When looking at this image we need to make allowances for the change in ground level at the wall.

Hi Robin....

Question,

What would the ground level have to do, with placing the couple in the wrong

position at the wall,in Lee's recreation......?

The young man at the left , is standing, at the corner...

They are beyond that to the right, and the bench is seen closer to the wall than is seen in new rendiction.....

Though I do realize there is a difference on the position of the photograhper in taking said photos...

But ..when comparing the Darnell to his......? To me it does appear that they have been placed in the

wrong postion within....

Bernice is correct. I do not understand moving the people and bench farther from the corner.

OOPS my error.

I misread the Darnell frame. !

I only mentioned the ground level because ever time i post a moden day photo of that area, someone pops up and starts talking about the difference in ground levels from 22/11/63

Jack / Bernice.

That Darnell frame was throwing my perspective out.

I had not realised that the guy on the left was actually standing in the "corner" of the wall.

i will have to go back and rehash the image.

Does this look closer to what you see in Darnell ?

Does this look closer to what you see in Darnell ?

Yep.

Now I think if you will check the photo of the two cops looking at the

bag on the bench, the bench locations will not correspond.

Ten years ago I did this vanishing point analysis of the bench photo.

I suggest that the photo is not kosher.

No Jack, it does not appear to correspond, am hoping Robin will do the comparison, but

from a quick look, I agree........

I have been looking at the width of the wall that faced Elm St....

All I get is another.......?

and what else is new...whenever one gets into the Plaza..

Have a look, does it appear to you, to be not as wide now, than it was in 63 ??.....

Or..?

Thanks B....

Yep, that is me by the fence (TMWKK) and Gary and I were measuring

the wall height. I am holding a steel rule. I say, "The wall is 60" tall"

as I recall. That is 5 feet tall. That is Gary on the other side of the wall.

If I remember correctly, the ground on the backside of the fence was

a few inches lower than the frontside.

Yes it does appear to be taller & fuller..........The question will be, do the Pyracantha Bushes loose their

leaves.....in the colder weather....is that a possibility ??

I am aware the fence was 5ft tall, and approx a few inches shorter at the front...

But in seeing the two of you,.. right up against at the fence in the photo, brought to mind, how much taller a man

would then be if, say he was behind such and say standing on a bumper of a car.....he would have

had no problem then whatsoever in seeing, over the wall......as some say it would have been for instance, Myers..

within his studies .....

It just came to mind..

Excuse typos, Jack I am infamous for such.....no problemo, ever...

Thanks

B..

Actually, it has never been determined for certain that it was a pyracantha bush.

Years ago, a researcher identified it as such, and ever since then people have

taken her word for it. I am as guilty as anyone of spreading this ID without knowing.
