John Dolva
Interesting Article (edit : Memorandum) in 1957 he (Guy) lost his job as Assistant Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department when, while drinking, he pulled a gun on a waiter in a French Quarter bar. He's otherwise described as deputy superintendent. I dont know if there is any sort of distinction. But no matter, he was tied in with law enforcement. presumably he had many contacts. this looks like it might provide info on who he might have been in contact with during his years with the NOPD : http://nutrias.org/~nopl/monthly/dec2001/dec2001.htm 'Not only was Henry Morris a "cop's cop" (in the words of another former NOPD superintendent, Joseph I. Giarrusso, Jr.) and a proud veteran of World War II, he was also a historian, serving as president of the Louisiana Historical Association during 1981-1982. His interest in the history of the NOPD led him to make sure that important police department records were transferred to the City Archives here at the New Orleans Public Library. Many of those records are described elsewhere on this web site (see the descriptions HERE). After his retirement in 1985 Chief Morris donated a large collection of photographs to the Archives. Included are crime scene photographs, photos of ceremonial events attended by Morris, along with some personal photographs, including pictures from some of his vacations. We've only just begun, with the assistance of Mrs. Madeline Morris, to arrange and identify the Henry Morris Photograph Collection. The twelve images presented below serve as nothing more than an introduction to this important body of photographs. Click on the images below to see a larger version and accompanying text. And click HERE to visit previous Images of the Month.' John Edited July 8, 2005 by John Dolva
Thomas H. Purvis
Gary; The "Head Investigator" for the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission was a former FBI Agent. From a large Mississippi family of deep "Southern Roots". J. Edgar Hoover personally secured positions for those agents who displayed full loyalty to "him".............
