  1. Was it a cg83 vessel like these ? Sorry about your dad. I can see he meant a lot to you in conflicting ways. h
  2. Hey Hiram (and Scott), Yes, my mistake, NW South River Dr. is the correct address. I've drawn a red box around the location of the Warehouse or Boat Shop in your photo. The cement is clearly discolored in an outline that indicates where the building stood and corresponds with the address of that business (coincidently appears to have ceased operations in 1964). https://www.dropbox.com/s/klcawukrdizt91x/Dock_miami.jpg?dl=0 Chris ------------------------------------ Chris and Scott, If that is the right address, then the cutter would have been docked at the upper left corner of your red square, with the prow toward the top of the picture, based on my recollection of how we went on board. The link below is full of great information on this type of vessel. http://www.cg83527.org/83footerphotos.htm BTW, I just found a YouTube shouting match between Scott and Gerry's son Felipe who looks a lot like his dad. I would like to contact Felipe, if anyone knows how, via email preferably. -h
  3. Scott, Here is the cg83 web site where you can get all the same pics I got, etc. http://www.cg83527.org/83footerphotos.htm h
  4. OK Scott. I have to crash now. Tomorrow I'll post. The photo of Sturgis et al is not connected to the owner of the cg83 however. Which would you like? h
  5. Thank you Chris. How did you get and look up the address? BTW, I am in touch with the owner of the CG 83 foot cutter that is now a display attraction. He has zillions of the best photos and even one video clip of these vessels in action. He has been very helpful: it turns out the deck planking does indeed come up, as a plug, to hoist the engines. There is room in the engine room for a pair of fifteen-foot torpedo or slightly more. Also, modifications would have been possible to the bulkheads, etc. I have found a photo of three raiders of fame on the forward deck of another cg83 with a slightly different superstructure. These three are, Frank Sturgis, Pedro Diaz Lantz, and a third whose name I have lost. I got that photo off the web and not from my private source: I did not know these men. Thanks again, h
  6. ***************************************************************************** Huh??? Ferre? Hemming?
  7. *************************************************************** Hi again Chris, I could not find this address: it seems NE South River Drive does not exist, although NW South River Drive does.. Could you resolve this and post a screen shot ? Thanks, h
  8. OK, Here is my photobucket album, http://s977.photobucket.com/user/gooddog9/media/Hermandad%20Cubana/169%20LIVING%20ROOM%20ANNOTATED_zps6awpr1s3.jpg.html The photo of a living room audience shows a man with a vertical, broad-striped shirt and rimless glasses. He is the one who bears a little resemblance to Barker. If your friends recognize anyone else in the picture, or disagree with any of my captions, and they don't mind identifying them, please let me know. The meeting took place in late September or early October of 1962, at 169 NW 28th Street, Miami, Florida. Thanks, h
  9. I believe that's last thing Gerry would have done, is anything but what the White House wanted. I believe it was more for the money then anything else. Your comment regarding Constable Seymour, it did remain identical with DPD, the WC and Canfield. The only other reason he visited the nut house, was [after] having a breakdown, after viewing Macho's photo on TV after the break-ins. Make no mistake, there is no doubt, Macho was SS that day. -------------------You lost me here. Which comment about William Houston Seymour ( constable ? ) and who is Macho, other than my uncle? SS which day? Who is the " guy " in your linked photo. Thanx OK, I found " A Man Called Macho " by Fernandez-Zayas. Barker is the only other " Macho " I have heard of, besides my uncle Macho who was nick-named such by his dad because they had five girls before finally having a boy; something of import to my 19 th Century Spanish grandfather. So, if you knew Macho back in '62, did he look like the man in a striped shirt, in my living room, that I linked a few pages back, in photobucket ?
  10. -------------------------------------------Chris, I just realized that I never answered your question. To Seymour's left and one row behind was a young woman I do not know. To Seymour's left and one row in front of him is a man wearing a striped shirt and rimless glasses: He may be Watergate burglar Bernard Barker. But, I am not very certain because there is a ten-year time difference and the two faces do not look similar enough to inspire confidence in the match. There is an empty seat to this man's right where I was sitting moments before the photograph was snapped. Gerry asked my uncle Pancho to call me out of the picture because it wasn't a place for kids.
