  1. Yet another tool I discovered recently: starQuiz. It has the same features as Hot Potatoes plus a little bit more. You can export a quiz you make as an html-page but you can also save it in the dedicated starQuiz format. To make such a quiz you need the full program (costs about $30,-) but students just need the starQuiz reader and that's for free. 2. The solution you propose should work but there seems to be a problem, at least when I try to do it. This is the message I get: "Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar or personal photo." The picture I used was a simple jpg-file of the demanded size. I found a work-around: I put the avatar on my personal website and made a link ("Enter a URL to an online avatar image", on the same page) to that picture.
  3. I'm Rik PALMANS, Biology and ICT teacher in the Provinciale Secundaire School of Voeren, a small community near to the spot where the borders of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany come together. (My students are 15-18 years old.) I'm also a member of the Biology Department of Virtual School. You may visit my personal website, about the region I'm living in, the ' Voerstreek' and the website of my school. Both are only in Dutch!
  4. Sorry but there seems to be an error in that url: http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/policies/digital...urriculum.shtml I tried to get access but I'm sent to the BBC mainpage.
