Debunking the "Jet Effect" nonsense

Recommended Posts

Some of the videos from my JFKconspiracy group on Google of gunshot wounds to live victims proving that there is no such thing as a "jet effect".

CAUTION-- These videos portray the shooting in the head of living people--Not for the squeemish.

1. Hostage-taker shot in head by police sniper

-- Man holding a bloodied woman hostage is shot in face by a police sniper with a RIFLE. Although he is shot from the front, his head does not go forward toward the shooter, as it would have if the "Jet

Effect" was a reality. Instead, his head goes backwards, in same direction as the bullet, and there is no "Jet Effect". (26 secs.)

2. Chinese Execution Video

-- Four men are executed in the street by Chinese authorities. They are each shot in the back of the head with a handgun. With each shot, the head goes forward, in the direction of the bullet, not in the

direction of the shooter. There is no "Jet Effect". (39 secs)

3. The Execution of Pietro Caruso

-- In September, 1944 ex-mayor of Rome, Pietro Caruso was executed by a firing squad for his role in the Massacre at the Andeatine Caves, when 335 Italian citizens were killed in retaliation for a bomb attack that killed 33 Nazi SS policemen in Rome's Via Pasella. Caruso was responsible for selecting those civilians to be executed. His own execution was carried out as a result of his being found guilty by a war crimes court. Caruso is shot by multiple riflemen, however, the head does not move in the direction of the shooters, rather, it moves in the direction of the bullets, and since the bullets come from the same direction but at different angles, the head seems to open up and explode. There is no "Jet Effect".

4. Child Molester Killed by Victim's Dad

-- A man charged with kidnapping and molesting a 12 year old boy is escorted through an airport by police detectives. The boy's father pretends to be on the phone. As they walk by him, the father steps out and shoots the molester in the side of the head, killing him. The man's head moves in the direction of the bullet and there is no "Jet Effect".

Possibly there is a (deliberate, not by you Gil, but by the proponents of the effect) to use a proven effect by the US military in late 1940's studies using high speed (1200 fps) films to show the blowback caused by the explosive cavitation effect where matter in not insignificant amounts are being expelled back towards the direction the bullet came from. Here a steel ball is fired down into water:

(film)

Also there is a pause upon impact when the force of the impact is absorbed and RELATIVELY the object impacting and the object impacted upon is, if one considers the impacting object as stationary, the object impacted upon RELATIVELY moves in the direction the impacting object comes from:

Obviously the jet effect theory is ridiculous but there is another theory which IMO makes more sense, I'm not saying its correct, just that its not as crazy as the jet theory: After the second shot Kennedy's head is slumped forward ,chin laying on chest, the third shot causes the head to try to go forward but as its 'weged' on the chest this causes the head to 'bounce' backward , it basically has no where else to go.

Or the backwards head snap was caused by a shot fired from the front.

Witnesses who claimed to have seen photos of the autopsy before they were leaked to the public claimed that those photos and videos showed an entry wound at the front of the skull near the hairline.

One of the autopsy photos we see today seems to have a "black square" where the entry hole was alleged to be:

in another photo, the "black square" is missing:

and in the gaping hole pic showing the rear entry wound in all its glory, a visible entry wound can be seen in the front at about where the witnesses placed it:

If I had to bet my life savings, knowing how skulls react when they're hit by a bullet, knowing what the witnesses said they saw and looking at those autopsy photos, I'd bet hat the backwards head sanp was caused by a shot fired from the front.

Gil,

As a sidebar to all of that:

In reference to the video showing the execution of Pietro Caruso, there was plenty of smoke emitted from the rifles used. I added this given there was a discussion some time back about whether or not witnesses would have seen gunsmoke from behind the fence area on the knoll.

Denis, it's not so much a bounce as elastic recoil. If you slap your head downwards at the supposed exit location, your head will react much as Kennedys.

In the first video cited by Gil the hostage taker is shot from his right. His head twists rapidly to its left and then springs back towards the shooter, just as Kennedys. This springing back occurs after the explosion on the skull, and is not a response to the "Jet effect." Push your right temple to your left and your head will bounce upwards so you face the sky. This is elastic recoil. This is exactly what happens in the video. The hostage-taker faces skywards as he sinks to the ground.

P.S. Gil, when you say there were witnesses to your proposed entrance wound in the black square, who are you talking about specifically? I

Hi James, Yes your right about the previous discussion, it was myself who started it and I'm very happy to admit that I was obviously very wrong, well noticed by the way, I saw the clip but compleatly missed the smoke.

Denis,

I should have pointed out that not all weapons are the same and there will obviously be varying degrees of smoke emitted. Ryan Crowe also pointed out once that poor rifle maintenance can also produce large amounts of smoke, especially if there is oil present in the barrel.

Cheers,

James

If you watch Kennedy's head in the Zapruder film in slow motion, you can see that his head never moves far enough down to allow his chin to touch his chest. Instead, his hole body slumps (bends) forward from the waist.

I won't take that bet Gil.

Nice work.

Hi Gil,

Good post.

Action-Pietro Caruso, shot from the rear in the left rear skull: Reaction-forward and to the right.

Action- JFK shot from the front in the right temple above the ear: Reaction- Back and to the left.

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction: Sir Isaac Newton (1642 to 1727)

Newtons 3rd Law. Clear to me, Case closed?

Chris Brown.

Gil, I took your suggestion that I look at the Zapruder film in slow motion, in fact I did one better and found a site where you can view it frame by frame. Now, I dont intend to be argumentative but Ive looked at these frames for over two hours now and if you care to look for your self I'm sure you'll agree Kennedy's head IS actually laying on his chest immediately before the third shot hits. Remember, I'm not stating that the head DOES bounce back after hitting the chest, just that its a possible explanation. The site is:http://www.assassinationresearch.com/zfilm/ frames 312/313 are particular interesting. Denis.
