Does anyone know if George Perrel; real name Fermin DeGoicoechea is still alive?

Fermin is quite the interesting character. Bay of Pigs veteran and a prominent part of the DRE militant component. Fermin was tasked with securing weapons for the so-called Second Invasion of Cuba. He did this through J.T. Masen whose source in turn was George Nonte at Fort Hood.

Fermin also attended the University of Dallas at the time Sarita Odio was there.

Fermin was not a happy camper when it came to discussing the Kennedy administration and his perception of their failures during the Bay of Pigs invasion. In fact he was very bitter.

Any information on Fermin would be appreciated.

He seemed to live up to 1975 in or around Dallas. Below divorce record of Dallas- County, Fermin age 34 wife's name Bobbie, age 29 with one child under 18 years.

Assuming that DeGiocoechea Fermin is quite an uncommon name, here is another info, not sure

of its value and maybe just coincidence.

The Caldwell County district courts handed down sentences to 11 felony offenders last week, three of whom will be spending time in Texas Department of Corrections facilities.

The sentences include:

Fermin De Goicoechea plead true to violating probation on an Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle charge and was sentenced to one year in a State Jail Facility.

James, all I can find is a Fermin M. Degoicoechea of Austin, Texas, aged 40. May be a son of 'George Perrel'

Fermin would be 64 today. He does appear to have dropped off the map.

The link George posted doesn't give an age so it may well be his son. The 40 year old Fermin from Austin Roy cited sounds like the son as well.

An Update:

I just received an email from Manuel Balbona who was Fermin DeGoicoechea's brother-in-law. He said that Fermin died two months ago in Miami. He did not offer any other details.

Just to add a curious aside here:

On the day Dallas stripper Karen Lynn Bennett aka Little Lynn was to appear to give testimony at Jack Ruby's trial, she found herself mixed up in a melee when 7 men broke out of the county jail just as she was entering the building.

One of the escapees was named Randolph Hudnall; he was a soldier based at Fort Hood. He served under Capt. Nonte who was the one supplying weapons to John Thomas Masen, many of which found their way into the hands of local DRE members.

In October of 1963, Hudnall had allegedly robbed a drive-in grocery at 1810 W. Jefferson while on leave in Dallas (the concept of 'going in dirty' has been suggested here). Hudnall was eventually recaptured by the FBI in California. His connections there are most interesting but I am not able to support that particular information at the moment.
