Your assertion that there may be thousands of pieces of information suggesting conspiracy may well be correct. But in a case with literally millions of pieces of information, this would not be unexpected. And the "mountain" suggesting LHO did it alone is much larger than the conspiracy one.

Explain the 2 front entry wounds to JFK.

I fully expect to see in October this year, the US Government release documents showing that the Radical Right in Dallas assassinated President JFK and used LHO as a Patsy.

I fully expect that if anything is released it will be thousands of pages of worthless xxxx that further confuses the key issues.

I sincerely hope I am wrong.

  3. FFS.

To me it appears obvious that Prayer Man is not standing at the front of the landing. He appears much further back on the landing than BWF hence all that noise ^^^ regarding his height is null and void.

The sooner the 4K/8k scans are available the better.

***EDIT: You need to keep in mind that the dark shape in front of prayer mans left side (right side from our perspective) is the body/dress of a lady. This gives the illusion of being part of Prayer Man which tricks your mind into thinking he is at the front of the landing.

  4. Bob,

    nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Secondly who says that with a handful, a momentum could not be gained.

But what's more interesting is you rather fill page after page here and wherever else discussing the film and so does Tomas Graves (you will not get the magic word from me sunshine) than write one email asking about it.

    Your intentions are crystal clear.

    Thank you and sleep well.

    B

And what, pray tell, are you implying with that remark, Barto?

Let me tell you something, oh arrogant son of ROKC. Are you not smart enough to figure out they would burn that film before they ever gave it up, if it had the potential to exonerate LHO?

For that matter, they likely burnt the damn thing years ago, along with any other evidence that might upset the apple cart.

Do you have any concept at all just who we are dealing with here? Do you not think they are not already twelve steps ahead of your troop of Boy Scouts, and are not the least bit intimidated by anything you do?

Get a grip on reality, man!

Arrogant? nah not in the least, I learn every day, especially about you! :sun

Son of ROKC? I am a mod there nothing more.

The very 1st gen copy was used in Stone's JFK The movie accompanying documentary Beyond JFK The Question Of Conspiracy

The 6th floor museum, as per message sent to Darren Hastings by Gary Mack and posted on this forum, has this copy.

Things like that do not get destroyed, unless of course you have the information and/or evidence that this has happened. So I presume you are speculating and putting up barriers that do not actually exist.

But what strikes me mostly as odd Bob is the energy you waste on me and these posts whereas you could have sent Megan Bryant an email by now already.

This I just don't understand, you actually wonder why the progress is so slow?

This year we got lucky and managed to nail the best image of Prayer Man In Wiegman, it took one of us at ROKC to physically go to NARA and nab it from the Richard E Sprague collection after I found out it was there. It is in the film.

Now for the next stage I wish David Lifton would give me a scan of his copy.......

You have a good day Bob!

    Hi Bart,

Just for accuracy, the info relayed to me from Gary Mack about the film being in the custody of the 6th floor museum was sent in an email from Gary to myself. It wasn't via this forums PM function. (Not sure if that's what you meant but just wanted to be clear)

I'd be happy to email the new curator if you'd be kind enough to share the email address with me (via PM or post here if you like).

    Cheers,

    Darren

  5. Further thoughts on the perspective differences making PM appear shorter than Lovelady.

I request forum members look at a flat surface (I used the top of a refrigerator as it is 2ft deep) and place their head 4ft below(1) the top of it and position yourself say 30ft away. Because you are looking up at it you have to agree that even with the difference of 2ft that the back of the refrigerator appears considerably shorter than the front despite the fact we KNOW they are the same height.

Hope that helps people visualise what I am trying to explain.

    (1) - The 4ft is chosen as it is the MINIMUM difference between the height of the camera (max 6ft....most likely lower) versus Loveladys head (4ft of steps + 5'8" of Lovelady)

  6. I respectfully disagree. Look at this image.

    http://www.show-the-house.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/BushJfkBookDepo2.jpg

The door is open and there is space between the door and the middle handrail. This means it MUST be at least 3ft...I'd estimate it to be at least 6 ft based on various photos.