  11. Sounds like an agency creep who was doing what the White House wanted regarding raids from Florida. I don't have an opinion of my own, for lack of information. I am just reading every one else's opinions.
  12. Mr. Kaiser, Of the various alternate versions of Fonseca's demise that I have referred in my posts, my best guess is that he was busted immediately, by Fidel's forces, and executed in late October or early November of 1962. Did you have personal experience with Gerry sufficient to form an opinion of whether or not he was himself the informant who tipped off Fidel's forces regarding the Fonseca raid and assassination attempt on Fidel?
  13. Paul, I watched some of his video interviews this week. What do you think of him ?
  14. To all, Paul Trejo wrote me that he has been banned from posting due to his use of a forbidden word denoting a person of dual ethnicity. I was surprised to read Gerry's frequent use of ethnic slurs, when I first lurked this site. Is there a quick way to download an entire thread so that I won't lose expunged content in the future? I did not think to do it earlier, trusting that it would remain for years. Thanks, -HH
  15. --------------Paul, Duran is now a respected attorney in Miami, I read on line. He was ostracized by extreme-right exiles, for traveling to Cuba " recently " in a less hostile way than when he last went to invade. He was no fan of JFK while on BOP, I suppose. Maybe he thinks differently now regarding JFK' alleged betrayal. If you visit a site called " Familiar Faces at Dealey Plaza ", you will see photos taken there minutes after the shooting. It looks to me that he was there standing next to Marita's doppelgänger. My storm drain grill opinion is only an hypothesis of the " I think " kind. I try to posit readily achievable solutions to the puzzles of DP. I marvel at the knots created, by both skeptics and their opponents, as they argue about too narrow drain pipes and crowded spaces ETC. My friends and I used to play a thought game called "KILL THE PRESIDENT" where we had to figure out a method that preserves Jackie and other non-targets, kills the President, won't result in arrests, etc. The most ludicrous one was the umbrella flèchette method. Keep in mind that we were all graduate students in physics, engineering, chemistry, and biology. My proposal, above, won me a pizza and a back rub for its elegance. So you know it must be the True solution. I always wonder how Gerry could do anything clandestine, being as tall and as much of a woman magnet as he was. Yet some here will swear that he fit inside a T-33 cockpit and could parachute without his legs reaching the ground before he pulled the little string. I am persuaded by Twyman's ambivalence without acquittal. To be sure, Gerry seemed to play that dodgeball game I mentioned above quite well. And still we didn't expect him to sign a detailed confession, right? I answered Mr. Richards and Mr. Burnham. Their comments were very brief and left me in the state I described regarding Gerry's addressing Hall by name in my presence etc. And I put together the modified Hall picture to compare with Paul Trejo's photo of Hall in the easy chair with eye brows sharply raised. The greatest obstacle to disregarding my "own lying eyes" , as the saying goes, is the extreme improbability of getting that many concatenated coincidences of doppelgängers along with Gerry and Davy and with an anti-Castro venue like that. Compounded and meaningfully related coincidences multiply like a string of fractions. Very quickly you get microscopic chances of the critter not being a duck. It would be very different if one person were a doppelgänger of Elvis, another of Mickey Mantle, another of Humphrey Bogart, etc. and they were all found scattered along the strand at South Beach. Nevertheles, I would love to see an extensive collection of relevant photographs. The several versions of Fonseca's fate that I have found recently and the Cuban Rebel Radio broadcast of his execution late in October of 1962, all give me the impression that either some reporters are very sloppy with their dates, or there was something more to Hermandad Cubana and Comandante Fonseca than meets the eye. Stay tuned ... My invitation remains open for anyone who can, to identify the uncaptioned faces in my living room photo. -H
