgeable of them and quicker to defend.

Since you have so much information on the "Proud Boys," can you share how many black or other minorities are a member? I'm guessing due to the name there aren't any women, so I won't ask that. How about gays, any gay "Proud Boys?"

If they don't espouse the values most believe they do, then surely there have to be some people who are gay, female, or some other color than white amongst their membership...right?

Indeed, if I understand it correctly, the "well ordered militias" mentioned in the Second Amendment were slave patrols in the Southern colonies.