EDIT: you posted while I was typing. If it is confirmed as 3ft then we still have a perspective issue which would make PM appear shorter.

  7. It's all about perspective.

The view we have of the TSBD steps in both frames is that we are looking upwards at PM and Lovelady. I tend to agree with where Robin Unger places PM (in the back corner against the glass). Since Lovelady is at the FRONT of the top landing (confirmed as he steps down) AND closer to the camera AND due to our perspective of looking upwards at them .......PM appears shorter in the frames but isn't actually shorter.

The TSBD top landing is quite deep as per Robins photo.

  8. I have no intention of being a messenger and wouldn't have shared these emails from Gary Mack here if I didn't believe it could help steer the cause towards a resolution. The work done on this thread is superb and I have very high hopes.

That being said, I received this from Gary later today also:

P.P.S. I should have mentioned the Mal Couch film. When WFAA donated their Kennedy assassination footage to The Sixth Floor Museum in the late 90s, the original Couch film could not be found. Fortunately, their donation did include a first generation copy and that 16mm print could also be made available.

There are few commercial facilities that can make 4K scans of 16mm film and the process is expensive; and there are none to my knowledge that offer 4K scans of 8mm films. The Library of Congress scan was a very special occasion requiring their ability to retain a digital file of the films for NARA's JFK Collection.

  9. Hi all,

I've been lurking here for years as a guest and only recently signed up as previously no new members were being accepted.

I've had email correspondence with Gary Mack in the past regarding a trip I took to Dallas recently. Anyway, I emailed him and directed him to the requests made by Lee, Mark et al above. He replied and requested I post his reply. Here it is in full.

    Hello Darren,

Please accept my apology for not getting back to you ahead of your Dallas visit....the last few months have been very difficult and I remain on disability leave. Too bad about the weather, but I hope you and your wife still enjoyed your visit.

I sent PMs and an email to Lee Farley and Carmine Savastano about the films issue but never heard back. Here's what I would have told them:

Of the films in question, The Sixth Floor Museum only owns one: Towner.

NBC owns the original Wiegman film but when producers of JFK: Death in Dealey Plaza asked them for it 12 years ago (at my request), NBC could only locate a 1960s-era video tape of it. We wound up using, I think, a 1963/1964 theatrical newsreel version held by UCLA.

NBC took the original Wiegman and Darnell films from the Dallas NBC affiliate to New York following the assassination weekend. Whether the network still has the original Darnell film is unknown, but as a former employee I know the affiliate does not have it or a copy. Nor does Jimmy Darnell.

Fortunately, a first-generation 16mm copy print was made in Dallas over that weekend and it is in the Museum's collection; however, the Museum cannot do anything with it until copyright issues are resolved. It'll happen, and sooner rather than later.

A 4K, high res scan of the Towner film was made under my supervision, with Tina's permission, four years ago at the Library of Congress. Every frame of the TSBD doorway was blurred due to the panning motion of her camera. In my opinion, the film would be useless in any effort to ID Prayer Man.

So there you have it. I'm very much in favor of using technology to learn new information from films and photos and so is the Museum. In fact, that Library of Congress scanning session was set up and funded by the producers of JFK: The Lost Bullet.

The Museum's only concern was the safety of the films during the process and in transit, and also to own the rights to the resulting scans of the films it already owns.

Such a study might well be the subject of a future TV doc, and I have discussed the idea with producers in the past.

By the way, I do not get paid anything for TV appearances, for that would be a serious conflict of interest in the museum field and I would likely be terminated for doing so. And despite what others have been saying, I only have a five-figure salary and I'm far from being some kind of millionaire.

    Gary Mack

P.S. After reviewing the above information, I'll ask you to consider putting it on one or more newsgroups for reference. Thanks.