  16. Paul, Hall and Howard's war names never came up at these meetings. Gerry addressed Hall as " Hall" when he handed Hall the camera to take the photo of the men and my aunt seated at the table. I have not recalled anything that Hall said. He did not give a speech; only Gerry, Fonseca, Argüelles, Lagos, and Fariñas. Howard was not at these meetings and I never met him, unless you mean Howard Kenneth Davis, aka Davy. I did meet him, but he only spoke one sentence to me and was otherwise practically mute. I did get to talk a little bit with Fonseca and Argüelles, to express my eagerness to have an i.d. photo card made so I could be a card-carrying member of Hermandad Cubana. This angered my aunt, to my great surprise. Fonseca also let me peek at a photo, in a plastic protector that he kept in a ring binder along with various combat photos. The photo was of a formidable looking assassination weapon that fired 32 miniature, solid- fueled, rocket flechettes in one volley. I read an article on this weapon in one of the large format magazines in my high school library ... LIFE or LOOK; I forget. I have never found exactly the same weapon on line. It was fascinating. I know someone who deals in vintage weapons and may refer me to a picture of one. It looked like a pepper box type of pistol only eight inches in diameter and about fourteen inches long, with thirty-two bores, a small flip-up sight and a small straight-down, simple grip. Do you know anything about this man, Fonseca? -H
  17. Paul,nI wish I had had as good a memory in graduate school. But my memories of the sixties are more like a burned-in video while my regular memories are more like recent narratives written on the strand at low tide. I think it was a public execution for invited guests of the rogue community. The "familiar faces, in Dealey Plaza", were mostly whom they appear to be, Rip Robertson, Gerry, Marita, Duran, Landsdale, et al included. They were there to reassure Greer, the secret service, in the Queen Mary (including Hill), knoll & window shooters, et al, that they were not alone and to direct the operation. Some faces were there to distract and run defense, if the snafu got out of hand. Some were sent in to be patsies. Most of them enjoyed the show. I disagree with the simultaneous back and front of head impacts explanation for JFK's head motion forward just before the back snap: a slightly elevated knoll shooter would necessarily produce, with a single impact, a downward roll of the head as it whipped back, because the neck was not ram-rod rigid. That would have looked like a cheaply animated cartoon. Try making a fist for the head and pushing sharply at that slightly downward angle, on the right temple / forehead. Your fist and forearm will not snap back like an ironing board. That would have looked very unnatural. Your fist will roll down a little as your forearm snaps back and to the left. This is because the frangible bullet did not hit what physicists call the "percussion point" and pool players and batters call the " sweet spot ". The knoll shooter at the end near the overpass had the grill of the storm drain already flipped open, with his weapon waiting, in a canvas sled, at the mouth of the drain pipe. He took one shot and placed the weapon back in the canvas sled within the drain pipe. His confederate then reeled the loaded sled toward himself in the Main Street, spacious, drain tunnel, then crouched to a place blocks away, where he surfaced by a fake municipal worker's van to make the getaway. The shooter closed the drain and started his secret service deception with cops and witnesses. If caught, he would have proof that he had been hunting hours before and thus had legitmate powder burns. He might get in a little trouble for the fake i.d., and he might have an apartment full of SS clippings, paraphernalia, etc. in an altar showing that he was an SS fanatic with delusions and all. I think Gerry did not have to fly a jet back home to call in his alibi: I know that I could easily impersonate my brother on the phone; our voices are essentially indistinguishable. Why not show up in person? I think Dino B. was telling the truth regarding the processing of the Z film at NPIC and the limo came to a halt. I think Hill had a purple crush on Jackie along the lines of the courtly love tradition set forth by Eleanor of Aquitane, in Florence, Italy, centuries ago. He crouched on the limo bumper, on and off, several times near danger spots, during the motorcade, despite the initial wave-off, by Roberts, at Love Field. He probably disliked JFK for his affairs and the hurt these caused Jackie. Hill was almost a surrogate husband and dad. I will say, tongue-in-cheek, that the adult John John looked a hell of a lot more like Hill Hill than he did like Jack Jack . Hill reacted when he saw Jackie's head dangerously close to JFK's. I still think he is a hero. I had a crush on Jackie of my own, the minute she started her speech, in Spanish, at the Orange bowl. Jack looked radiant. But Jackie looked absolutely edible as she repeatedly praised the " real men " of the 2506, in her version of Spanish that incorrectly rolled every "r" available. My uncle Pancho seemed to know that an attempt would be made on JFK right there. He had us sit by the rail with instructions on how to jump it and run down to our car "when the shooting starts". The JFK film is, in my humble opinion, still the closest thing to reality and the hit team with Gerry probably included some of the men in my living room in 1962. -H
