Thanks David. Although I dont agree with your beliefs on the assassination Id like to thank you for maintaining your site. It's nice not to have to search all over for A/V. I've been listening to the Dallas radio broadcasts from that day the last few nights

    Michael,

There is no problem using old EF threads by banned members. What we mean is current and not- previously-posted here type of thing.  If someone is banned that means that's it, and posting vicariously through another member defeats the whole purpose of banning. The person loses the privilege of posting, whether "language and invectives" or no.

I'm still confused about this rule. Does the banned person have to be mentioned? Say I agree with a subject the banned member posted on another forum and I wanted to bring the topic here to discuss. I have no connection with any of the banned members and dont even know who any of them are to be honest except for 1 or 2. Would I be penalized for bringing up the subject without mentioning a name if I wish to to discuss it?

I would agree that I think there was an LHO impostor in USSR at the same time as LHO.  Marguerite even alluded to that possibility. What documentation is there that there is a connection to Bannister?

I wasnt talking about an imposter in Russia. His name was allegedly used in NO while he was in Russia. With Bannister being involved in the Cuban operations going on there I'd assume he was involved

    John,

I guess you're referring to the Bolton Ford incident.  This is from AJ Weberman's Nodule 11:

    AJ Weberman Nodule 11

    http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/weberman/nodule11.htm

The second to the last paragraph references CD 75 page 677. Here's a link to that FBI interview of Oscar Deslatte:

    https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=10477#relPageId=681&tab=page

It doesn't look like the person presented a drivers license.

BANISTER AND THE BOLTON FORD INCIDENT

On January 20, 1961, the FBI generated a report that was File #2-41, subject, FRANK ANTHONY STURGIS - Neutrality Matters. This file was withheld. On January 20, 1961, two members of Friends of Democratic Cuba attempted to purchase several pickup trucks from Oscar Deslatte of Bolton Ford. One of them used the name LEE OSWALD. The FBI reported: "On November 25, 1963, Mr. William A. Watson, Vice-President, Bolton Ford Company, New Orleans, telephonically advised his truck manager informed him that the Friends of Democratic Cuba had made a bid on a truck and that the bid was signed by OSWALD. Another name appeared on the bill and believed to be Joseph Moler. He stated all information would be available through his truck manager, Fred Sewell." [NARA 124-10248-10153]

    FRED SEWELL

Fred Sewell told an investigator for Jim Garrison: "I think that Oscar Deslatte wrote that on there, LEE OSWALD, but he didn't use the name HARVEY, just LEE OSWALD if I remember right. Yes, it's been six years of course. He represented himself as LEE OSWALD. He's the man that spoke up and said, 'I'm the man handling the money. You ought to have my name too...I would say that the men were in there that I could see them maybe an hour...So then when the President was assassinated and the name came out, Oscar come in either the next morning or the morning after and said, "Say Fred, do you remember those two guys who was in here from Cuba trying to get some buses cheap? And I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'I think that one of those men was the one who killed the President.' I said, 'Aw, you're kidding.' and he said 'We've got a piece of paper around here somewhere with a bid on it.' He went and hauled that piece of paper out and then Oscar called the FBI...The FBI come down and picked it up with two pieces of plastic. They didn't even put their fingerprints on it. And slid these two pieces of plastic on each side of it and offered us a receipt for it and took it with them." Fred Sewell was asked by Jim Garrison: "In other words they expected to find fingerprints on it?" Sewell: "Yes, but I don't think the man ever touched it, really. We did, but I don't think he did. Then Oscar come to me and he said, 'I got some kind of Freedom or Free Democrats of Cuba' or something. He had a name for it. He come in my office and he said kind of contributing to Cuba. He said they want ten buses or they want to bid on ten buses. Do you want to give them a good deal on it? Well, I said, seeing that they're having a hard time down there let's make it $50 over cost for each one of them." [James L. Alcock to Garrison 5.2.67] The files of the New Orleans FBI Office do not show that Fred Sewell was ever interviewed in regard to the Bolton Ford Incident.

