Tim Gratz
“We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth and listen to the song of that syren, till she transforms us into beasts... I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.” I know those of you who believe "the worst" (that there was an internal conspiracy involving high level U.S. government officials) will relate to that quote: I need to know the "whole truth" even if it confirms "the worst". And: we are "apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth". So who said it?
Tim Gratz
Kudos to Kathy! Fast solution! A great quote for all seekers of the truth, aye? Kathy, I see you have a minor in philosophy. I have always been intrigued by Dr. Josiah Thompson who was a philosophy professor and wrote a book on Kierkegaard before he wrote one of the best early criticisms of the Warren Report, and then he became a successful private investigator and wrote a highly-acclaimed book on his profession.
