Life Mag Frame 242

Recommended Posts

Life Magazine Nov25, 1966.

Comparison of Life Mag frame 242 vs Zfilm frame 242.

The relationship between the lower sprocket hole and SS front bumper is incorrect, between the two.

There are a couple of other differences between the two, that might be for a later discussion.

A closer match is Zfilm frame 243 to Life Mag frame 242.

But that's incorrect because all other elements do not align.

P.S.

Sorry about posting a photo from the magazine. I think it will suffice for now.

If someone could scan and post that frame from Life, much appreciated.

Otherwise, I'll post it when I gain access to a scanner.

You are assuming the black Sprocket holes are the actual holes.

Since the holes in the film were actual HOLES they would project or view as WHITE when backlit.. The only way for them to be black is for someone to actually ADD the black, like LIFE during post production....

I think Craig's on the right track. Apart from generational and media differences it's the slice above the lower sprocket hole that shows item differences. I suggest LIFE was sloppy in its placement of the hole(s)*

edit add : * holes

Sisco scan showing the chrome grill just under the headlight as seen in Z-242

but not in the Life z-242 version

I also agree that it is possibly because Life simply extended the black sprocket hole too high covering the chrome grill area on the follow up car.