    OSCAR DESLATTE

Oscar Deslatte, another employee of Bolton Ford, confirmed the report of Fred Sewell in a conversation with the FBI: "Joseph Moore," and an unidentified Cuban male, insisted Oscar Deslatte sell them trucks at cost because they would be used against Castro. Joseph Moore said he was an ex-Marine who was involved in training the invasion brigade. He wrote his name and bid on a piece of paper and handed it to Oscar Deslatte. Joseph Moore then asked Oscar Deslatte to return the slip, and changed the name on it to "OSWALD." OSWALD was in the Soviet Union in 1961. [WCD 75 p677; FBI 67-39565-66; FBI FOIA req. Banister 105-95587-1 p10] In 1979 the FBI released copies of the records of Oscar Deslatte. To see this tag double click here. [Bolton.JPEG] The words "Friends of Democratic Cuba" and "OSWALD" appeared. [Memo 5.9.67 To: Garrison From: Alcock.] The FBI ran a file check on Joseph Moore on January 9, 1968. Most of the serials were non-identifiable. Serials 25-20038, 26-24044, 162-436 were followed by question marks. Serial 88-6623 had nothing next to it. The rest of the serial were marked "Not Identifiable." [FBI New Orleans 89-69-3730]

HEMMING did not believe the Bolton Ford incident took place: "There's no logical connection at all. Nobody used any trucks during the Bay of Pigs. There were no xxxxing trucks. Maybe they were trying to con him. Sounds like some Cuban trying to get a deal. Never heard of Moore."

A member of this forum alerted me to the fact that one of our current members was essentially the opinions of a banned member - in this case Brian Doyle.

What this issue has raised - and it is why I closed the thread till I could find an answer to it - is that if allowed to continue a banned member ( in this case Brian Doyle ) has now found a voice on our forum through another member. Whether witting, or unwitting, the current member has allowed himself to become the surrogate through which this banned member is now able to continue posting.

This is not something the members of the admin team can allow to continue. In the next few hours the rules are going to be edited to reflect this change in what is acceptable on our forum. From this point on - even though the rules are yet to be edited - it will be an offence for any current member to voice the opinions and theories of any banned member.

Any current member found to be doing that will immediately be place on “two posts a day” - which as everyone knows is actually a euphemism for being denied posting rights. The term of the punishment will be determined by admin. There will be no fixed term, the term therefore could be a short or long period as determined the members of the admin team.

    James.

I'm new here and dont really know who any of the banned members are besides Doyle. There are a couple other JFK forums that I read besides this one. If I bring up a subject I see somewhere else that I agree with and it's from a member I did not know was banned will I be penalized? Or do I have to specifically mention that persons name?

This sounds like the guy who showed a Texas Driver's License to Fred Moore when he wanted to buy a couple of beers at the Jiffy Store.

When Oswald was in Russia during 1961 someone was using his name to buy Jeeps. I'm assuming that was tied to Bannister's operation in NO. Do you know if an Oswald ID was produced then?

Cant make out last 2 words but it looks  "Pilot is assistant to George _ _". The last word looks like AMOT to me

She actually was not the first person to postulate that.

Its mentioned in the Turner/Christian book.

But even if you discard that, Sirhan still did not kill anyone.  Since it was not possible for him to have shot RFK.

I agree 100% he did not kill anyone. I just dont remember ever reading about the blank bullets.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that he did. Besides RFK being shot from behind there is so much more evidence proving multiple guns were used.

Yes and there was a safe house behind the house where he was renting a room.  All he had to do was walk a few dozen feet behind his boarding house and enter the safe house.  Yet, he headed towards the Texas Theatre.  Once there, he moved from person to person, not knowing who his handler was because the theatre was dark OR he had never met his handler before and this was the first time.  Either way, his clothing didn't match the APB.  Also, people say he didn't buy a ticket.  Yet he purchased popcorn.  I believe he did both.  I believe he did purchase a ticket and some popcorn before going into the movie.

I also believe he bought a ticket. That explains why Julia Postal burst into tears both times she was asked by Jones Harris if she sold Oswald a ticket.

  10. 1 minute ago, Rich Pope said:

The only reason I can think of that Oswald would be in the lunchroom on the second floor is that there was a phone in that room.  Maybe he was waiting for a phone call from his handler that never came.  In that case, Oswald knew at that point he had been betrayed.

That's a good point. Just like he possibly was to meet his handler at the Texas theater.

Yes, because with the Imperial Reflex, you look down into the top of the camera as you hold it at about chest high.  I bought one so I could see how it worked.  What I can't figure out, and I would appreciate help from anyone on this is...Why did Oswald go buy a Coke when he could have gotten a Dr. Pepper, which was his all time favorite soda?  That machine was on the first floor.

Although I do struggle with him not being on one of the upper floors. If he was being set up and I believe he was I would assume he would be told to be on one of the upper floors. I've read in different books that he was told some sort of demonstration would be taking place. A banner or something similar would be flown. I do think there was a shooter in the TSBD but not certain it was the 6th floor or at least the window they claim it was. But you would think if he was being set it whoever was guiding him would make sure he was on an upper floor of the building.

