Vasilios Vazakas
Wiliam Turner discusses in his book Deadly Secrets the story of Caroll Jarnagin. Jarnagin was a lawyer that overheard a conversation between Jack Ruby and Harvey Oswald at the Carousel Club. Ruby was asking Oswald to kill John Connally because he did not allow the Mafia to muscle it's way into oil business. Reston, who wrote Connally's biography states that Lee Harvey Oswald's target was not President Kennedy but John Connally. Michael Milan in his book The Squad: The U.S. Government’s Secret Alliance With Organized Crime, claims that the mafia was targeting Connally. Victor Ostrovsky in his book By way of deception, shares the same view. Is any shred of truth on these claims or just another disinformation plot? Ron Ecker
If Connally was the target, and the shooters were at all competent, why did JFK catch so many stray bullets (throat, back, and head at least once), with exactly one (non-fatal) hit on Connally? I guess it just wasn't JFK's day (or the shooters' day either). Edited December 27, 2010 by Ron Ecker

Would Oswald have had any way of knowing that Connally would be riding in an open top limo that day? Connally wasn't the target and Oswald wasn't the Sixth Floor Sniper though a number of patsies were considered and a number of cover stories proposed. Vasilios Vazakas
Since we have excluded this bizzare theory, i would think it is disinformartion. Could it be possible that the mafia was planning to kill Connally at a different time and place and they panicked when the assassination happened, leaving a dead president and an injured Connally? I wonder why a lawyer a biographer and an ex intelligence officer will claim that.what were their motives.
