It is paragraphs like this that best example (I could have actually chosen several from this post to illustrate the same point) why I thank God I read mathematics; Is it me or does anybody else think this sounds not only as if it's bordering on pseudo-science but also pretentious? .............Or am I just showcasing my ignorance?

In my chequered past I have worked as a mathematics teacher, bouncer, owned an engineering company for 12 years and am now presently employed as an editor for a sports magazine. I now teach maths and computer science on a part time basis only and do it mainly because I enjoy teaching. My main interest is staying alive closely followed by a disgusting appetite to know as much as I can before my bell tolls.