I believe Oswald is prayer man.  But instead of eating his favorite cheese sandwich and drinking his not so favorite Coke, he's taking pictures with his Imperial Reflex camera.  He might have eaten his lunch prior to the photograph of him since we have a picture that shows a brown paper back and a bottled soda where he was standing.

To me it looks like hes taking a picture as well

That site may be the one of the most vile forum I've come across and not just on JFK. I joined there a few months back because I wanted to contact a member over there. I made 1 or 2 comments on a couple different posts and had an inbox full of messages calling me names and telling me I'm an idiot. I have no idea why people who believe in a conspiracy even bother posting there.

I do have a copy of the updated version John, to me the most interesting part was Dick's further exploration of Henry Hecksher and his likely association with Nagell, in Japan and in Mexico City.  I focused in on that so much that I'll have to check the book for what else might be new...   At the time I don't think Dick even had the confirmation we now have that Hecksher did indeed go on special assignment to Mexico City during the missile crisis period in fall 62, which does put him there exactly when Nagell said he ran into BOP in Mexico City (presumably Nagell in his typical fashion was using Bob as a reference to Berlin Operating Base, Hecksher's first CIA assignment.

What Dick also did not have available to him is the history on Hecksher's role in the Cuba Project and of course in AMWORLD....something several of us are following in our research on the Wheaton names.

Which of course takes me back to the most substantive part of the Nagell story that I feel relates to the conspiracy,  the approach by Cuban exiles to Oswald in New Orleans and their apparent (and abortive) effort to bring him into some unspecified activity in Washington DC in September.  A precursor to the conspiracy which jelled only after Nagell left the story and ended up in jail.

I'm glad you are enjoying the two books, if you have questions or want to chat feel free to email me at larryjoe@westok.net

Thanks Larry.  Was it Hecksher who used the alias Robert Graham and if so has that found to be true? I think it was in Russell's On the trail where I read that. It's been a while since I've read it so I'm a little foggy.

This was more worthwhile than I thought.  Nagell's only in the second half, and the dialogue is Texas-loquacious as all hell, but sometimes review of a subject by others points you to things you'd overlooked.

It's a good podcast for sure. I've been listening to it for a few years and listen to Chuck Ochelli and Len Osanic's show as well. They always have good researchers on with them.

Another underrated one I like is Night Fright. Mr. DiEugenio has been on a few times himself. Not sure new episodes have been made lately but there are quite a few on JFK,RFK and MLK.

I dont always agree with everything they say but like you said it's good hearing other peoples points of view. Personally I dont know many people interested in the subject so these podcasts really come in handy for me.

The fact that Carmine and I are good friends and that I know Mike as well illustrates how such subjects can produce very different interpretations but still lead to a conclusion of agreeing to disagree...grin.  Carmine and I have debated Nagell on the air before and probably will again at some point so there can be survivors.  If you are interested and have not read Dick Russells most recent book on Nagell (or the 2010 version of SWHT for that matter) you really should do so before bailing on the subject.

I reached my own conclusions after several years of study and obtaining/reading hundreds of pages of Nagell related documents (including his military and medical files, court proceeding documents and all his personal correspondence related to his court filings and government disability claims).  I also interviewed a couple of key characters who knew him including Vaughn Marlow.

The case against Nagell as a source is based largely on medical issues...and its exacerbated by his own remarks over the years including the fact that he did adjust his story depending on situational elements....especially when he went to court to fight for custody of his children in a case versus his wife (he won, which might suggest something).  Its equally interesting that he refused to change his basic story when the judge reviewing his case (LBJ's personal friend whom he later nominated to the supreme court) issued an order that his conviction would be overturned and he would be released if he admitted to a false plea  (think about how many times that offer gets made in real life).

So, not here to argue the case...Carmine and I might have a rematch some day (we were just on air last night with Chuck Ochelli on our JFK series).   I would say just don't toss Nagell - whose claims regarding the assassination boil down to nothing more than observing Cuban exiles representing themselves as Castro agents meeting with Oswald to manipulate him and maneuver him into some action in Washington DC in September - without doing your homework.  And of course as to that one point, its is totally and independently verifiable based on things Nagell could not have seen at the time he described...such as Oswald's letters to the SWP and CPUSA about a move to the Washington area in September and the fact that one of the first series of questions asked by the FBI of Marina after the assassination was her knowledge of this travel to Washington.

Hi Larry, big fan of yours here. Does the updated version of TMWKTM contain much more than previous versions? I believe the copy I have is from the late 90's it may even be the original print. Also I just purchased 2 of your books. Unidentified and Killing King. Really into the King book. One of the best I've read on his assassination so far. Thanks for the work that you do.