  18. --------------------------------------------------- KK, I have seen the Dear Fidel video and I have seen Gerry and Lorenz accuse each other of being in the caravan to Dallas. Marita says Gerry went but not she. Gerry says Marita went but not he. And the same kind of "dodge ball" game is played with Manolo, Harber, and Hall, and Sturgis. It is hilarious how they accuse each other of being queers and drug traffickers, and pederasts. Me thinks they dost protest too much . There are photos of Dealey Plaza that show a Gerry doppelgänger as well as Alfredo Duran with Marita doppelgängers. I think they were all there and do not despise each other at all. I may be a little paranoid and fanciful, but I have a feeling that, after tossing authors and investigators around their circle, these operators gathered in a pub or private hall somewhere, broke out a keg of lager, and had a great laugh. -HH
  19. Paul, Thank you so much for these little treasures. Did you ever meet Hall or Hemming in person? Regarding supplies, I was involved in my own, baby terrorist, way: It was a thrill, at eight, to be in cahoots, with my adult family, in clandestine doings. This started when we used to huddle around the Bakelite tube radio, in Habana, to listen for Miami-based transmissions against "La bestia del Caribe" . We did this, in the dark, with the doors and windows shuttered, because the G2 neighborhood office was not six feet away, adjacent to our front door. Imagine the fun it was for a kiddie to be in the family while being outside the prevailing rules simultaneously! I flew to Miami on Fathers' day after BOP. I used to skip lunch at school often and save the lunch money my aunt Ina gave me along with all allowances. By October of 1962, I had a tin filled with $35.00 in coins. I donated this to buy fuel for the cutter pictured in my posts above. I also bought a one-pound bag of Squibb brand multi vitamins for Gerry, et al. I will try to post a photo of my uncle Pancho's Café Pilon delivery van loaded with more substantial quantities of supplies for Interpen. You may recognize the "refugee food" there and surmise the source of it. The gentleman standing at the van door is Antonio Fariñas; a family friend and colleague of Wendell Rollason of the Inter-American Affairs Commission, who procured visa waivers for me and mine. A whiff of Cold War, Miami air can be remembered from the fact that the red-over-black color scheme of the Pilon brand elicited some bomb threats against this company who was forced to re-paint and re-brand their trucks with a black and gold scheme and heraldic lions flanking an escutcheon with Caesar's formula, " Veni, vidi, vinci", in gold letters. The brand now was Aroma De Oro. I recently saw the original Pilon ground coffee on the shelves of a Latino food store in LA. Red over black was, of course, the color scheme of Fidel's "26 de Julio" movement.
  20. Thank you Paul. My version of Hall ( picture on the right ) was taken in October of 1962. I have read of Hall being Cuban. Maybe this is a misunderstanding due to his first sentence in his Bircher speech: "I am a Cuban freedom fighter.". I think he meant: "I am a fighter for Cuban freedom.". I say this because his Spanish is heavily accented for Anglo; especially when he says, "¡Paredon!". I read that his parents were Cuban. Hmmmmmm..... maybe. I want to read as much as I can find about Hall, because I am fascinated by allegations of his involvement in the JFK assassination. He is said to have recorded a tape to be revealed in case of his untimely demise. I wish we had that. Also, I would be interested in any interviews and anecdotes of him. When I found Gerry's posts here, some years back, I had a pic-nic for days of non-stop amazement. Sadly, Gerry had died eleven months earlier and I had lost any chance to ask him questions. The only thing worse than a question I can't answer is an itch I can't reach ? Thanks again, H
  21. Thanks Chris. I will look it up. You are referring to the old ship I boarded and not to its museum display in white, right? It should say " INTERCOASTAL BOAT YARD ". There must have been some trick to ramming it into a Soviet ship without killing themselves. I imagine a speedboat pickup. Swimming away would have been suicidal, because the explosion shock wave in the water would have killed them instantly. Then again, they wanted a nuclear war with Cuba !!! Everyone in Miami knew what that meant and felt the powerful laxative effect of it when the USSR exploded the 50 megaton thermonuke at that time. Thanks again, h
