My name is Richard Wells and I live in Kent, England with my wife and daughter. At my private boarding school I was lucky enough to have a brilliant teacher, an avowed Marxist (how he got the job I don't know), but he gave me not only a love for history (which I studied at "S" level) but an ability to see both sides of every "truth", from the privileged to the oppressed.
I've been politically conscious from my first Aldermarston march in 1962 to the more recent Stop the War rallies in London. I've spent much time in community activities and believe "it is better to light one candle than curse the darkness" - so you can see I've ended up as a woolly liberal!
