Is this symptomatic of a falling off of interest?  I don't think so, but we have gone through Covid lockdown and now a looming energy crisis pushing up costs of almost everything, so finances are tight.  Over the last few years we have lost some giants in the research community through age/infirmity and retirements.  Our founder Ian Griggs and Mathew Smith sadly passed, Malcolm Blunt has taken a well-deserved 'backseat'.  Barry Keane has moved out into the wilds of Cymru and infirmity has caught up with regular presenters Alaric Rosman and Bill Beadle.  I think things are a serious reflection of our aging membership.  Nobody is getting any younger, I'm hitting 70 in some months' time.

I think it has been discussed on this Forum just what the JFK case means, if anything, to younger generations.  Will the group slowly become extinct?  Who knows.  There are societies that still study and discuss the psyche of Richard III and probe the sad demise of the princes in the tower in 1483.

Yes, 2023 the sixtieth anniversary may regenerate interest and new research.  Chris, it would be great to meet you once again in Canterbury next year.

"brain cramps" indeed. The Warren Commission was not immune, or maybe it had already decided "for the good of the country" what the result should be!

Oswald's taxi got stuck in traffic, so he took the bus to his rooming house!! Keep on researching people, make him change his mind.

The perpetrators got away with it. No one was successfully prosecuted for his murder. The coup was achieved. But history will be the judge, there is no escape. Those who care must make sure history wins. If we fail in this endeavour, we only have ourselves to blame!

It does not matter one iota that the Zapruder was altered or not( which I don't believe it was) It still shows the limo stopping and the head shot! Move on ask the real question, why was JFK killed. The shooters are irrelevant, why, why why was he killed not how?

I agree. But if it was indeed altered, it didn't achieve it's intention. So it was a waste of time and effort.

When did the alteration take place?

I don't "know" what happened in Dealey Plaza, but I do believe there was a conspiracy. As far as film alteration, how did the conspirators know the Zapruder film needed altering? When was this done? What about all the other films and photos taken in Dealey Plaza, were they also altered? If the purpose of altering the Zapruder film was to disguise evidence of multiple shooters, it failed.

Oh really! Enormous presumption. Even if the film did not exist, there is enough evidence to suggest a conspiracy. The public did care and still does. The cover up succeeded in protecting the guilty from justice,  but not from the judgement of history.

Because of the head snap any alteration of the film is negated. So why go to great lengths to hide the reality of the film if the back and to the left movement is retained? If conspirators had the power and sophistication to alter the film why not just make it disappear?

In late November 1963 in Dallas Texas a tragedy occurred. A man was shot in front of his protectors. He later was pronounced dead in Parkland Hospital. This terrible event not only cost the life of a human being but dealt a savage blow to truth. Because of this murder faith in our leaders has been severely shaken. His death spawned a mystery which has still not been satisfactorily explained, and perhaps never will. Truth and justice was badly wounded when Lee Harvey Oswald was killed. I wonder if Jack Ruby ever realised that his act of violence would have such far reaching consequences.

They are both, in their own ways, a credit to Dealey Plaza UK and JFK Research in general. They are tenacious and have worked tirelessly to find the truth. Malcolm is incomparable and Bart, although many find his conclusions controversial, is none the less a breath of fresh air. I am privileged to call them friends.