  22. Agreed. ----------------------------Hello Mr. Burnham, Mr. Richards, I have watched your YouTube videos re. Gerry. These were great. Thank you! The reasons I identify, say Loran Hall, are: 1. He took the photograph of the men seated at the table, a few minutes after the photographer captioned Argüelles took the photograph of the audience in my living room. The camera was handed to Hall by Gerry who addressed him by the name "Hall". 2. My uncle, captioned "Frank Alba", gushed a little too much, in his introduction of our guests, about the bravery of the veterans present. This caused Gerry to jokingly remark, (closely paraphrased) " Now come on, they're not THAT brave!". A ripple of good-natured laughter resulted in my uncle laughing with his head lowered in embarrassment. When Hall laughed, the laugh lines in his eyes and face were just like the ones depicted in the slide show incorporated in YouTube "LoranHall_01" and "LoranHall_02". My uncle had a face that wrinkled that way too, when he laughed. Hall looked around toward Manolo and back to Seymour. I had been sitting in the space between Harber and the gent wearing a striped shirt and rimless glasses. Gerry asked my uncle to get me out of there, because it was not a place for children. I ducked just inside the doorway of the second bedroom (not visible in the table photo) to the left of Argüelles. Gerry and Davy left out the front with the furled flags and were followed, after the camera was returned to Argüelles, by Seymour, my uncle Alba, and Hall. They probably went out to stow the flags in my uncle's Café Pilon delivery van. I went to the kitchen after a little time with Fonseca and a secret reprimand session with my aunt Eloina Alba regarding my request for an HC i.d. card like my cousin was having printed. There, in the kitchen, was Gerry and Davy seated at our dining table. When he had headed out our front door with Davy and flags, Gerry also asked where "Manolo" went as he nodded to that now empty seat. The name "Manolo" is a Spanish nick name for "Manuel" just as "Jack" is one for "John" in English. Manolo had gone into the bedroom visible in my photo ( a giraffe-necked man standing in the doorway; my maternal uncle "Macho") . The only business Manolo had there was to use the bathroom that connected both bedrooms. I did not see Manolo come out after Gerry et al, as I was in the kitchen. Gerry did not address Seymour nor Harber. I identify them only by comparison to the Interpen thumbnail matrix here. I will try to attach a side-by-side montage of YouTube Hall and living room Hall to which I have made minor, non-morphological modifications as captioned. http://s977.photobucket.com/user/gooddog9/media/image.png.html Below is a smaller version, The only distinctions I can discern result from Hall raising his eye-brows sharply, while forming a word, and consequently rippling his forehead, rounding his eyes, and exposing more of their sclera. The mark on his cheek must have been temporary as it does not appear in his other YouTube portraits. I note, in particular, that although the ears are not from the same side (I flipped my photo for better comparison) the conch and especially the lower lobe are essentially identical. The conch of a person's ear are said to be almost like finger prints. Contextually, I would be forced to disregard my own lying eyes ? and believe that Gerry towed around a retinue of doppelgängers: one for Hall, one for Harber, one for Seymour, one for Aguilar, and these all happened to turn up at a venue that was itself a kind of doppelgänger, being just the kind of assemblage the real characters would frequent. Can you gentlemen expand a little on why you feel this is the case? I hope the attachment here goes through. Else, I will edit a link to my horrid photobucket. Thank you, HH
  23. Re. Files and mystery companion, I'd like to read more about him, if you give a link or reference. I have read about the Remington pistol and fireball ammo. I am intrigued, as well, by theories of escape via storm drains. But, for the life of me, I don't understand why everyone keeps harping on the narrowness of the pipes: A person does not have to fit; only the *weapon* ! It can be set in a pocket-end tarp with a pull line that a confederate, in the Main Street drain tunnel, then uses to pull the weapon to himself. From there, he/she can crouch over to a man hole a few blocks away where ersatz city workers have parked a van. The stay-behind shooter, who has made himself conspicuous at various target ranges and hunting venues on the previous day, can walk away with aplomb. Any arrest and paraffin test would be moot in view of his recent, legitimate use of a weapon. Sancta simplicitas !
