  1. Paul, I think I've found the answer myself. Look here at Jim Hargroves post about the Bolton Ford incident: http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?/topic/23677-a-couple-of-real-gems-from-the-harvey-and-lee-website/&page=11 Deslatte could not describe the two visitors, but his colleague Sewell could. This is how he describes the Latino: "Kind of heavy-set ..... not overly, but well built ..... he was curly haired ..... he had a scar over his left eye ..... olive complexioned and seemed to be educated ..... he had a Cuban accent and looked like a Cuban." I think that description might fit David Morales.
  2. Did Oswald speak Spanish? According to Nelson Delgado Oswald's Spanish was so good they were able to discuss Marxism together. This is corroborated by reports from New Orleans where Oswald supposedly conversed with people of Latin descent. However, Sylvia Odio says although the man she later identified as Oswald greeted her in Spanish he did not seem to be able to follow the conversation she had with her other two visitors. And according to Valery Kostikov Oswald told him he didn't speak Spanish. So what is true? And if Oswald indeed spoke Spanish, where did he learn it? Just from Nelson Delgado? As a professional language teacher I find that hard to believe. I don't think he could've taught him more than a few words or phrases.
  3. @ Larry Hancock: Severaly CIA staff have said that they saw photos of Oswald in Mexico City and that Win Scott hid them in his private safe (until James Angleton took them). I've always thought that the CIA had been trying to hide the fact that Oswald went to Mexico in the company of others (the same people he went to Silvia Odio with?) Now having re-read the relevant parts on Mexico City in Gaeton Fonzi's and Jefferson Morley's book I'm not so sure anymore. A number of witnesses claim the Oswald they saw was much older and blond. However, why would CIA agents claim to have seen photos of Oswald when CIA headquarters has always maintained there are no photos? Why would they do that? That doesn't make sense, does it? And again my question from above: Why did the impostor calling the Soviet embassy know so little about what Oswald had done there? Doesn't that mean the person who visited the embassy and the man one the phone can't have been one and the same?
  4. Thank you Steve. George de Mohrenschildt was certainly a very well connected man...
  5. Or, come to think of it, was the impostor maybe trying to deliberately muddy the water??
  6. I think there are some problems with the idea that Oswald did not go to Mexico at all. First of all: Where was he at that time if not in Mexico? Is there any evidence at all that he might have been someplace other than Mexico? 2nd: John Newman shows in his book that the impostor who called the Soviet embassy only had a rough idea what the "real" (or not?) Oswald had done and said there. HIs analysis of the transcripts clearly shows that it is more likely that he (the impostor) was actually trying to find out what Oswald had been up to. Why would he do that if he himself had been impersonating Oswald all along? It doesn't make sense.
  7. Thank you for that link. Wow, that's an awful lot of documents, that'll keep me busy for a while... One more thought: I remember reading that George de Mohrenschildt was also cozy with one of the bosses at Schlumberger. Is that true?
  8. Thank you Paul for this interesting piece of information. This reminds me of something else I read in the Trail of the Assassins. Jim Garrison claims that one of the men trying to buy trucks at the Bolton Ford dealership was also a Latino with a scar over his left eye. However, other sources say that the Bolton Ford employees were not able to give a detailed description of the two visitors at all... so what's the truth here?
  9. I think I may have found some more interesting links concerning de Gaulle in Jim Garrison's book. According to Italian press articles PERMINDEX was also involved in the funding of OAS, a French terrorist group opposed to de Gaulle. The problem is of course that the only source here seems to be some left-wing Italian newspaper... BUT: The Schlumberger corporation (a big French-owned oil Company) was also allegedly involved with the OAS, supplying them with arms (I assume because of the Algerian oil? de Gaulle supported Algeria's Independence from France!). And it was one of Schlumberger's depots where David Ferrie and the exile-Cubans stole explosives from. So my hypothesis goes like this: Could there be a link between Ferrie, Davis and Ruby? Might they have been in cahoots in secret arms deals?
  10. According to Seth Kantor's book "The Ruby Cover-Up", Thomas Davis was contacted by Jack Ruby in an attempt to sell jeeps to Cuba. It also says that he was involved in training anti-Castro Cubans in Florida. Do we have more information about this? Who did he work with in Florida? The name "Davis" (without a first name) also appears in John Newman's book "Oswald and the CIA". This "Davis" is member of the "30th of November group". Could the two be one and the some person? In Kantor's book we also learn that Davis was arrested in Algeria because he was suspected of being involved in assassination attempts against de Gaulle. This I find highly interesting. Does anyone know more about this?
  11. I've been reading your forum for many years and have always found it to be a great resource for the latest research on the Kennedy assassination. As an English teacher and translator I've always been interested in American History. Since watching Oliver Stone's movie the Kennedy case has become a special interest of mine and I've read numerous websites and books on the subject. For a few years I was a regular contributor to Robert Harris' JFK History forum until unfortunately it was taken off the internet. After that I created my own personal German-language website (http://kennedy-mord.lima-city.de/). I've also contributed to the German-language Wikipedia article on the case trying to remove some of the anti-conspiracy bias in it. Although I met fierce resistance at first I finally succeeded in adding some important information concerning the dictabelt evidence and the Silvia Odio incident for instance. I'd be very glad if you accept me as a member as I've numerous questions to ask and maybe even some tiny tidbit of information to add myself.
