John Simkin
Scientists in Germany have discovered a piece of bone from a child’s little finger in a cave in the remote mountains of southern Siberia. After carrying out DNA tests they discovered that the child is not related to any known human. This child did not share the DNA of the remains of the Neanderthals. The bone has been dated as being between 30,000 and 40,000 years old. It seems that during this period, three different species, Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and the group that this child belonged to, were living together in this part of the world. John Dolva
Was there any signs of an acid burn nearby dated to the bone?

Len Colby
Interestingly some sources say the bone belonged to a woman. Most (all?) indicated "for now, the researchers have steered away from describing the specimen as a new species. " let alone as an "alien" http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8583254.stm

Ron Ecker
It was some human species, but the experts can't put their finger on it.
