The ballistic evidence I referred to is listed in the affidavit. If anyone can let me know what they think about the ballistic evidence, or if they believe the investigators provided probable cause for an arrest, it would be appreciated.
  2. Howdy all, I have an off topic question for this off topic thread. Are any members familiar or knowledgable in the field of ballistic evidence? Or do you know anyone who may be that is willing to answer a question about the reliability if such evidence? My question pertains to an unsolved murder. I would be happy to provide more details if anyone can help. Thanks!
  3. I am in Michigan, and my bill last for 7/06 through 8/03 was $323 for 1762 kWh used. Our electric provider also uses "peak pricing" which jacks up the rate to 1.5 times from 2 p.m. through 7 p.m M-F from June through the end of September.
  4. Not too sure how thrilled I would be about an elected official ruling my life either. On another note, how many kWH's did you use your last billing cycle?
  5. I haven't heard he was denied a security clearance. Can you point me towards this info?
  6. I am wondering what the thoughts of current forum administrators are regarding moving forward. Are we looking at only having someone take on maintenance of the financial obligations? Are we looking to change moderators? Is James giving control of the forum to the person who takes over payment for him? We need to solve this and get moving toward the future. It would be nice to know where everyone stands on the issue and how the current team would like yo proceed.
  7. I have not yet donated in this funding round. Should we hold off on donations until we figure out what we will do moving forward?
  8. If no one else steps up, I would be happy to take care of the PayPal account and ensure the monthly payment is made. I don't post often, but I visit the site multiple times a day just to absorb as much info as possible. Also, James made a somewhat dire statement earlier in the thread about the forum potentially being in danger due to financial issues. That is not the case. We have plenty of members willing to pony up, plus I would fund the forum myself if necessary. I also fit Sandy's request of the holder being a "younger, somewhat healthy" person. I am 38 years old, and don't plan on going anywhere for a long time. I don't want this to be interpreted as me advocating for the position. I would prefer someone else take over, but if needed I am willing to step in to keep this thing going.
  9. Chris, sounds like a good plan. I hope we can all agree to a plan soon. I think a head count post would be great!
  10. I think we have our answer there. Set up a PayPal and pin it to the forum and have Invision debit the account monthly. Maybe update us periodically on the balance and shake the tree when we need more cash money.
  11. James, If not familiar, a 501 (c)(3) is a way of obtaining a tax exempt status for a qualifying organization. The U.S. tax code is ridiculously complex and the publication previously referenced and attached helps to navigate through the process of obtaining a tax exempt status for an organization. You don't just start an organization as a 501 (c)(3). You must first incorporate as a non profit corporation. Then you apply for tax exempt status. To me, this is unnecessary. We are not out to make a profit and our yearly receipts would in theory match our yearly expenditures. So why do we need to have a tax exempt status? Further, why would we need to incorporate in any official manner? It just complicates things and adds unnecessary expenditures and liabilities. If we boil it down, we are simply trying to raise a certain amount of funds and then transfer those funds to Invision to maintain our subscription. It would be easiest for you or anyone to link the bank account used to pay Invision to a new PayPal account that is used only for receiving donations and paying Invision. We would do a campaign once a year where we solicit donations to fund the next year. Once we reach the amount needed, you would pay Invision the yearly fee. I don't see why it needs to be any more complicated than that. Sorry if this is a bit disjointed, typing on mobile.
  12. I understand what you are saying, Mark. If you read the publication, it will tell you what qualifies as an educational purpose. By all means, do what you feel is best, I am only trying to be helpful and save the hassle.
  13. Attached is IRS Publication 557. This deals with the different types of 501 C's. I don't think our purpose would qualify under 501 (c)(3). We may fit under a 501 (c)(7), but I am not sure that would work either. p557 (1).pdf
  14. To figure out who is going to take over, I suggest the following, which I am happy to do: Create post on forum asking for people interested in taking over to state as such. The deadline for submissions will be this Friday at 12:00 noon Eastern. After that, I will create a poll with the candidates and publish to the forum. Most votes will be the new "leader". Sound like a plan?
  15. I can see the benefit to Mark's idea, but creating any official entity comes with costs and extra responsibilities. I have looked into this for other things, and have always come to the decision that I can achieve the goal in a simpler way. I am sure any of our lawyer friends can chime in on this. As far as accounting goes, we would just setup a PayPal account that is only for forum business. You count what goes in and what comes out, that is it. For soliciting funds, I prefer a voluntary donation method and am sure we could cover our yearly cost in a matter of hours. S.T. made mention of the subscription method and he couldn't be more correct. Additionally, forcing members to pay to play is not preferred. There are members who contribute valuable content here but may not be able or willing to pony up the funds for a membership. I am fine with that and will donate more than my necessary portion to keep things going. In future years, someone needs to track time and make July or August our pledge drive month. A proactive method, if you will. Once established, we should be able to proceed as we are with minimal issues.
  16. Here is a link to Invision's pricing matrix https://invisioncommunity.com/buy . It doesn't appear any price break is given for prepayment, but I think this would be the best way to do it. That way it is paid for the year and we don't have to mess around with paying another bill each month and transferring funds. I believe we would either need the Creator or Creator Pro package. For creator we would need $1,068.00 and for the Pro we would need $1,788.00. Anyone have thoughts?
  17. James, I believe any misplacing of funds would be forgiven as you have funded the forum out of your own pocket previously. I would be willing to head up the fundraising efforts and work with you to get the bill paid each month. Also, I am sure they have an annual option which may save a bit of money. If we work this plan out, I still believe we should make an effort to cleanup some of the forum and try to setup a system to archive or backup the forum data at least weekly. Can you check to see what a yearly subscription would cost?
  18. I would do it, but I think a group of 3 or so would be better. One person to manage finances/fundraising and dealing with Invision or another host. One person to head up the tech end of things. I am sure this place could be cleaned up a bit, plus it would be nice to figure out a system to backup content frequently. One person to head up moderation and administration of the forum. This group could work together to make decisions and no single person would be able to make major decisions without a consensus between the group. I would be glad to head up the finance position and work to get a team together!
  19. Are you asking for someone to take over ownership of the forum?
  20. Agreed. If it was truly a coordinated "attack", it would have been successful. As you said, a bunch of yahoos were able to enter the Capitol rather easily. And what was their crime once they entered, sitting at Nance's desk and wearing a buffalo head? If I were planning a takeover and capture of certain officials, it would have looked a lot different. Another thing that makes me wonder, why am I not seeing any guns? Surely a coordinated attack with a government takeover as it's goal would include firearms. They did show what they purport to be firearms at a hotel in Virginia where they claim some sort of mercenary strike crew was staying in the case they were needed. All they showed were dudes carrying a few long things under coats and or blankets. Probably just a couple larpers.
  21. Perhaps the system needs to collapse. It's not working. It doesn't work for you and it doesn't work for me. To save the Republic, what is it that you suggest, Matt? Witch hunts, show trials, highly produced primetime hearings by a "committee" that excludes representation from half the country? Go ahead, lock 'em up, hang 'em all. It's not going to change a damn thing, except giving you a hard on. Additionally, as is often the case with the left, their plan will backfire on them and will serve to further galvanize those who they seek to persecute. If you have any tangible ideas to save the Republic, I am all ears, but this isn't it.
  22. There's so much hate in this statement. I don't see how this makes you any different than those dirty MAGATS. You've let the hate consume you and have become the exact thing you profess to abhor, just on the opposite side and perhaps a notch or two more radical.
  23. The dates don't work for this to be Oliver. She was born in 1946, and Dillinger was killed in 1934. The story is either about someone else or it is a fabrication.
